Thanks so much for all this helpful information and advice everyone! DS and I will be going in May and neither of us have ever been before. I booked last night for the POP and I am trying to get everything together so I kind of know what to expect :)

:woohoo: Glad to have you on board. "Happy Posting".

Hey! Welcome to the DISboards!! We just booked our next trip for May 15-22 at the POP. We have never stayed at the POP before, and this thread helped us to make up our minds!

We had our first WDW trip this past May and stayed at Coronado Springs Resort. We had an absolutely GREAT time!!

We will be there that same week! Maybe we'll see you there! Or maybe we won't. Anyway...I plan on decorating my window. Look for Musclemouse! :thumbsup2

Hi musclemouse! We'll be there the same time too! I am decorating my window with hanging stuffed Mickey Heads made from Christmas fabric and snowflake window clings. Keep an eye out for us!

Only 17 more days! :woohoo:

This may seem like a pretty stupid question, but can you fill water bottles up at the food court? We don't really like to buy single use water bottles as a rule while we are at home. They're not good for the environment, and we're just as happy with water from the tap. (Even though I know it doesn't taste as good there as it does at home).

So, if I bring my water bottles from home can I fill them up at the soda fountain so that it's cold and we can add ice? Has anyone ever had trouble doing this in the morning before they leave for the parks?

So I am typing up my room controller request (need something to pass the time!) and I was looking at maps, etc. I know I want to stay in the 80's...facing the computer pool if possible.

Anyone have pictures taken of the 80's/90's section?

And how is the walk to the busses? Did you cut through the parking lot?

Definately cut through the parking lot.

Is anyone else going in the early part of March? The 6-13 are our dates and I'm trying to figure out if it is going to be busy then or not? Any insight?

We have gone the first week of March the last 2 years. The first Sunday-Thursday and this past one Sunday-Friday. Now how busy it is depends on when Easter falls and college breaks as well. now this may sound wierd, but this past year, with Easter being in March the week we went was much slower than the previous year when Easter fell in April. That year it was really packed, and some lines were just too long to wait in. This past year was sooo much better. But I noticed that the Friday we left it seemed to be getting busier. So your best bet is to find out when the spring breaks are, which I bet your week will fall in about the middle of them.

The water at WDW isn't all that tasty though.

Hi Ho, Hi Ho, It’s off to POP we go, we only have 10 days to go, Hi Ho, Hi Ho. Hi Ho, Hi Ho, Hi Ho…:goodvibes
I do have a question, if you tip, do you tip Mousekeeping on the day you check out?

Cute!

Your Mousekeeper may not work your room each day you're there. Therefore, make sure you tip every day.

Have a great time "Happy"! :goodvibes

A good way to overcome this issue might be for you to pack a box or 2 of the single serving drink mixes. Just take a few along with you in the park each day and you can dump them in the bottles..refill and shake.

BTW...is anyone else here scheduled for the 1st week in Feb? We are SO excited. I have been doing nothing but reading this site and making plans since last week...I hope the obsession wears off soon hahaha.

We've gone at that time several times, and I don't think it's too bad considering it's park of the peak season. We went the first week of March three times, but I will say that the airport was a lot more crowded on the way home, so obviously it starts picking up.

We walked onto most rides, etc. Never had to wait much for anything. We're pretty laid back about that stuff though, so I may not be the best to answer that. But it's definitely not as bad as how people describe the summer and holidays to be.

We also stayed offsite so we only dealt with this stuff at the parks. Even the restaurants offsite and stuff weren't too bad during the weeknights. So, my guess is that things were similar onsite.

Have fun...it's a good time of year to go. Cool in the morning, beautiful in the afternoon and not too hot. And definitely warm enough to swim most days...especially in the heated pools in the sun!

Pops pools may be heated, but they are not that warm. LOL! The first year we went it was pretty cool the whole trip, it was actually 40 the day we got there. It got nice and warm the day we left. of course. LOL! We did one swim, well DD did, and it was quick for the most part. This past year the weather was nice, but stil la little cool in the pool, but it didn't stop DD at all.

We were scheduled for the 3rd thru 10th, but had a slight snafu with my work schedule. We're now going the 5th thru 13th! (I have to update my ticker, lol.)

How nice is it going to be to escape the northeast to Florida in Feb???? *it's going to feel like heaven hahaha*

Has anyone ever used Verizon's wireless data service while at WDW? I'm just wondering if it is worth bringing the laptop for net access. I refuse to pay their $10 a day fee though. If Verizon has decent data coverage there then I'll probably bring it.

We just switched our 3/13-3/20 ressies from AS Movies to Pop. I hope we will love it as much as you all do. This is our first stay at a value resort. I welcome the change. In these economic times, it makes more sense to stay at a value for us. How crowded can we expect buses to be during mid march?

We just stayed at Pop for the first time last week and loved it! We have stayed at POFQ and WL, but we just love Pop. I'm sure you are going to love it.

Buckeye Gal/Kimberly-- thank you so much for compiling all that info for post #1! Wow!

We are staying at Pop for the first time in February and reading this thread has made me feel much more prepared for our trip. We have previously only stayed in deluxe resorts, but the 4/3 deal led us to Pop!

I'll have the LGMH on my bag, so if you Poppers see me, come say hi! :goodvibes
