The Fabby LapuLapuettes Part IV: My Pineapple Needs a Refill!

Well we may still meet as our dates aren't really set in stone yet. I am really hoping that I will get an offer for free dining. I had free dining and free tickets with a code for the trip in May but there is no way we can afford it if we bring Lexi. I m actually hoping that I will be able to change my dates because my inlaws are going to be visiting us right before we leave and I wouldn't mind going the next week so I can get ready for our trip without having company at the same time.

There's still help for me, then! And I'll keep my fingers crossed for a free dining promotion for you. It's just fantastic, really helps a lot with the budget. :goodvibes

Yep, it was a bit scary steep for me too... even before I decided to cancel I had pretty much decided to switch to POR which I could get for 1/2 the price... I cannot fathom Disney without the dining plan anymore I am so spoiled... and it doesn't get any better than getting it free...

I totally understand. I did some pricing myself the other night, not by calling, just a guesstimate based on posted rates. The only way it would make sense to me is if I wanted to switch to a mod, but that would still cost me $500 more, so I think it's on a even keel if you get free dining a switch to the mod. I didn't check that. Anyway, I know that's not going to happen with the whole family coming, Pop it is!

The first one wasn't near as good as the other ones. The other ones I can't put down, but that first one was a bit rough around the edges. What don't you like about it? Then, I can plot my strategy to keep you reading it! :rotfl:

You know, I don't know. Maybe it's the Rattrays / bar scene / less than savory characters type thing? I'm used to my vampires being Annie Rice or Twilight inspired, so this type of setting I think is throwing me off. Although Bill seems very smooth like some other vampires, and I don't dislike Sookie as a character...I guess there just hasn't been enough meat to this story yet if that makes any sense. I could PM you what part I'm at, I don't want to ruin it for anyone else.

Morning Lapuettes!

TGIF! My father is coming here today to watch DS, so that's good for a few reasons. One, they have a fantastic time together. Two, I can putz around a little bit this morning and take my time getting to work, and three, it's highly unlikely that he'll nap, which means early bed time, which means maybe DH and I can finally watch Batman The DK together! Keep your fingers crossed. :goodvibes

PM me. I think that is what I like about the whole series -- it takes all of our notions of vampires and sets them on their ears. Growing up in the South, so many of the settings/characters/situations are familiar in a Southern stereotype way -- it cracks me up how Charlaine Harris does it.

Keep reading -- I think the series will grow on you as you get more invested in Sookie's character.

A quick good morning to you all!

My dog Bailey is much improved! thanks for your well wishes. I need to get ready to go to work for the day....year end accounting stuff......need to put on my smart hat today and do some actually thinking!! Enjoy the sunshine

I wholeheartedly agree! The series grew on me as the relationships developed... books 3 & 4 I think were my absolute favorites! Book 1 took me a little while to get invested in the characters because it was jarring how different the vampire approach was. The familiar southern thing did have me from the start though...

I completely agree. It wasn't until Book 3 when I was really hooked on the series.

Good Morning Lapuettes.

Thank God It's Friday!!

Right there with ya! My students have been beastlings since they returned and I am so tired of being the Beastmaster. This day cannot go by fast enough!

A quick good morning to you all!

My favorites so far have been Book 4 (Dead to the World) and Book 6 (Definitely Dead). I love, love, love the character of Quinn. I am on Book 7 (All Together Dead) right now.

Hello Jenny-girl. :)
29, for whatever reason, was the birthday I had a tough time with. 30 I'm not too worried about. In fact I'm working on "perspective" this year.
Oh, and NOT eating as many pieces of cheesecake. :goodvibes
Hey Miss Tink---can I just say that you brought the biggest smile to my face when you addressed me as "Jenny-girl!" I haven't been called Jenny in such a long time---childhood probably---and hearing it just brought a sweet grin over my face thinking of being called that when I was younger!!! I go by Jennifer professionally, and all my friends and family call me Jen now, so it was just a nice ode to the past!!! Thanks sweetie!!!

Well here's another giggle just for you LL

Becci got a Wii for Christmas and Niamh loves it. The other day she was asking to play 'the little game'....it took us a while to work out what she meant until she said "you know? the bowling on the little game?" .......:rotfl2: I obviously use that word WAY too much:lmao:

That made me laugh so hard!!!! LOVE that story!!! There are now tears of laughter in my eyes because of you----THANK YOU!!!!

Thanks, we are staying at the POP from Sept 20-29. I am so excited! My dd will LOVE it. She already likes looking at the POP online and on the planning dvd.

Congratulations!!!!! I too received the beloved 40% off pin code email today----head is now spinning with thoughts of my next trip. What is usually cheaper---40% off or Free Dining????? Someone please help me out here!!!

I know what you mean about the dining plan---simply can NOT do it without the dining plan now.....much too spoiled indeed!!!

SO glad to hear that Heidi!!! "Enjoy" your year-end accounting stuff!!! My poor Tom has been sucked into the abysmal abyss that is year-end accounting and reporting at his work---we should hopefully see him resurface sometime in May!!! YUCK!

Happy Friday EVERYONE!!!! Look gang, I am actually here updating while the sun is still up---it is a GREAT day!!! My week has been busy but productive, and I feel like my house/life/routine is now finally getting back to normal---which obviously means PLENTY of DIStime!!! :yay: Which is perfect since I JUST GOT A 40% OFF PIN CODE EMAIL TODAY!!!!! You know the wheels in my head are spinning royally out of control right now. I have so many thoughts rushing through my noggin it is just downright scary!!! Need some help/advice though: what is usually better---free dining or 40% off??? Also, since we have two September babies in my household--Megs and I--how does that whole get in the park free on your birthday thing work if you are buying a package that is already going to include your tickets???? Need some help---thanks so much! Have a great Friday ladies!!!

I love Eric from Book 4 on. I read 7 and 8 so quick and only once that they are kind of a blur... I lent the whole series to my sick friend so I never got to re-read my favorite parts but I think I remember liking 8 better than 7... but I am officially confused :confused3

Heidi... somehow I missed your Bailey news! so glad to hear things are better! :dance3:

When I priced out 30% off at WL, Free Dining was still the better deal.

As far as the birthday thing, you can get a gift card that is good for that day that has the value of a one day ticket on it. There are some other options too, like a fastpass I think. It's all on the Disney website. :thumbsup2

Thanks for the info LL!!!! You are so sweet to help out! When you did the 30% off comparison, were the amounts close? Do you think the extra 10% off would make it the better deal? Thanks for all your input, and Happy Friday to you again!

It was pretty close if I remember correctly. This was back in September. I stuck with Free Dining. I would call and get a quote without dining and then with the 40% with dining and you'll see which is better. :goodvibes

Well actually my husband did call me from work today to tell me that he told me the wrong dates. We are now actually going from Sept 27-Oct 5. We too will be staying at the POP. I also had a hard time getting into the Sookie books. The first one was a little hard for me to get into . I have read the first 3 and they get better as you read on.

Good Morning, Lapuettes!

Today is the second day at my increased dose of Topomax and I feel like total  ...

My plan is to ignore it and do some retail therapy! :woohoo: I have one more Christmas gift card burning a hole in my pocket and I have a book on hold at the bookstore that I keep forgetting to pick up so I am going to do that too.

I'll probably spend the evening at my sister's...

Happy Saturday everyone!

No you didn't read it wrong but I did type it wrong. Sorry that is Sept 27- Oct 5. I had a wicked headache last night and didn't notice. I wish we could go to disney for a month! I went back and fixed it on my original post. I hope it works out for you. I would love to meet you. I also keep forgetting to tell you that you and my dh also share the same birthday Sept. 4.

 Hi Chicca's, hope you lovely Lappuettes are having a great weekend. So far Paul McKenna has helped me lose 2lbs since Tuesday:yay: , long may it continue pixiedust: .

So glad a few of you got a 'wee' chuckle from the latest Niamh-ism, it made me laugh and I needed to share.

LegoMom3 thank you for sharing your amazing angel experience, how wonderful and amazing for you. I'm so happy for you that you got to experience it:hug:

Have a Fabby weekend all:grouphug:

Congrats on the weight loss!!! I was doing really well on losing weight earlier in 2008, but then my scale got dropped and broke, and I haven't replaced it yet....need to get back on the ole' weight loss wagon myself!!! WE CAN DO IT!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats on the 40% off code! Wow, there have been a lot of those lately. :goodvibes I did a huge spreadsheet last year comparing free dining with a various amount of % off, and for the most part, free dining came out better, however...there were some rare instances were 40% off was better.

My numbers were based on what yours would be. Two adults, one child, I think I did it off of 6 nights, 7 days. Let me know if you want more info, if I can spare you all the legwork. :goodvibes
