The Future of Fast Pass Plus

ahhhhhhhhhhh so if your statement is accurate........:scratchin.....these complainers had a loophole/process that benefited them, allowed them to hoard FP's........to the detriment of other park visitors. Now Disney has closed that loophole.....and their upset. :scratchin

Really...............:rotfl2: From my point of view they're bad sharers! If your statement is accurate....

Now lets see how many come back to deny what you wrote :wave2:

That's a popular myth around here. For a period of time while they were using both systems at once, a lot of the safeguards were turned off of the original FP system such that you could use some old park tickets to get fastpasses. Some people discovered the loophole and bragged about using it here and other places. Somehow the perception grew that lots of people had always been hoarding old tickets and getting extra fastpasses, and those were the people unhappy with the new system.

So now whenever we discuss the flaws of the new system some folks go straight to "you're just mad you can't ride Soarin' a dozen times a day anymore!"

They don't seem to mind that we already have reports of people coming to the park with a pocket book full of season pass magic bands to use all day in a similar manner.

I was making no value judgments, only trying to intuit what the PP was saying regarding how FP+ would destroy their way of touring using previous arguments that were leveled regarding the impact. I never used FP- because I specifically didn't like racing around and gathering them. I could care less how many you got and how you got them. I was only trying to answer doug's question absent a response from the PP. If you have an issue, it is with yourself and inserting judgment where it was absent.

Was wondering about that. Wasn't sure if the MB had to be used for entry or not, hut according to your post...not yet? Hmmm....sounds like a money making opportunity. Buy some APs and then "rent" them out for a certain price.

How does FP+ effect the "average guest"?

In the end I will say: positively.

I think the average guest was pretty clueless about legacy FP. I think right now, the average guest is pretty clueless about FP+.

But I think Disney will keep promoting FP+ and eventually the average guest will use it more, and be happy, because before they used nothing.

LOL, that argument is so 2013. :lmao: And 2012...... maybe even 2011.

We all know the ship is sailed. At this point many of us are willing to make do with a system we are less than excited about .......... if it just worked properly.

ArwenMarie said she spent 2 hrs trying to get room key on MB. 2 hrs is a long time in my opinion. Especially if it's 2 hrs at the beginning of a day at rope drop. I can easily get 6 rides during 2 hrs first thing in the morning. And if I missed A&E or 7dmt I would most certainly expect to be compensated b/c now I have to use a 2hr standby line.

It was also at the beginning of rollout..I mean "testing", sorry

You must be new here. :rotfl:That line of "reasoning" was long ago tired out.

I wish the availability for the end of Sept was as open as what you have seen. With the parks closing earlier, MNSSHP, and free dining things have booked up quickly. I'm there will be cancellations, people changing plans, etc, but I was very surprised at how soon things became unavailable. It will be our first trip with FP+ so I don't have personal experience to report yet.

Same here. At 1:00 am on my 30-day window I checked FP+ availability for MK. No A&E (of course), no 7DMT, no FoF Parade, no Wishes. 7DMT is the one we were concerned about. We've checked back periodically ever since--no availability.

We'll keep checking, but I think we're going to be left with the options of (a)running with the bulls at Rope Drop; (b)waiting in a long standby line or (c)not doing 7DMT. Not the end of the world, but definitely a diminishing of our experience over Legacy FP.

Guess I can just wait for them to put in FP- for 7DMT like they did for A&E last week. All aboard the "100% reservation system" train!

You can also just buy separate admission media to get extra fp+

FYI I checked 7dmt fp+ all morning- they ran out at 11:15 eastern time this morning- up until them they were available

I'm just curious what % of people have had their FPs completely nuked and not reinstated. I'd guess in my 6 weeks on this board I've seen maybe 12 people had them wiped out and maybe 3 who claimed Disney told them to go screw. During this time park days have been mostly 8-10s as far as crowds go, which can be 30-50K walking in the gates daily. Anybody who has used a Monthly NYC MetroCard for public transportation is likely to have had some major problem with their card annually. A far more important ticket than Disney who it appears is experiencing a less than .10% occurrence of this happening.

An you can't say it is happening to people who don't post here in one breath and then claim people who don't post here are unaware about the system and don't plan FPs in another post.

If they caused you to miss an ADR, they will give you another one if you tell them. ArwenMarie already said she didn't ask for anything so how would they know she had one at the front desk. They aren't just going to throw 100 dollar bills in the air.

But how many are you checking for? 1 fp+ is hardly useful for a family thst wishes to ride something as a family.

I don't see your point here. Yes, it was during testing, but I was still on my vacation that I paid for. I didn't get a discount because it was a test. In fact, not one CM even apologized for all of the time that was wasted. Wow.

I did miss an ADR, but it was before the $10 pp charge. I didn't ask for anything because I don't need anything from them. An apology would have been nice.

My main point is that their customer service stinks, including their attitudes towards what they call guests, and there is a lot more that they could do in these situations than they do.

At least if I lost my.ticket I had no one to blame but myself. I wouldn't like it, but can take responsibility for my actions. This isn't true anymore. B/c the system is glitchtastic, I can walk up and scan my band and the Mickey head doesn't turn green. Through no fault of my own...just the darn glitch system.

Glitchtastic is now my new favorite word.

(It's bumping SuperUser.)
