Here's my dress for the wedding. :) http://www1.macys.com/shop/product/...T_TYPE=Dresses&sp=1&spc=1236&ruleId=&slotId=2

After I found it, I was thinking how familiar it looked, and realized I had pinned it on Pinterest months ago, with the hope I'd find something LIKE it. :teeth: I didn't want anything too "mother of the bride-y."

Mare, I haven't been following this thread much, but I just wanted to say "HI!" and I love the dress! Congratulations on the wedding! (and I miss all of my "just a place" friends so much).

In case you haven't overdosed on JA, there's a new show "Murder Made Me Famous" and she snagged the first episode, Saturday at 9 PM on Reelz. Well, maybe I can get a good Juan fix. If nothing else, I can pick apart how they present the story. ;)

I was suprised by the Holmes verdict, but maybe I shouldn't have been. I hate the "mentally ill" defense. Seems like the more heinous the crime, the sicker the perpetrator, the more likely to be called "mentally ill" and therefore not be fully responsible. Holmes knew what he was doing, period.

I saw the commercial for this last night and was just coming to post it. Isn't it funny that we (as a group) know more about this murder and trial than most accounts presented on TV or in the media? I'm really hoping Juan's book gives us something more because these media accounts bore me, but I am gonna watch this Murder Made Me Famous series, at least this one.

I can't wait for Juans book. I love dresses. But we don't go any where classy for me to wear something like that. Is anyone interested in watching the next trial for Aaron H? I think it starts in Dec, if I remember right.

Hey there.
I will definitely watch AH #2, didn't miss a day of the first one.

I'm gonna pass on the Aaron Hernandez trial, at least for now. I'm hoping to get a lot done around here when the weather cools, but if y'all have a thread, I'll definitely pop in to say hi. .

Deb! How are ya?! Good to see you. Thanks, about the dress. :)
I love the dress!
Thank you!
Its beautiful!!!!
I bet you are beyond excited.
How is your grand daughter, she must be so big now?
Thank you! I actually have the dress in one size in navy and one size in black, and I'm keeping both. I'm wearing the navy in the bigger size, but it's such a great dress, I'm hanging on to the smaller black one for when I lose more weight.

My granddaugher is 3 1/2 now. :) Such a little sweetie. :littleangel: She's going to be a flowergirl in the wedding! :bride: (<--- What is that smilie supposed to be? LOL)

Ugh, I hate the media. I always want to scream at the TV when they get facts wrong, and that's way too often.

I'm not into dresses either! That's why finding this dress was a THRILL! I also have terrible feet (hopefully having surgery after Christmas) and today found what so far seem to be comfortable shoes, so thrilled again! And they're EXACTLY what I had in mind. :) Of course, walking more than the 20 steps I walked in the store might change that, but lately I've tried on shoes that hurt immediately without taking a step. Working down my wedding To Do List, slowly but surely.
Me either , it was interesting wasn't it? we could keep using this one if mare don't mind to talk about it.
I don't know if I'll watch Aaron Hernandez trial. Will probably depend on what's going on IRL at the time. I only watched the early testimony in the last trial, because it was about the crime scene, which is an area I know, so it held my interest to that extent. I don't care if you use this thread. It's not "MY" thread! The only thing I would say tho is that if it becomes very much an Aaron Hernandez thread, then if something comes up about Jodi Arias, people might not see it if they're just not coming here because it's all about Aaron Hernandez, KWIM? But...there's time to think about it.

We can make one for Aaron , it's no big deal…

I just read on CNN that Oscar Pistorius will likely be released on Friday due to jail over crowding.
I am shaking my head about this. When you kill someone should you really be released after serving less than a year?
Its just beyond belief.
I heard on one of the news channels that he has spent most of his time in the prison hospital, so he hasn't been out in the general population.

It really isn't, either way.

I'll preface this by saying, again, that I didn't watch the whole trial, so I don't know if I'd feel differently, but I don't see him as a "murderer" in the same way as Jodi Arias, or many others. I think there was some questionable evidence presented, and that viewing it from the viewpoint of Americans, not living in the dangerous environment of his world (the crime, and his disability), doesn't give as clear a picture of the situation. JMHO Also, I don't know why he's been in the hospital (do you?) but I wonder if it's because they just aren't set up to accommodate him and his disability in a prison? Someone did die at his hands, but the whole story (IMHO, but surely not in many others' opinions) isn't clear. Maybe, due to overcrowding, they had to evaluate each situation, and he just ended up in the pool of people who would be released based on a number of factors, like the likelihood of reoffending.

I often use this as an example of what I feel is justice...the Adam Kaufman case. Do I think he murdered his wife? Yes. Do I agree with the "not guilty" verdict? Yes. Too many unanswered questions, too many errors made in the investigation. Do I think this was justice? Yes. I'm kind of in the same position with Oscar Pistorius. I'm OK with him being released. There are many others I wouldn't be, like Jodi Arias, of course, Drew Peterson, Scott Peterson, James Holmes, etc...EVER.

Ever watch the show about John List, where they interview him in prison? Holy crap, that's quite the case. They had a show about the case yesterday, but not with the interview, so I found it on youtube. Chilling.

Never heard of John List , I will have to look that up and see. I am sure there are so many chilling story's from killers.

NO I don't know why he is at the hospital, but I too would guess, its about his leg.
I just feel that with the evidence they showed and some of his anger issues, he went after her(after an argument) and she ran into the bathroom and then he shot at the door to scare her, and he killed her, just MHO of course. So for me he needs to spend some more time paying for the crime. I believe the prosecutor is going back to court to repeal the judge's sentence, so that should be interesting.

Adam Kaufman, I 100% agree with you on that one. Something fishy happened there for sure.

Beautiful dress Mare! I am sure the wedding will be lovely.

I have not watched any other trials. I am not sure I will be up for another one.... Good to 'see' you all.

Thanks! :)

I think the Jodi Arias trial drained me, with long lasting effects. Not sure I can watch another either.

BTW, I saw on TMZ (which I happen to watch for their Josh Duggar story...the more self-righteous they are, the harder they fall) that Murder Made Me Famous with Jodi Arias was Reelz biggest premiere they ever had. Next story is Scott Peterson. I still haven't watched the Jodi Arias episode. I caught the end of it, and that male juror who felt that Travis verbally abused Jodi was speaking. That makes me crazy, because I strongly believe that he, and other men like him, would NEVER vote death for a woman, and that it's just not nice to talk to a girl like Travis did. Never mind that SHE was an abusive, stalking, brutal murderer lunatic.

If anyone missed the JA episode of Murder Made Me Famous, it will be repeated tomorrow (Saturday 8/22) night.

What channel was it on? I may have to record it. I would like to see the one for Scott Peterson.

It's on Reelz. Not sure what channel that is there.

I'm watching the Jodi Arias one now, but I'm not sure if I'm in the mood. Very early on, that juror is on, so I'm figuring he might be figuring in to the show a lot, and I can't stomach him. The actors playing Jodi and Travis are so "off", IMHO.

Yup, they keep popping in with that juror saying things like "she had low self esteem..." yadda yadda yadda. It's like the jury foreman show. Yuck.

Thank you! Never heard of that channel, but I guess I will have to channel surf….:rotfl:
