The Fabby LapuLapuettes Part IV: My Pineapple Needs a Refill!

Did I ever tell you all that I went to Italy right after I graduated from college? It was amazing. I have a BFA in Painting, and I went with a group of artists, organized by two professors at my college. There were classes for the artists, and other activities for the people who appreciated art, but didn't draw or paint and just were there to take it all in.

We went to so many, many places, it was amazing. I cried when we left Assisi, it was so beautiful. Heck, I cried when I saw the Sistine Chapel, because I was walking on the same ground that Michelangelo had, never mind the amazing frescoes. And I got so misty seeing his sculptures in person. How you could make that out of marble is beyond me. (He's my favorite Renaissance artist.) With the exception of a few instances (marrying my husband, having our son, a Pirate's Life for Three) those were the best two weeks of my life. Back when I was young and full of hope and thought I'd have my own gallery someday.

That sounds just wonderful. I can't wait to go. I get so wrapped up in my Disney trips sometimes that I forget that there is a world of places I want to visit. I don't know what I'm looking forward to more, all the beautiful art and architecture or the wonderful homemade pasta. :) It's going to be wonderful to take the trip with just my mom too. She's always wanted to go. Our only must was that the trip has to stop in Naples. That's where our family is from and we'd like to see that, even if it's just a day trip.

I know. But I think you're awesome, and eventually someone else is going to realize that too.

Thanks. I got a call from my 7 year old niece yesterday. She's the world's biggest sweetie. She was telling me all about how pretty the ice outside was, and about how she learned to ski this weekend. How she loved me. It made me feel so much better. While I have some wonderful aunts and uncles I certainly didn't have the kind of relationship I have with my nieces with them. One of the perks of being a single aunt.

And then when my co-workers come in and all the drama starts again, then I remember how unhealthy it is. But for now, I am trying to give myself a good swift kick in the rear and remember I can't change anyone else. I can only change my reactions to them. And although I feel I've had way more than my fair share of things to endure, I do remember when work was peaceful, before we had this particular crew, when I first started there. Maybe someday if I'm patient enough it'll get back to that. In the mean time, I need to learn how not to let it stress me out so much. Because the sad fact is that these people will never change. Only I can, because I can only control me.

Boy, that's sure philosophical for 6am. :lmao:

Anyway, I hope everyone has a great day! :goodvibes

Sorry about all the drama. It's the one thing I like about my department where I work. We are separated from the rest of the firm by 30 floors. It's wonderful not having to deal with all the regular office drama.

So. Tired.....

Second night in a row of disrupted sleep and today I've basically been up since 4:00am..... For those of you with real little kids, don't think it necessarily gets any better when they get older, it just changes appearance.

I had the COOLEST thing happen this morning, though....I swear I saw an angel!! Not all detailed and light and like you see in pictures, but when my DS8 came upstairs to find me, for a split second I thought my husband was behind him, bringing him to see me. When he turned to go, he just disappeared..... Kinda weird, huh? It was dark and I was only looking at outlines and shapes, but there was a tall figure behind my son when he entered that room!!!!
.

Very cool!

Good Morning Ladies....

Yesterday was a tough one....my dog Bailey (the one with the brain tumor) was sick all day yesterday. It started with a little throw up, then she threw up everything in her stomach. Then her body shook for 3 hours.....we actaully think she was having seizures. I made her comfortable in the bathroom where she slept all day. But she did ask to go outside a couple times to do her business which is always a good sign. Around 4 o'clock she decided she was feeling good enough to sleep on her chair in the living room. She kept down her half portion of dinner (needed to give her- her seizure meds). This morning she seems to be doing much better....came over and gave me kisses and wanted her back rubbed. But I don't think she'll make it thru the winter. But I said that last winter :confused3

Heidi, I'm so sorry! I hate seeing poor animals sick. I hope she's not suffering too much.

Well HELLO Miss I Only Have 'Bout 3 Weeks 'Til My Trip!!!

ACK! :scared1:

You know, you're lucky. I'm afraid if I start buying up Cullen / Twilight merchandise my husband will just roll his eyes and sigh. So I'm holding back. With the exception of the score to the movie, which I love!

Oh, me too. I bought it off iTunes and I play it while I'm reading the books. Hell I'm laughing at myself just typing it! But I love it. Sigh.

Did you hear that Taylor Lautner officially got the role of Jacob for the New Moon movie? He's so cute. He must've really bulked up like he said he would try to do.

Ok Lapus enable me (yes, I'm inviting you to do so!...:rotfl: )...

I just checked the airline schedule from here to Orlando and discovered there is an early-morning flight on my departure day and a late-night return coming back. That lets me shorten the trip to 3 nights, but still get in 4 full days.

It also cuts my total by just over $100, to $565.62.....

Must. Make. It. Happen.:scared:

That made me happy... haven't bought the score yet but I got Bellas Lullaby free when I bought tickets to the movie online and I love it ... I have to download the CD! I have added a new itunes card to the list of things I need to get!

That makes me happy. I love Jacob! I hate when they recast in the middle of a movie series. It always makes me think of soap operas when suddenly a character is played by someone completely different.

I'm not thinking that you need much enabling! :lmao: I think your doing a very good job. Having 4 full days is still really good.

Do it, Legomom!
:thumbsup2

I am so excited that they are keeping the same Jacob, I was going to be really mad if they changed.

Maybe they'll use some kind of Hagrid-like special effects to make him look like he grew over 6 feet tall... except on their budget... I doubt it... would be pretty cool though...:rolleyes1

After we pay off some bills with our tax refund next month, I'm going to apply for the Disney VISA....:rolleyes1

I seriously giggle everytime you use the word "wee".

Well here's another giggle just for you LL

Becci got a Wii for Christmas and Niamh loves it. The other day she was asking to play 'the little game'....it took us a while to work out what she meant until she said "you know? the bowling on the little game?" .......:rotfl2: I obviously use that word WAY too much:lmao:

Hi Ladies. I have written out a big long reply for everybody and then my computer quits working so I give up. I too received a pin code and I am waiting to hear back from my ta.

Congrats on the code! I'm so envious of everyone getting one. I'm afraid I'm not going to get one since I already have a trip booked.

Yay!!! Congrats!!! :cool1: :thumbsup2 :cool1:

Last year I got mine in the mail after my trip was booked... I think I had even paid for almost 1/3 of it by the time it came...

Thanks. I booked a trip last Sept. when I was sent a code and then circumstances prevented us from going and I changed our dates to May. So I had a trip booked and I still received a code.

Thanks, we are staying at the POP from Sept 20-29. I am so excited! My dd will LOVE it. She already likes looking at the POP online and on the planning dvd.

Ooky....

Well, I'll be keeping the coffee pot hot all day today. This is the kind of day I'm actually glad I don't have a job to go to...I'd be dead on my feet and totally useless.

.

Hi, LegoMom! Wow, spooky! Where's a ghost Mickey smilie when you need one?

Morning, Lapuettes! I am reading, but just haven't had a big enough block of time to comment. It's amazing the difference between days with no students (Monday and Tuesday) and days when the students come back (yesterday). I was so exhausted last night that all I managed to do after dinner is finish my Sookie book and fall asleep on the couch. :rotfl:

Morning, hon!

Hey, I started reading Dead after Dark. I'm having a really, really hard time getting into it. Is there any way you can convince me to stick with it? :lmao:

O.P.A.

I'm starting a new sub-group for us: Obsessive Planners Anonymous.

Anyone care to join me?

Hello, my name is LegoMom and I'm an Obsessive Planner. My last planning was August of 2008 for our September Disney trip. I'm currently not planning any Disney trips so I have found myself going overboard in planning my long-weekend to St. Petersburg this month. I feel lost and without meaning if I'm not planning a trip.

:rolleyes1

.

Hi, my name is TK, and I was just this evening discussing dinner reservations with my mother for a trip that's 8 months away.

Yup.

It's a problem. :lmao:

I happen to know for a fact that a very nice garden view room at the Poly is opening up for almost the exact dates you were planning on travelling... 6 nights it was about 1200 bucks (-ish I can't really remember now but I remember the number made me squeal and I remember GF was 1400 and Poly was less)

See, I can't even fathom that. That amount. Because a little over $1200 covers basically my whole vacation with tickets and food.

I seriously love free dining. :thumbsup2

I am so sorry to hear about your dog. That poor thing. It's so hard to watch them be sick and not have there be much you can do about it.

Oh, the food! I didn't even talk about the food. AMAZING! I'll never have food like that again unless I go back to Italy. It's so fresh, so wonderful, tastes so good. Yum, yum NOM.

Thanks. I got a call from my 7 year old niece yesterday. She's the world's biggest sweetie. She was telling me all about how pretty the ice outside was, and about how she learned to ski this weekend. What a blessing you are to them. My son doesn't have that type of relationship with any of his aunts. I know he's still little, but it's just not that way. You're very very lucky.

Sorry about all the drama. It's the one thing I like about my department where I work. We are separated from the rest of the firm by 30 floors. It's wonderful not having to deal with all the regular office drama.

Wow. I didn't think a drama free work environment existed. Is that the eight wonder of the world? ;)

I did hear that, I've very happy about it, I thought he was very sweet as Jacob.

Anything that cuts your total down is a okay in my book. :thumbsup2

I love Bella's Lullaby. It's such a beautiful song.

That makes me happy. I love Jacob! I hate when they recast in the middle of a movie series. It always makes me think of soap operas when suddenly a character is played by someone completely different.

Like when they changed Dumbledore. Which was a necessity, since the original actor passed away. I was so sad about his passing, because he was so gifted. I like this Dumbledore, but still have the first one in mind, you know?

Thanks. I booked a trip last Sept. when I was sent a code and then circumstances prevented us from going and I changed our dates to May. So I had a trip booked and I still received a code.

I'm so excited for you!!! But so bummed that your departure day is my arrival day! Would have been nice to meet you.

Well we may still meet as our dates aren't really set in stone yet. I am really hoping that I will get an offer for free dining. I had free dining and free tickets with a code for the trip in May but there is no way we can afford it if we bring Lexi. I m actually hoping that I will be able to change my dates because my inlaws are going to be visiting us right before we leave and I wouldn't mind going the next week so I can get ready for our trip without having company at the same time.

Yep, it was a bit scary steep for me too... even before I decided to cancel I had pretty much decided to switch to POR which I could get for 1/2 the price... I cannot fathom Disney without the dining plan anymore I am so spoiled... and it doesn't get any better than getting it free...

I am so sorry, Heidi! A sick baby (even an animal one) is so hard to bear. I hope Bailey continues to feel better!

The first one wasn't near as good as the other ones. The other ones I can't put down, but that first one was a bit rough around the edges. What don't you like about it? Then, I can plot my strategy to keep you reading it! :rotfl:
