There is still over 3 months to go before my trip, but thinking about it cheers me up so I'm writing a PTR already :upsidedow

So, lots of you have seen the ups and downs of planning this trip, but it's all sorted now!
Dates: Wednesday 15th June- Sunday 19th June (2 nights at Sequoia Lodge followed by 2 nights in Paris)
My final year exams at uni finish in May and I'm graduating on July 11th, so this trip is a celebration and a chance to relax after 5 years of hard slog at uni.

The cast:

  • Me (Lisa), 22, 5th trip to DLP ::MickeyMo
Aimee, 22, 1st Disney trip, also graduating this summer :tigger:
Katie, 23, 1st Disney trip, graduated last year but just along for the fun! :stitch:

Both the girls love Disney films and are excited to be visiting the parks, and I can't wait to see them experience the magic for the first time! It will be a different experience for me going with 2 newbies, I'll need to try not to overwhelm them with plans...

Wednesday 15th June
8.45 flight from Glasgow to CDG, going to book TGV. Should be checking into SL around 1.30pm and heading straight to Disneyland Parc!
I want to try and take a look around the castle, let the girls get a feel for the park, also do Pirates and BTM and meet Captain Jack (this is at the top of Katie's to do list!)
Would like to have dinner at Blue Lagoon but waiting for park opening hours.
Back to SL to get settled in room, then a hotel crawl for some cocktails!

Thursday 16th June
Up early for EMH!
Salon Mickey for snacks, then off to the Studios to attempt to get on Crush.
Do all big rides in the Studios, plus Stitch Live and Cinemagique
Lunch at Annette's around 2.30.
Main park again in the afternoon for more rides, hub show and the parade.
Cafe Mickey for a late dinner about 8.30, maybe some drinks at Sports Bar.

Friday 17th June
EMH then check out :(
Salon Mickey, and see what we haven't been able to do yet or what everyone wants to do again.
Lunch at Walts around 2pm, then go for the train to Paris around 4pm.

I'm still adjusting to the idea of such a short DLP trip, I'm used to having way too much time to play with! But I'm confident we will be able to fit in everything we want to do. Thankfully the other two are leaving all the planning to me, they know what I'm like :thumbsup2
Aimee is the planner for the Paris section of the trip, she and I have both visited Paris several times but Katie has never been so we will fit in the main sights including Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame etc. We're probably going out to the jazz clubs in the Latin Quarter on Friday night and going to the Moulin Rouge dinner show on the Saturday night.
Flying back to Ecosse at 4pm on Sunday. A short but busy trip!

 Oh Lisa you do make me laugh, I love that you've started the planning already! The best part of planning is that you get to start immersing yourself in the Magic before you've even got there :wizard: YAY!!! :yay:

I hope you all have a fantastic time and that Aimee and Katie both fall in love with the parks too! :lovestruc

When you do a TR you must must must tell me what you thought about Moulin Rouge when in Paris - I've always wanted to go and visit there!

Thank you :rotfl: yup there's something wrong with me, I just can't stop planning!
I'm going to include the Paris part of our trip in the TR when I get back for anyone who is interested, I'm very excited about Moulin Rouge too. It's not cheap, better be good :worship:

I cannot wait for the TR - I always enjoy reading your TRs!!!! I was talking to a couple in London recently about Moulin Rouge and they said it was fabulous - the costumes are incredible and the set / performances are out of this world! So jealous!!!!! :rotfl:

I really think the planning is all part of the magical experience - I love planning my own trips and bug the life out of the rest of the family by planning for even the minutest things!

Would love to read about your Paris adventure too! :thumbsup2

Oh I do love a good PTR! :thumbsup2 We go 3 months tomorrow and my planner is already full to bursting - I've just finished pricing up all our meals :rotfl:

I love the idea of a cocktail night followed by EMH - oh what it is to be young! ;)

I'm sure the three of you will have a fantastic trip, Paris included! A well earned reward after all your hard work! :goodvibes

Happy planning!! :wizard:

Ooo can't wait :goodvibes We're all musical theatre geeks so I'm sure we'll love the performances. Can't you squeeze a little Paris time into one of your many upcoming DLP trips Adam? :thumbsup2

Yup, I agree - I think you're either a planner or you're not, and the non-planners will never understand that we actually enjoy it :rotfl: Aimee is a planner too (we are both Virgos we think this has a lot to do with it) so we've split the planning between DLP and Paris, and Katie the non-planner is happy to go with the flow. :cool1:

Why don't you write your PTR too?! Would love to read it and then I wouldn't feel so silly about doing mine so early :surfweb:
Ooh meal pricing haven't done that yet, thanks for the reminder! Haha not that its exactly urgent, but I did say I'd give the girls a rough meal budget so we can plan our spending money.
Lol we will see how cocktail night followed by EMH works out in practice  But I think this will certainly be a more alcohol-fuelled Disney experience than I'm used to, its our end of uni celebration after all :wizard:

I was looking at Paris return prices on Eurostar and they are REALLY good - oh don't, see now I'm already planning a Paris/Moulin Rouge weekend!!! :rotfl:

I am so looking forward to this part of the TR!!!!! :rotfl2:

Sounds like loads of fun Lisa :thumbsup2. lets hope the weather is so much better then what we had on our last trip. i too am finding it hard to plan sqeezing everything into a shorter trip then we are used to but i'm sure we can do it he he. we are disney experts after all:lmao:.

Another trip sorted! I'm sure you're friends will have a great time - and better than if they'd gone without you.

The thing about planning is that the people who don't plan have no idea at all how much actual planning goes into a smooth and successful trip! So they end up thinking that no planning is required, because someone has always done it for them :lmao:

Anyway, sounds like some great plans. The Paris part sounds great too.

Happy planning :goodvibes

This sounds like a great trip. I have also started planning for our trip that is a couple of weeks before yours. After all making plans and changing them round half a dozen times before you actually arrive is half the fun isn't it?
Jo

Thank you :goodvibes I'm proud to be such a good planner that to everyone else it seems effortless.....the only clue is my folder of notes and schedules. Lol!

This is what I love about the DIS, its great to be among like minded planning people :rotfl:

Sounds like a really great trip! I love seeing how 'newbies' react to their first time at Disney. I think I'd have to squeeze in at least an extra night at DLP though:rotfl:

I was just wondering if it was too early to start my pre trip report then saw yours! Haha! :thumbsup2

Ha ha I'm glad to be dragging others into my insanity! You're slacking now Louise, get your PTR done before it's too late :rotfl: :surfweb:

I know it's tough knowing its only two days, but one of the girls after looking at my Brits Guide has already been seeing "Halloween looks amazing, we should go back for Halloween". She won't need to ask me twice :woohoo:

Countdown milestones today - its exactly 9 weeks until our trip, and more importantly, I paid off the balance today! :cool1:
You all know how it is, every bit of communication and bit of planning ticked off feels exciting. The CM on the phone (Angel) was lovely, asking all about our trip, got me feeling all Disneyfied.
I am definitely going to need this trip by the time I've finished uni, ridiculous amounts of work ahead in the next 6 weeks!

It will be here before you know it ::yes:: your trip sounds such fun. Please include all the Paris bits as I always enjoy reading the non-Disney part of people's trip reports as much as the Disney bits.
I'm still adjusting to the idea of such a short DLP trip, I'm used to having way too much time to play with!
Snap!! We're only going for 2 nights next month and it will seem so strange as our shortest trip so far has been 5 nights.

p.s. Just noticed your name is Lisa ~ I always think of you as Lola!! :rotfl:

Good luck with the next 6 weeks, what a reward waiting at the end of it though?!! :cool1:

Haha Lola has been a nickname since school - can't remember exact origin but there was some link to copacabana. Goes nicely with DeLorean to reference my geeky love of back to the future! I'm glad people think thats my real name, much more interesting than Lisa :rotfl:
