Can I just vent here for a minute? Now, mind you, most of you know I am a Jason/Liz supporter so with that being said...the writers couldn't even give us a decent couple of scenes with them? They couldn't even have them hug over the loss of the child they shared? Liz couldn't give the motorcycle back to Jason and tell him to keep it? I thought it was lousy writing (along with everything else) that they only gave them 2 crappy scenes and no real closure...or maybe I missed something

I agree with you too. For two people who took so long to tell each other "I love you" and had a child but chose not to be together because of his dangerous job we got jipped. As a matter of fact, I think their whole relationship from when they got together through now was written stinky. The best nights of their relationship was the one night of passion where Jake was conceived, the reveal in the elevator that Jason was the father and the night that Jason watched Jake be born. The I love you scene was good too. WE Liz and Jason fans didn't get any quality relationship time and..........Well, I could go on and on but I'll spare you all from my rant.

Anyone else find the scenes with Luke and Lucky sooooo hard to watch today? OMG.....rip your guts out raw.....that's for sure.....

Completely Bonnie!

Anthony Geary.. going to be nominated for Best Lead with this performance. Although it was difficult to watch, Geary NAILED it!!!! Gut Wrenching to watch, but the emotion was put out there. Jonathan Jackson did too. Their scenes are always good. Well though out clip placement with Luke and Lucky.. good job:thumbsup2

Where has Ethan been? Nik taking Cam and Aiden to Windemere makes sense as does the absence of Brook.. why put salt on Liz's wounds.

The best part.. Sonny presence has been negligable the past few days!

Now.. do I want Luke to be the driver that killed little Jake-NO WAY! I wanted it to be Lisa.
I think GH has different plans for Lisa. .. to be honest I like the Lisa and Johnnie pairing.. it is dark and slightly twisted... and has storyline options. However the pediatrician guy will fade away or do something really bad forcing him to leave sooner than later.

Michael's love scenes today were very sweet and tender.. loved the bra debacle! ;)

I agree yesterday's show was really good. Best part. NO SONNY!!! Luke had me in tears... Really missed shows like this. I also liked the Michael / Abby scenes very sweet.

I totally agree.. I thought they were in love before, they sure made Liz a total jerk with Jason.:confused3

so are they not going to have a funeral?
Also anyone else going crazy at Carly's attitude toward Brenda with not moving forward etc... after everything she just went through and Elizabeth agreeing to the organ donor! You would think Carly would be nice!!
makes me sick...

I was wondering the same thing. If they don't show the funeral atleast show the people coming back from it all dressed in black and tearyeyed talking about the service or something.

A lot of us are wondering if Luke really did hit ‘n run Jake. Luke’s portrayer Tony Geary believed this storyline twist is here to stay and haunt the character forever. But RavenBeauty is one of many suggesting no.

More RavenBeauty March 26th spumors are as follows: Franco shows up again, acting like Hannibal Lector. But Jason won’t be in the mood… Sam gets really sick with the head pain, revealing maybe a Franco angle… Dante hides yet another former love from Lulu… Abby might turn into a villainous character, after all… Another veteran will see a reduction in airtime, in the recurring mode…

Head writer Bob Guza said somewhere (how’s that for journalism? Heh) that Ingo Rademacher’s Jax will play a pivotal role in the S&B story, but then he hinted that Jax may not last past that story. Does this mean another RavenBeauty rumor – Jax and Brenda made their baby boy, and Jax will ride off into the sunset with his new family – has come to pass?

Writer Ed Martin made waves in the soap community with his March 29th tirade against GH for killing off Jake instead of Josslyn, winning fans and hopefully influencing people. Martin – who suspected Luke might not have run Jake over after all – rightly asserted that fans had more at stake with Jake than Josslyn and that Carly would’ve benefited from a major character make-over had she been the one to generously donate her daughter’s kidneys to save Jason and Elizabeth’s dying son.

“… [Carly] has never been more disturbing than in recent weeks, when she chose to focus on sabotaging her ex-husband's wedding rather than deal with the fact that her oldest son had been raped in prison -- an incarceration that she had as much to do with as anyone else (as it was her decision to remove the boy from his family, the much put-upon Quartermaines, and insist that he be raised by a dangerous mobster).” [If it helps, Carly’s portrayer Laura Wright had a problem with gunning for Dante right after Michael’s rape revelation. She thought that perhaps her character as a mom should’ve honored the revelation more than gone violent with that gun scene.]

Martin also pointed out the stupidity in killing off a namesake from three major families—the Hardys, Quartermaines, and Spencers—and turning a potentially moving story into another murder mystery.

In summary, Martin spoke for a multitude of fed-up GH fans by suggesting this is the kind of story that kills soaps, not budget constraints or wandering cable-channel surfing. “I'll never understand the wisdom of continually killing or otherwise destroying characters that matter to millions of viewers, especially at a time when a show is struggling to hold onto its audience. The overriding issue for those involved in daytime drama is this: As in any other business, if you don't give people what they want they are going to go away. If you give them what they don't want they will leave even faster.” :thumbsup2

If head writer Bob Guza Jr. goes, will former head writer Claire Labine – the one who actually penned “B.J.’s Heart” to much success – return to her post?

**Sonny doesn’t warm right away to little Lucian, like Brenda did. But then again, he’s not the parent.
Sonny believes Suzanne did not present little Lucian with the whole story. He’s waiting for the other shoe to fall.
Driven to distraction with concern about raising little Lucian in the mob, Brenda consults with Michael about the matter.
As much as Michael adores and looks up to his dad Sonny, he conveys to Brenda that living in the mob is no way for Lucian to live.
Michael swears by his wonderful life as Sonny’s boy, when speaking with Brenda.
Brenda whispers in Jax’s ear about her lack of confidence as a new mom.
Diane interjects her legal considerations regarding little Lucian for Sonny.

Spinelli confers with Diane about writing another novel, a follow-up.
Max displays a need for Diane to reaffirm him, which she does.
Diane rewards Max for putting up with her latest business, by lavishing sweet-nothings in his ear and showing him he’s the only one for her.
Johnny extends sympathy Michael’s way, in the aftermath of Brandon’s murder.
Jason disapproves of Michael’s pushing to be a major part of the mob.
Jason, Sonny, and Dante all disapprove of Michael’s path down the crooked, as opposed to the straight and narrow—especially when they see him around Johnny.
Sonny, Jason, and Dante scare themselves into believing Johnny’s sniffing around Michael to be the next mob member for the Zacchara organization.
Michael puts Sonny, Jason, and Dante off on their do-gooder crusade. Michael insists to Jason that he will be master of his own destiny.
In his investigations, Dante is shocked to note that there’s a link between Johnny and … Brandon.
Dante arms Sonny with worrisome data on Johnny snaking Michael to take the fall for Brandon’s death.
But maybe not. Lulu plays devil’s advocate with Dante about Johnny not being that devious.
Lulu suggests to Dante that maybe Johnny’s just trying to look out for Michael.
Sonny menaces Johnny away from Michael.
Michael cops to a hunger for the kind of power exuded and wielded by his mob heroes.

What does Abby have to hide? She pressures Michael to go on holiday while the authorities thrash out who killed Brandon.
Ronnie puts out a lure to bring down Sonny Inc.
The police converge around Abby as a suspect, escorting her downtown to Chinatown for further investigation.
Abby’s police custody prompts Michael to sic Jason on the case.
Carly tries to get Michael to avoid the Abby situation if at all possible. So does Jason.
Michael can’t help himself, he has to involve himself in all aspects of Brandon’s murder.
Sam goes back over the baby issue, in light of Jason’s pain about losing Jake.
Jason relents about making babies, after seeing that it didn’t matter whether Jake was raised under the mob or not, he still died.
Sam relays to Jason Carly’s idea that they should procreate.

Lucky walks in on his dad, Luke, ready to burn down the Haunted Star.
Lucky drafts Lulu as Luke’s babysitter and knight in shining armor.
An opportunistic Johnny slithers over to Luke with an interesting proposition that will be the worst thing for the geezer.
Tracy makes Luke see the error of his alcoholic ways.
Lucky and Jason thrash out the emotional fallout from Jake’s accidental hit ‘n run.
Steve tries to be an inspiration to Luke to do something, to make it right.

Sam goes out of her way to be kind to Elizabeth.
Elizabeth lets Jason have the toy motorcycle Jake loved so well.
Elizabeth chats with her brother Steve. She hints that she must do something difficult but necessary (telling Lucky and Nikolas about Aiden’s real dad).
Elizabeth is under the mistaken belief that Lucky finds fault with her for Jake’s hit ‘n run. Same with Lucky.
Nikolas almost catches Elizabeth with the paternity test result that dislodges him as Aiden’s biological father. Same with Lucky.
Elizabeth is stopped cold right as she’s prepared to reveal the paternity test results to those concerned.
Elizabeth observes Nikolas and Lucky getting along, thinking, waiting.
It is Maxie who comes across Elizabeth’s last paternity test result—the one that says Lucky’s the real dad.
Maxie exhorts Elizabeth to do the right thing and tell.
Maxie pockets Elizabeth’s paternity test result then flees Elizabeth’s abode, Lucky and Nikolas none the wiser.
Maxie asks Matt what’s the best thing to do about Elizabeth’s paternity test result.
Matt responds to Maxie’s question with a call to leave Elizabeth alone.

If Patrick were a little nicer to Lisa… Oh well, Lisa reenergizes herself for a fight.
Patrick bothers himself about Johnny’s enabling of Lisa, thus worsening her crazy.
Lisa sees an opportunity to use Kristina in the worst way against Patrick and Robin—and jumps on it.
Lisa’s attempt to manipulate Kristina in the worst way is thwarted—by life’s random circumstances, for now.
Kristina and Ethan become better and better friends. He enables her to get over resenting little Lucian for the attention he’s taking away from her, as well as which college if any she will get to attend.

Thank you, Tyler Christopher (Nikolas) for publicly acknowledging the fans often know more than actors like him. In an April 7th blogtalkradio interview with Jasam Radio, the actor said that he can’t really tell fans at public appearances what’s going to happen next in storylines, because he often doesn’t even know. But the fans often do. Love him. It sucks what they’re doing to him over at GH (did you know they fired him by phone?), but it’s GH, duh.

Is Maurice Benard (Sonny) balking at a major paycut? Maybe he’s not so naïve as to believe taking a paycut would save his soap the way Susan Lucci (Erica, AMC) purportedly was. It won’t matter; they’re cutting salaries left and right, for big and small stars on GH, as well as letting go of two veterans and turning two contract players into recurring players, according to RavenBeauty recently.

Ingo Rademacher (Jax) better update his resume. He’s also on the chopping block, based on current rumors. And, he may wind up leaving with Brenda on his arm.

RavenBeauty’s April 7th update hinted that **Suzanne will unveil more treachery against Brenda with Lucian, Abby will make an about-face as a former good character, Lisa will use Kristina by possibly luring the young girl into drug abuse, Nikolas will perish, additional cast members will see firings, and much more. Suzanne’s Lucian drop serves to permanently split Brenda from Sonny, Carly will fall for Shawn—leaving Jax out in the cold and back with Brenda “but that's not etched in stone, and would happen after the summer). Once again, Vanessa is not renewing.” Just when you think you have Brandon’s killer pegged, the real killer pops up, and blackmail is involved. Whether Tony Geary (Luke) is ready for it or not, RavenBeauty insinuated that AA will rock his character and force a “serious inventory.” It also sounds like Lisa will get Kristina hooked on drugs, but Lisa will finally get her comeuppance. **

Theo somehow survived Suzanne’s throat-slitting.

Great, I was all excited about getting into OLTL, having an alternative...and now I'm going to have to come crawling back to GH! :rotfl:

Or I could go to Y&R -- it's starting to look like GH with Tristan Rogers, Stephen Nichols and Genie Francis...

Jason gives Carly a heads-up on Johnny’s possible aim to add Michael to the Zacchara syndicate.
Carly has it out with Johnny, to protect her boy.
Carly and Sonny make every attempt to block Michael from the mob life.
Michael pays Carly and Sonny no mind. He’s attracted to power and skirting the law, like they are.
Abby implores Michael to heed Jason’s every advice.
Johnny thinks his dangerous dad is behind bars. Surprise! Anthony greets his son in his son’s own pad.
Anthony Zacchara won’t include Johnny in on what might’ve happened to Brandon.
Anthony pushes Johnny to be Michael’s next, #1 mentor fast—or else Sonny will bust that up.
Anthony tempts Shawn to the dark side.
Lulu asks that Johnny resist victimizing Michael in this mob business.
But Johnny sincerely explains to Lulu that that isn’t his intent. Johnny says he sincerely cares about Michael and feels for the young man.
Dante uncovers cell phone imagery pinning Michael with Brandon’s killing.
Ronnie tries to badger Michael to cop to Brandon’s killing—or else watch Dante lose his police job.
Ronnie goes to detain Abby as a perp. That did it.
Michael goes and does something stupid, because cops seemingly like Abby for the murder of Brandon. Three guesses…
Diane inserts herself into the Michael situation, with her thoughts about him backing himself into a corner.

Jake died of a hit ‘n run, just so Jason and Sam could replace him with a miracle Christ child, at Carly’s instigation.
Jason and Sam talk ad nauseum about doing what comes naturally, becoming parents, but only if she is on board.
Jason indicates he will relent on the baby-making with Sam, if she’s willing.
As they utter Jake-related platitudes, Jason and Sam consent to try and have a child together.
Michael ego-boosts Jason as perfect parent material. On second thought…
Jason doesn’t like hearing that Michael views him as a role model.
Sam has some fun with Jason, exaggerating the weirdness of the ob-gyn appointment.
Sam leaves her ob-gyn appointment, weeping alone… which is when Carly looms in.
But Sam isn’t weeping out of sorrow. She reports that her ob-gyn appointment brought her miraculous tidings: she can make babies after all.

Michael rattles off all that is wonderful about Carly to a skeptical Brenda.
Suzanne has been hiding an awful lot in her quest to skirt the radar. Sonny may not be so paranoid.

Jax and Brenda go back and forth over whether Sonny’s mob life is child-friendly. Brenda grows agitated by what Jax says.
Jax’s admonition against Sonny and the mob sinks in with Brenda, though.
Brenda and Sonny come into a disagreement about their life together, because of the mob thing.
Sonny breaks up Brenda’s talk with Jax, disturbingly so.
Sonny celebrates his birthday with loved ones and loved ones who hate each other.
Molly pipes up about an observation of an event that occurred, which doesn’t sit well with territorial, anti-Brenda Carly.
Carly tries to intimidate Brenda into behaving, but Brenda fights back.
Carly orders Brenda to steer clear when it comes to Carly, Sonny, and their children. The fight gets major.
Jax throws a lot of cheddar at Shawn—just so the enforcer-turned-bodyguard will set up shop far away elsewhere, far from Carly.

Elizabeth tries not to spaz out when she sees Nikolas holding Aiden’s paternity test.
Elizabeth takes in Lucky and Nikolas getting along like brothers again.
The restoration of Lucky and Nikolas’s brotherhood prevents Elizabeth from going forward with plans to out the Aiden paternity.
Matt cautions Maxie to stay out of Elizabeth’s private affairs (Aiden).
Siobhan gives Lucky a safe, loving place to fall—for a short while at least. What she does next will leave him stranded.

Robin and Patrick learn new things about each other as marrieds in counseling, which serves to scare her about the long-term.
Robin whispers in Maxie’s ear about her highly classified dread that eventually, Patrick may outgrow the marriage, and her.

Kristina requests that Ethan escort her to her prom, but he would rather not thanks very much.
Lisa feeds Kristina a narcotic drug by disguising it as a safe herbal supplement.
Lisa may get one over on Johnny too.

Next week: Sonny tries to force Michael into giving the Abby thing a rest… Michael comes forward—just like Jason did before him—to take the fall for Brandon’s murder, so Abby doesn’t have to… Robin strongly urges Brenda to confirm for herself and Sonny that Lucian really is hers—through a DNA test… Lucian cannot be located, anywhere, AWOL… Maxie forces Elizabeth to do what’s right and true… Sonny takes a shot at breaking Luke’s stupendous walls of stupidity about his spiraling out of control… Kristina is there for Ethan, who must do an intervention for Luke… Ethan, Tracy, Lulu, the entire Spencer gang comes together to express to Luke why he is an alcoholic who needs rehab.

Gossip for the week of 17-Apr-2011
by Carol Banks Weber

When it was officially announced last Thursday that AMC and OLTL would be canceled as of September and January 2012, respectively, people worried about GH’s fate. It’s the only ABC Daytime soap left, but its future isn’t assured by a long shot, not if you base it on ABC Daytime president Brian Frons’ idea of a reassurance. He told the press, following the announcement, that GH is fine, as long as it keeps bringing in the ratings. Other online sources direly predict that GH is not fine, and it is only a matter of time, short time, before it, too, is on the chopping block to make way for cheaper reality-TV fare. (How’s September 2012 work for you?) Apparently Food Network’s Rachael Ray and Mario Batali, one of the hosts of one of the new lifestyle replacement shows (to take over AMC’s slot), The Chew, didn’t seem to mind that hundreds of jobs are on the line and a piece of Americana just went out the window—all for the latest fad of reality-TV makeovers, which are supposedly cheaper to make.

At the same time that the announcement of AMC and OLTL’s cancellation was made online, Steve Burton’s (Jason) Twitter wall had a curious, offensive post on it promoting the sale of the now-collector’s item soap opera cookbook that he and Derk Cheetwood (Max) have been peddling for months now. The post took followers to a longer continuation:

>> Hey did you know Soap Dishes The Cook Book is going to be a........

Sent Thursday, April 14, 2011

Like I was saying Soap Dishes The Cook Book is sure to become a collectors edition. We had know idea how the landscape would change so much in Daytime but are very glad we got 35 of the top stars together in one book to benefit a charity we all believe strongly in. I just got off the phone with Derk and it seems with the news of OLTL & All My Children being canceled that the books are going faster than ever. It seems people know since this is our last Re-print of the book they want to make sure they have a piece of Daytime History Forever.

We just got news that the books are done printing and will be shipped no later than the 20th to anyone who ordered a book. Of course in time for Mothers Day. I don't want to sound like we keep saying the same thing but the coupon and the cancellation of the shows is causing quite an ordering frenzy so if you want to make sure you get one click the link below and get copies reserved for you and your friends. We were hoping we would have enough to offer at the fan club weekends but really don't think we will make it.

Again thanks for all your support, it just shows what great fans we really have!!

God Bless,

Steve Burton

After some people protested the tacky sell, Burton came on to issue a personal apology, stating that it wasn’t him or Cheetwood, but a marketing firm they’d hired to tweet promos on both their walls:

>> A personal message from me.

Sent Thursday, April 14, 2011

Hello Everyone,

Needless to say I have learned a lesson. First and foremost Derk & I would like to apologize for the blog broadcast sent earlier today. Derk hired a marketing firm a little over a month ago and have been giving them some leeway to post on mine and Derk's various social networking sites. It was brought to my attention earlier this evening that a blog was released through my fan e-mail list that offended some of you. Well, it offended me too.

These were not my or Derk's words, which most of you who know me, could tell that. The firm in which we NO LONGER work with does not understand the close bond between you guys and us.

After finding out about it on TWITTER at dinner. I read the blog post and was very upset at the tone they took in communicating something that we and all fans of Daytime have been hurt by. Yes, I am an entrepreneur but NO WAY would I try to profit from the misfortune of AMC and OTLT. I love daytime and have always been an advocate for it. I am parting ways with the marketing firm and take complete control of the book and it's marketing so that this sort of thing NEVER happens again. Tough lesson learned today. Don't let someone talk for you.

Again we would like to apologize and I want you to know that anything posted on either site will be from me. As always, thanks for you support and understanding.

Sincerely and much luv,

Steve Burton >>

When a follower called him on it, Burton promptly blocked this person, who wound up sending me links to the original tweets. As an FYI, he or his marketing firm was also promoting the Port Chuck CD.

First of all, marketing firm? Secondly, are all of these soap fartknockers speaking through marketing firms we don’t yet know about (explains why they rarely reply to the lot of us)? And thirdly, what kind of a marketing firm can’t spell past the third-grade level? Burton can’t spell either, hmm…

Laura “Mrs. Awesome!!!!!!!!!!” Wright (Carly) won fans and influenced people by tweeting a platitude or two about the AMC/OLTL cancellation, then chirped up about bringing some new faces to GH, ignoring the faces that were fired and the faces that make up the veterans that we long to see more of.

In a bit of wishful thinking perhaps, someone named Silas is going around online saying that maybe ABC Daytime president Brian Frons will get what’s coming to him and get fired himself. This ******* had the audacity to joke around about entering a witness protection program after the announcement was made to cancel AMC and OLTL…while many soap fans cried from the loss.

GH wanted Tamara Braun (ex-Carly; ex-Reese, AMC) to come back for a role, but she didn’t say what kind of a role—a new one or to take over as Carly. Instead, Braun opted to go with DOOL, where she is now. Good, stay there. Couldn’t stand your acting then, and can’t stand it now.

Is anyone else concerned about how the demise of all these soaps will effect the quality of actors in general? I mean, soap work always has had the reputation of being a great training ground for budding actors/actresses. I know Demi Moore, Larry Hagman, and a number of actors got their start on soaps. I'm concerned that this great learning experience will no longer be available.

Because she’s kept babysitter Kristina drugged up, Lisa is now able to get into Patrick and Robin’s compound and to Emma.
Patrick and Robin enjoy their evening out as a loving married couple together, believing their daughter is in safe hands with babysitter Krissy, entirely oblivious to Lisa’s antics.
As Lisa slithers inside Patrick and Robin’s house toward Emma, Patrick makes his way inside.

Next week: Sam has her miracle baby-making treatment at GH… Brenda snaps at Sonny for being an apathetic jerk, because of Lucian… Lucian will turn out not to be Brenda’s after all… Jax resumes his custody fight for Josslyn up against Carly… Jason forcibly makes his way onto Johnny’s property to do some digging… Luke agrees to rehab, as his portrayer goes on vacation (but you’ll see the rehab)… Ethan calls on Luke to share some booze… Images of Jake continue to dog Elizabeth… Siobhan whisks Lucky away for a lovely holiday at a cabin, away from the family drama… Lucky and Siobhan are about to be man and wife when Elizabeth charges in with important paternity info.

I read where Lucian is going to turn out to not be Brenda's. Do you think her son is alive somewhere? I haven't really been watching, just reading the previews.

Yes I think he is. They showed a quick scene last week I think where Suzanne was on the phone with someone and said something about grandma being almost done here and would be there soon.
