Following a survey of items of clothing 'What not to wear - ever!' I wondered how many of us were guilty of above mentioned fashion crimes :lmao:
please be honest and answer how many you have worn, wanted to wear, or worse still, still do wear.

p.s. I LOVED my ra-ra skirt!

I remember loving my bright pink shell suit. Yuk!

I had the most naff purple shell suit! I used to live in platform shoes when I was younger - in fact, I'd like another pair now, didn't realise they were such a big fashion mistake. I like the opportunity to see what tall feels like :lmao:

Laur's princess:

I had a fetching pale blue and mint green Adidas shellsuit, I thought I was it !
Also loved my platforrm shoes, nearly injured myself in several occasions !

I used to have bright pink ra ra skirt that had braces attached, I loved it as it was similar to what Kylie wore then. I also had cycling shorts and a shell suit, at least I have the excuse that I was only 8 when these 80s fashions were about! I had loads of cullotes, they were apart of my brownies and guides uniform.

The sad thing is I had a poncho in the 1970s. My nan (who lived with us) crocheted it for me and every time I came to wear it it was a little longer than before because she would often add a row or two of crochet while I was at school.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: Oh Libby that is so funny, you had a poncho that you could never outgrow :rotfl2:

I am guilt free on all accounts - suave and sophisticated all the way with me!!:thumbsup2

:lmao: i had a cool ra-ra skirt and a poncho ! i don't think i wore them together though

I had a shellsuit and some cullutes

I think we had the same shell suit! :rotfl:

The chavs wear them now don't they! They think they are cool! ;)

Yes, I was guilty of the shell suit too, but thankfully after years of therapy I have managed to erase what colour it was :rotfl: :rotfl:

Bloomin great platform shoes (well, it was the late seventies)
Kept falling off them and twisting my ankle. :rotfl:

Pictures of Dissers in Ra ra skirts please :cool1: :thumbsup2

Out of those I have worn a poncho - one of those crocheted ones and also big red stripey one (I was about 10), I have also worn many a pair of platform shoes. I also wore legwarmers over jeans, leggings etc during the "Fame" hysteria of the 1980s!

Does anyone actually have any old photos of themselves wearing any dodgy outfits or fashion mistakes?

Thank goodness that the bulk of these are way way before digital cameras :lmao:

Poncho? Check. Leg warmers? Check. Tank top? Check. Platform shoes? Oh yeah, baby! Culottes? Check. Well, I was a child of the 70s...

These weren't my worst fashion faux pas, though. What about hot pants with white PVC elastic topped boots? Full Bay City Rollers kit. My school uniform - trousers 45 inches at the hem, 3 button waistband and patch pockets on the sides, nylon check blouse with puff sleeves, 3 button cuffs and pear drop collar, hand-knitted jumper with 12 inch ribbing and platform sandals. :rotfl: Black shirt with fuschia footless tights (and nothing else :scared1: ). Olivia Newton-John stylie lycra pants and off-the-shoulder number with clear plastic stilleto mules. Floor length full skirt and Clarks' Polyveldts (what can I say, I was a Northern Soulie - back flips a speciality). Stayprest polyester trousers with "stirrups", white pointed kitten-heel stilletoes and a parka (what can I say, I was a mod revivalist). Pleated full velour trousers laced at the ankle with flat patent Mary-Janes and white blouson shirt with huge sleeves and front frill (what can I say, I was a New Romantic - but, in my defence, before it became "mainsteam" :rotfl: ).

I think I may have revealed too much :rolleyes1 .
