To be fair, I haven't gone through all the posts on this thread, but, I don't get how people can say they prefer the old system where you could plan on the day. You got one FP, if you went to Epcot for Soarin' or TT or DHS for TSM and despite dashing at rope drop you could only get a FP for mid afternoon at the earliest, what would you do, have no FP or get that one and not be able to get another one for the rest of the day? It didn't matter if I was at the front at RD at DHS and no matter how fast my little legs went I would spend 15 minutes minimum queuing to get the FP, usually behind tour guides feeding several dozen tickets in watching the time go later and later and never got a FP earlier than 4.30pm, so do I get it and not be able to get another FP, because you cannot cancel it once you got it or do without? Similar with Soarin', luckily I could always head over to SRL for TT, but, that's not the point. I love the new system, I get Soarin' or TSM without the hoo ha and another two on top. I'm not tech savvy, I barely know how to use my cell phone, but, I have had no issues at all with MDE or FP+, maybe I just got lucky or maybe I appreciate the difference it makes and I'm more flexible and work out my park visits around what I get rather than the other way around.
If you pulled a tsm legacy fp at 9:00 with a return time of 4:30 you would have been able to get another fp at 11:00, could have gotten one for rnrc for about 1:00, gotten a tot fp at 1:00 for about 2:30 and then could have used fp at star tours or other rides that didn't need it as much. The advantage to the old system was the ability to get multiple e ticket fps at Epcot and dhs whereas now you can only get soarin or Tt and tsm or rnrc.
It was easy to get fps for both of these rides with legacy if you were there at rope drop
