As we woke up the next morning and I reflected on the great day we had at Epcot, I thought about how my family, meaning my parents and my brothers, always comes with me when I am at the World without them. We always traveled to St. Petersburg Beach in Florida every summer for vacation when I was growing up. It didnt stop until my parents divorced when I was in my mid twenties. Every other year or so, Dad would make the wonderful stop at Disney for a two day adventure at the end of our beach trip before making the long drive home. We were never there for more than two days. I have thought many times how expensive it must have been for him to take four kids to Disney. I guess that is why he made all of us cram into one room at a Days Inn while we were there. I have three older brothers, so they were all teenagers when I was old enough to really remember our trips. Our last family trip included my parents, two of my three brothers, one girlfriend and yours truly. I am going to guess that I was 10, but I remember that trip vividly. Well, I remember the Epcot part of it at least. Our pictures from that trip include many of my Daddys behind. My brother had gotten really irritated with my Dad, so therefore he kept snapping pictures of his A double S since he was being one. I get the giggles every time I think about it. Also, my brothers went in to the restroom together and when the youngest figured out the oldest was dropping off the kids at the pool, he held the camera over the stall and snapped a fine photo that to this day, still gives us cramps from laughing so hard at it.
I have many wonderful and fine memories of my trips to the World with my family, and I am so happy that I can do the same for my kids. I was speaking to my brother just the other day about our trip and he said, you know the neat thing about Disney is that when you walk though those gates, it is like walking back into your past. My family unit is never going to be the same because there have been so many changes to it. Some good, some bad. However, when I go back, I feel like the little girl who dreamed of being a princess while sitting on her Daddys shoulders or holding her Mommys hand. I find myself starting my sentences while speaking to my kids with when I was a little girl
all the time while we are there. It brings back so many good vibes. I think that is part of the magic for me. It was magical for me when I was little and it is magical to me now when I see my kids having the time of their lives. Hopefully, when they are older they arent going to go around taking pictures of my behind while were there! Mr. Frick did that to me last year, but for different reasons. Apparently my new sweat pants I had bought kept creeping up on me & he walked behind me and laughed a lot.
OK, back to the story. Im sure you all want to hear how I made money by valet parking my car. We will be getting there in a few days, so hang with me!
I threw a zip-loc baggie full of clothes, underwear and socks at my boys and got myself ready for Animal Kingdom. We wanted to get there early so we decided to eat there at a bakery/coffee place I had read about rather than going to the POR food court. I started thinking about what a crappy room location we had gotten. It took us forever the night before to drive from the lobby of the hotel back to our mansion. I knew there was no way we could ever walk to get breakfast or walk to the pool given that we were in East Bumble. I started wishing I had done a little more research about room locations at POR. I was far, far away from everything and it made me sad. Good thing we had a car!
We loaded up, Big Frickles remembered to shut his door this time, and we headed to AK.
The last time we were at AK, Big Frickles was 1 and a half and I was 5 months pregnant. It wasnt so much of a good time so we werent too depressed that we missed out on going there in December. This time was different though because Big Frickles and I were super pumped about riding EE!!! I forgot to review my Tour Guide Mike suggestions, but I didnt worry because I thought crowds would be low. Wrong. It was packed when we got there. The process of getting through the bag check and the front gate was icky. We were also very unfamiliar with this park, so when I wanted to grab our fast passes for EE, I couldnt just say that I would go alone and then meet them somewhere. The bakery that I wanted us to eat at was on the opposite end of the park as my sweet EE fast pass machine. The whole family had to walk with me. We passed a coffee stand on the way and decided to have big , fat chocolate chip muffins for breakfast. Yummmmy! I parked the family at a table and ran to get our Fast Passes. Again, if you saw a horse running at AK on Sept 29th, that was me.

Oh seeing EE for the first time was awesome! Disney hides so much of their roller coasters that it baffles me. I like not knowing what is inside or what to expect! I couldnt wait to ride it!
I rejoined my precious guys who were enjoying a little side show by these boys.
After we finished up our lovely muffins while being serenaded by two loud gorillas, we were off to Kali River Rapids. I was shocked that Lil Frick didnt chicken out. Pirates scares him to death because of the drop. I didnt know anything about Kali other than you take a little raft ride and you get wet, so with that description he was o.k. with it. I keep on talking about YAKs tips, but she pulled through for me again on this trip! I whipped out the big 5 gallon zip-loc sized bag that she had told us about, and put my backpack, our camera & Mr. Fricks cell phone in it. I didnt have to worry about our stuff getting soaked so I was jazzed about that tip. Thanks Yak!
As soon as our boat took off, I saw it. The ramp that takes you up. Oh no. If we were going up, that meant we were coming back down. I worried about Lil Frick. He was going to be mad, mad, mad at me. It turned out that he giggled the whole time! Phew! We loved this ride! Big Frickles and I decided that we wanted to ride again. Mr. Frick said that he was happy with the one ride and Lil Frick declined another go round as well. Since there was no line, Big Frickles and I loaded up for another trip. Lil Frick paid us back for me not telling him about the drop by spraying us like mad when we went under the bridge. Sweet justice for him Id say. I think that was his favorite part of the trip! He got us good.
After Kali we did some animal trail where you can see these
Now Mr. Frick and I had a great time on this trail. We couldnt tell you what animals were there because we were too busy watching the girl in front of us. We were hysterically laughing at her choice for an outfit and about the fact that her date let her walk around in it and the fact that she got dressed and then looked in the mirror and thought Wow I look good. I have her picture downloaded and ready to share, but I just cant do it. Ill describe it for you. She was a good size 12 that was squeezed in to a pair of size 4 white, terry-cloth shorts. Her cheeks were hanging out of the bottom of the shorts and she opted for a pair of white bikini underwear rather than a thong that would hide the panty lines. For her top, she chose a triangle string bikini. White. She topped off the outfit with a pink cowboy hat. Uh-huh. Looking good. We caught up with her again while walking to EE and I had to get a picture. Mr. Frick had tears he was laughing so hard and the people behind us were laughing at the fact that I was snapping a photo of her. Bless her. May she get some fashion sense and stop scaring the children with her hanging out hiney.
We were finally clear to ride EE! I wanted to do the Clark run, but I walked slowly with my tired family instead. When we got there, I felt just like Clark did when Wally World was closed. EE was having some technical difficulties. Shoot. I remember Yaks report where all her daughter wanted to do was ride EE for her birthday and she didnt get to because of the same thing. I had to remember that the glass is half-full
.so we took the boys to DinoLand while we waited.
Big Frickles and I took a spin on Primeval Twirl (funny how Soarin made me sick and that didnt) while Lil Frick and Mr. Frick flew on a Triceratops. We caught an awesome trampoline show, fought off some love bugs and played a couple of fair Imgonnatakeallyourmoneyandripyouoffbecauseyoucanneverwin games where luckily, the boys each won something. Pixie dust!
We dragged our very hot and very tired selves over to a drink stand where the boys had to have a fan.
I didnt think we would have to buy one of those, but it was smokin hot. We headed toward EE and I knew that if it wasnt up and running, that we were going to miss out. Thankfully, we could hear the roar of the coaster and the screams of happy riders as we got closer. We left Mr. Frick and Lil Frick to watch a side show with plans to meet them in the EE gift shop. HaHa
I had a chance to run, so we ran. Big Frickles didnt much want to run
but Clark here wanted to run so we ran. We were loaded up in a car in no time! Panic soon hit me though. JoMomma had told me NOT to put the kids on the coasters. I started worrying about any heart defects that Big Frickles might have. I worried about him freaking out because this was by far the biggest coaster he had ever ridden. I worried about my sunglasses falling out. I worried I was becoming my mother. EEEEKKK!
I looked at my brave and excited boy and decided to put my big girl panties on and just roll with it. I stopped worrying and started giggling with joy as we rock and rolled on that mother. It is the best roller coaster I think I had ever been on. I didnt really know a whole lot about what to expect, but it lived up to its good reviews! Big Frickles loved it and he said Momma, I saw that Wookie! Did you see the Wookie. A wookie. How cute is that.
We met up with Mr. Frick and before he and Big Frickles left to ride EE, I made him promise not to tell his Daddy about all the surprises that were in store. They rode it and loved it! Woooo-hoooo! And no one had heart failure!
We headed for Mr. Fricks favorite ride, the K. Safari. I didnt get to ride it last time because I was pregnant so I was looking forward to it. Lil Frick freaking hit the floor whenever the fake gun shots were fired near the end. Bless him. Other than that, we all enjoyed it. I totally skipped an ADR we had for Rainforest Café. Four hours at AK seriously wiped us out. We were hot and tired and ready to go back to our most crappily located room in the boon-docks of POR.
Tune in later for an eye-opening Surrey bike ride and
MNSSHP!!!
