True enough about the characters over 40. They have a more mature cast in addition to the array of mindless teenage crapola. While I appreciate that about OLTL....I'm totally turned off by the "Tess, Jess" storyline. Between her and "Vickie/Nickie"...the storyline is ICKIE! :laughing:They are really beating a dead horse with that stuff. :rolleyes1
I was a little disappointed with Luke yesterday. All about himself. He really did belong at the hospital with Lucky..(or unlucky as I call him most of the time, whoever named that kid sure jinxed him).

I actually enjoy Tess, although I admit since I haven't watched in years, it might be that I don't mind because it's relatively new to me. I'm hoping they don't spend much time on the teens (really, tweens!), because from what I've seen so far (and I admit it's only been a week) Jack can't act, and the bullying storyline isn't even logical. Used to love Starr -- and can I say I can barely recognize Blair? She looks like a stepford mom instead of a feisty force! I generally like what I see so far -- how can you go wrong with David Vickers?! :mickeybar

Luke Spencer is the hit and run driver. That's a twist that I didn't see coming. Of course, the man inhales the alcohol. It should really be interesting to see how all of this plays out with everyone involved.

This one's got me scratching my head! Storywise, the most likely suspects were Lisa and Theo. We already know they're both crazy and self-centered and could have hit Jake without a thought while focusing on their own agendas. But Luke? Yes, he's a drinker, but it would make the accident that much more senseless if he'd been drinking. And how will Luke and Lucky ever be able to have a close relationship again? From now on, they will always have this between them. Then again, wasn't there a rumor that Tony Geary might be leaving the show? It would make sense for him to feel so guilty and unable to face Lucky that he eventually disappears into the sunset. Either that or he'll beat himself up and become so self-destructive that Lucky will come to feel like he's suffered enough and forgive him.

I also thought I read somewhere that Tony was leaving. I wonder if he will just disappear once he realizes that he was the driver??? I can't see him going to trial.

If Luke did it, even by accident, Jason may take him out so he better get the heck out of dodge.

I thought I read that it seems like it was Luke for awhile, but it isn't. I hope it is not him.

I read some theories about the accident on Facebook last night. This one seems pretty reasonable: We all assume that the sedan with forged plates that was on the suspect list belong to the Balkan. Perhaps it actually belonged to one of Franco's people who hit Jake and then planted the DNA evidence on Luke's car. This one is pretty far-fetched: Perhaps Franco's man grabbed Jake and planted a dead blonde boy with massive head trauma on the road. His injuries were so extensive and Elizabeth was so upset that she thought it was Jake. Franco actually has Jake, alive and well. Like I said, pretty far-fetched, but interesting nonetheless. I'm thinking that after several torturous months for Luke and Lucky, it will be revealed that Luke wasn't really the driver and that he was framed. Franco appeared yesterday to mess with Carly. We know he's watching everyone in PC!

I didn't see the episodes when Jake was hit and afterwards in the hospital, but did they actually show his face and we could see it was Jake? That would be an interesting theory that he's still alive and Franco has him. I can see Franco doing that to get to Jason. Who could the little boy that died actually be then? Seems pretty far fetched.

General Hospital has had some pretty far fetched plots before. Actually when Lucky was assumed dead all those years ago in the fire, we later found out that Helena had him. Now if Helena had him, then who was the burned boy that Luke and Laura identified? Also why was Helena never prosecuted for that hideous act? Talk about reliving past plots. It's just too twisted and sick if Jake is somewhere safe and sound, and another child lay on that operating table. I really doubt that. Elizabeth knows her child. So does, Patrick and Robin, who were in the operating room, and after all isn't there going to be a funeral? I really think the writers of General Hospital are scrapping the bottom of the barrel when then write this stuff. However, I guess I can't judge too badly, since they have me on the edge of my seat with what is going to happen next. I was around when Tony Jones lost his daughter BJ, and allowed Maxie to have her heart. That whole entire story was heartbreaking. This one is heartbreaking as well, and I would really love to see them do a rehabilitation of Luke Spencer, because of the tragedy that was caused because he chose to drink and drive. Alcoholism is an illness, and it should follow that if Luke did this while intoxicated, it should keep Lucky away from returning to the same addiction his dad has.

Speaking of GH writing, do you remember when Lisa kidnapped Robin, they found a nurse dead in the stairwell and thought Lisa did it? We are supposed to forget that I guess. I don't think they ever mentioned it again.

Wasn't Jake on life support though? Didn't both Lucky and Elizabeth see him and were with him when he was removed from life support. They didn't recognize their own son.
While I realize that supposedly the boy had a serious brain injury, and perhaps (big stretch there) his face was injured as well. As a MOTHER...I know I would recognize almost any part of my baby's body at that age. I find it VERY hard to believe that bodies could have been switched and that it isn't Jake. I'm not saying the writers wouldn't do it..but it just isn't believable as far as I'm concerned. While we were lead to believe Lucky died in that fire, his body was supposedly burned beyond recognition. I just don't see this to be the case with Jake. I think he's dead..but who actually ran him over is another story. Also what I find curious, is that suddenly Elizabeth lives on a busy road? REALLY? :confused3

So many rumors fly around about these soap operas. Sometimes, it's hard to get the actual events striaght in one's head, when we read so many different scenarios of what people think will happen.

It's also not unusual for history to be changed. I have seen it happen many times. So much so, that when anybody dies, not too many people want to believe it.

I think anything is possible. First its a soap so anything goes. Also they have rewritten the story several times since they decided to keep RH. I think they will work Franco into this somehow. He did know Jake was Jason's son.. We will have to wait and see.

How much longer before they wrap up the Lisa story line? And since Nik and BrookLyn are both leaving do you guys think they will leave together? Or she will leave and then he will find out that the baby isn't his and he will go after her????

I don't know if we ever see Lucky or Liz with Jake. I know that when they first got there they made a point of saying that there was no time for either of them to see Jake. Then after he died (or when he was on life support I guess), Liz said she couldn't take seeing him like that and Lucky went to see him but had a hard time going into the room. I don't think they ever showed either of them actually with him.
Of course, I hate this whole story line.

Can I just vent here for a minute? Now, mind you, most of you know I am a Jason/Liz supporter so with that being said...the writers couldn't even give us a decent couple of scenes with them? They couldn't even have them hug over the loss of the child they shared? Liz couldn't give the motorcycle back to Jason and tell him to keep it? I thought it was lousy writing (along with everything else) that they only gave them 2 crappy scenes and no real closure...or maybe I missed something

Gossip for the week of 28-Mar-2011
by Carol Banks Weber

As far as RavenBeauty understands, head writer Bob Guza Jr. really will have to depart his GH post, sooner than later. Nothing’s changed. “Oh and many have asked me about that piece I left regarding a major shake up at ABC that nobody would see coming that did not involve the actors, and yes it was Guza. It is still Guza, and that retraction by one of the magazines was actually very amusing (and rather telling).” –March 22, 2011 update

Head writer Bob Guza Jr. may see his contract go un-renewed. It’s due in April. Insiders claim his relationship with the higher-ups have suffered. Expect the usual denials and “vicious rumor” obfuscation… like we’re idiots who’ve never been through this prom before.

Guza’s latest child-killing story hasn’t endeared him to fans who’ve had it. The disgust is so bad that NY Post’s Michael Starr wrote, “4-year-old's soap death enrages 'General Hospital' fans” for his March 23rd update. In the update, he included GH fans’ complaints with the story, including one woman who asked why a family company like Disney approved of such an anti-family story to air on daytime. Of course a show spokesperson responded with the usual PR nonsense. “While the tragic death of Jake Webber brings unspeakable heartache to his family and all of Port Charles, this is a story of love and redemption in the face of devastating loss. More dramatic and life-altering moments will develop as the show moves forward.” What does that mean, they’re gonna have baby Aiden tortured by random terrorists and then have his guts explode from some random neuro-toxin next? All for art, I gather. Well in that case…

This story of love and redemption in the face of devastating loss was its usual rushed, unrealistic slap in the face to real parents with real children suffering from real cancer and real hit ‘n runs. No preparation before a kidney transplant. An overturn of action and reaction in one day/one week. Everything pointing toward the propulsion of Jason and Sam, and their rumored miracle baby. Characters who’ve never cared or interacted to show they cared, suddenly dusted off and paraded out with their crocodile tears like Jake’s death mattered to them. Kristina blocking Abby from Michael in the midst of Josslyn’s kidney cancer scare, learning nothing from her own abusive past. Extended family – Quartermaines, Bobbie, Audrey – kept out of this all-important story to focus on the usual stage hogs and supercouple campaigns. Don’t insult our intelligence, ABC Daytime. This isn’t a story of love and redemption. It’s a way for the remaining actors to hold on to their jobs, some of those actors to get off on cheap emotional larceny, and TPTB to capitalize on terrorizing children for quick spikes in ratings.

SPW listed two blind items that might be pertinent to two GH actors: “One increasingly loud-mouthed actor is attracting the attention of their budget-conscious powers-that-be. … Another actor/actress who had fans upset over his/her possible exit knows they’re not going anywhere.” You decide.

A lot of GH fans were shocked and unhappy to see that Luke was the hit ‘n run driver. But don’t be. According to ABC Soaps in Depth on Twitter, Luke’s Tony Geary isn’t. “He knew going in. Spoke to him about it this week.”
