If you've been putting off getting the Furminator for your pet because of the high price, now is the time to get it! :cool1: It has close to 3000 positive Amazon reviews. This brush is no gimmick.

Adding: Click on the Medium button if you want one for a cat. (Color of brush does not matter.)

Here is the original Furminator thread on the DIS of people's reviews of it here:

Here's one of many Youtube videos of people brushing their pets and it looks like shearing sheep! (Only there is still hair on the dog. :))YouTube Furminator

Here is a cat being Furminated, Youtube video, (for equal time:)

I got the medium size for my cat, so I wouldn't have to take so many swipes over her as I would if I had gotten a small brush. I have used it on her for two shedding seasons, and there are no more dust bunnies or hairball problems! :cool1:

Hmm..intriguing. Thanks for posting - I wanted to try one but never could get myself to spend the big bucks for it. My little aussie shepherd sure seems like a perfect candidate for it!

I bought a furminator this summer to brush my cats with, it was the best thing I ever bought for them. I would definately recommend it.

Thinking about ordering one. Does it come with something to sedate kitty with? :goodvibes

My cat won't let me get her belly and it's getting matted up. I don't know what to do.

Just bought a medium one for $9.90 - seems like a great price for all the reviews it gets ) for me and 2 others for gifts (however shipping was 14.99) but divided by 3 still not a bad gift item for for 2 of my friends who have pets this holiday season (we all live with our lint brushes ;)!)

Cats actually like th be brushed with the Furminator. I don't pull on my kitty's hair like in that Youtube video, and she has short hair. But, other than her tail, in which the furminator seem st pull on the hair, and I end up using her regular brush on it, she likes to be brushed with it.

Here's another youtube video of a kitty on her belly getting brushed. Maybe you need to clip away the matted parts for now, and once you are able to Furminate the thicker hairs regularly, it will keep the matting down?

WHA-AT? How did shipping end up as $14.99 for you? On the Amazon website, in very small letters, it says shipping is supposed to be $4.99. :scratchin

Okay, I just added it to my cart and went to pay and i was only charged the $4.99 shipping. :confused3 Maybe there was a glitch in your order? Or maybe it adds on more shipping if you order more than one. :(

I bought a Furminator, at full price mind you, and it does nothing for my dog. I get much more hair off of her with a regular paddle type brush. I tried to sell it at my garage sale, but there were no takers. :lmao:

Thanks for posting!

Your link - is that for a dog or is that brush for dogs and cats? I noticed there is a different one on Amazon for cats that is a little more expensive and only 1 size.

Should I buy the cat one or the does the one in your link work fine for cats?

TIA!

The dog one works just fine for cats. We have the medium dog one (it is yellow) and it works great on our cats too.

love ours! With three labs, this things sure comes in handy during shedding season... which is all year long. lol

Thank you so much! I have this product but it was wearing out and I needed a new one.:thumbsup2

Just click on the button for the Medium size which is $9.85 + $4.99 s/h.

The color does NOT matter in terms of using the brush. :)

love the furminator! We end up using a pin brush on our Golden's tail and butt fringes, but the furminator works so well on her body, it continues to amaze me everytime we use it.

You convinced me, I just ordered one for my lab. She sheds like crazy, I'll love it if I can get most of her hair off outside with this instead of inside all over my floor.

Here are my directions for not getting hair all over as I Furminate. The first several times, especially during shedding season, you may see at first as much hair as in the Youtube videos. But, when you brush regularly, it's more of a maintenence thing. On my kitty, not as much comes off with each brushing. :)

I now clean the brush off directly into a paper towel. Fold the towel in half so it has a crease. Open it back up and hold it with the crease in the center of your non-brushing hand. After you have brushed, fold the napkin around the brush and pull the hair directly into the fold of the napkin and ently press the napkin so the hair is in a compressed bunch. This way it's not flying around & loose, for when you repeat and clean the brush after the next brushful. The motion is like if you were wiping butter off a fork.

I can now brush my kitty when she's sitting next to me on the couch, (instead of chasing her around,) without having hair flying all over the place. :goodvibes
