The Fabby LapuLapuettes Part IV: My Pineapple Needs a Refill!

I think I have to agree with Mom on this one. Someday I hope to get back to Europe....I'd love to do a cruise on the Med Sea

The expense of the Perillo trip is what's killing me. I priced out the trip this year just so I'd have an idea of what to expect. $5000. Each. I swear my heart started having palpitations. I think it was about $3500 each for the trip and then the airfare. Granted that includes practically everything (hotels, nearly all the meals, wine, beer, & I think gratuities), but still, eek! :scared1:

Not to get all Dr. Phil on you....but.....have you been putting yourself out there to meet men? You should be beating them off with a stick!!

This made me smile. I've never had to beat men off with a stick. :lmao: I have always had lots of male friends, but have zero luck with men other than that. I swear I think I was born with some kind of male repelling scent. My shyness doesn't help matters either.

Morning, Lapuettes!

YOU WON'T BELIVE THIS!

My mother got a pin code. :scared1:

Seriously, in her e-mail last night, she got a pin code. It says 40% off of values, but it's possible that it could be for other resorts as well.

This lends to a serious train of thought. One we plan to explore this afternoon. You just never know. ;)

Am I seeing some possible resort hopping in TK's future? ;)

I'm not allowed anywhere near WebMD. So says both my boyfriend and my doctor.

WebMD is so scary. I can find 20 fatal diseases I'm suffering from in 2 minutes using that site.

UGH.
"Ice-making it FUN to drive."
Yuck.
My 30-minute commute to the train was doubled, but at least I got here safely.
In retrospect, the trees look like they're straight out of Narnia all encased in ice.
My car? Not so much.

Morning all! Careful if it's slippery where you are!

I feel for you on the commute today. I was so happy I only had 2 1/2 miles to drive to the train station when I walked out to find everything a sheet of ice this morning.

On the plus side I did get to try out my new ice traction slip ons over my boots.
http://cozywinters.com/shop/yk-walk.html?source=base

I got them for Christmas and they are wonderful! I didn't slip at all walking to the train station, and they were very easy to just slip on over my boots. I think mine were from the LL Bean outlet.

I'm assuming that's for a 10 day or so trip which really isn't bad considering you are transported everywhere and have a local guide. When my parents went (don't know which tour co.) their guide got them VIP access to all the great historial sites.

You don't give yourself enough credit! Some man must have really screwed you over in the past.

Just the fact that you have never been married and no kids makes you a great catch....that is a rarity this days in the over 30 crowd. I say the same thing to my SIL all the time.

My parents did a Perillo trip to Hawaii for their 25th anniversary and absolutely loved it. The tour took care of everything. They didn't have to lift a finger, or practically touch their wallets, so it is a good deal. It's just coming up with it that will be tough. (Plus the spending cash to blow on Italian goodies).

Thanks. But really, I'm not lying on this one. I'm a male repellant. One of these days I'll figure out exactly what about me is so repulsive.

You know, I guess I'm the only weirdo who didn't get the full blown obsession until I actually saw the film.

And once I saw it...oh boy. I mean, I can't even describe how that movie just did it for me. :lmao: Well not without getting banned.

Anyway, since I've seen it, I've been rereading the books, checking out different websites, looking at Hot Topic to see what shirts etc they have.

Oh yeah.

It's bad. :rolleyes1

It makes me so glad I have a teenage son behind whom I can hide my obsession. "Oh, Kyle wants a poster/CD/book." (He really IS obsessed too- I gave him the last two books yesterday and he's been holed up in his room ever since.)

:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl: Soon, you, too, will be dreaming of purchasing towels with Edward. ;)

Le sigh. :cloud9:

Blue & White striped ones, I wasn't crazy about them but they were soft and Edward liked them. :rotfl2:

:rotfl:

Tink's back.

Welcome back, Tink!

Of course it is still wet and muddy and Nala decided to give me a parting gift of a muddy footprint on my khakis as I was trying to take her out one last time. Now I have something to remind me of her all day long. :headache:

That's the gift that keeps on giving.

A reminder of your happy little beloved. :goodvibes

:cool1:  :yay: My PIN code just said it was for values too but when you called it applied to all resorts and packages too... although doing the math I could never make it work where the package seemed worth it...

Oh, dang.

That's scary for me to know. Because do you know that...never mind, I'll wait until Mom calls and we price stuff. We didn't have a chance to do that today, what with the horrific "wintry mix" we got here in New England, I wanted to get home lickety split after work.

OK - yesterday was my afternoon of panic and my night of pity... today I am over it and ok! It is what it is... and whatever it is, isn't going to kill me and I am going to be all right, no matter what I have to go through to get there!

I'll keep you guys updated but I might not talk about it a lot... or I might... I don't know... this is new... twice yesterday I think I scared some poor person who happened to be waiting on me in some capacity when I would say or do something out of the ordinary and without thinking I would say "sorry, must be the brain tumor" she didn't know how to react!!! Humor helps...

Thanks for being here for me and for continuing to update all your lovely trip reports so I can live vicariously through your Disney fun!!!

God bless, hon. We're here whether you do or do not want to talk about it.

In the UK there is a channel showing Paul McKenna's 5 week course over the whole of this week, I love to read but not that type of reading:confused3 so the book would just lie on a book self gathering dust. The programme's are making sense so far and I'm getting into the technique so fingers crossed I'll be an absolute Goddess by the time 31July arrives:lmao: . I'll keep you up to date with my progress

Good for you! And I'm with Tink, you're our Scottish Goddess. :goodvibes

 Awww Tink you're such a wee sweetie:lovestruc

I love it when you use the word wee. It's so sweet.

You are not repulsive.

Obviously, you just haven't found your Jack Sparrow / Edward Cullen / Indiana Jones / Bruce Wayne / have I covered the majority of our obsessions here / yet!

You know, you're lucky. I'm afraid if I start buying up Cullen / Twilight merchandise my husband will just roll his eyes and sigh. So I'm holding back. With the exception of the score to the movie, which I love!

"WebMD - you could have dandruff or a flesh-eating virus. You know. Whatever."

:sad2:

:lmao:

They have an 10 day and a 14 day trip. The 10 day goes to Venice, Rome, Florence, and Naples. The 14 day trip goes to Milan, Venice, Florence Sorrento and Rome. (With day trips to Naples, Capri, Pompeii, Pisa, Padua and Verona. It does cover nearly everything. (Breakfast and dinner daily, wine with dinner, 1st class hotels with private baths, all sighseeing excursions including the Vatican and Sistine Chapel, all taxes and tips, and a tour guide. When I look at it that way it really is a good deal. We are looking to go in the fall, which is off course peak season. If we hold off until Nov. we could save $1000 each. May have to look into that.

It just feels that way most of the time.

I think you hit all the big ones!:cutie:

Wow.

Wow.

Did I ever tell you all that I went to Italy right after I graduated from college? It was amazing. I have a BFA in Painting, and I went with a group of artists, organized by two professors at my college. There were classes for the artists, and other activities for the people who appreciated art, but didn't draw or paint and just were there to take it all in.

We went to so many, many places, it was amazing. I cried when we left Assisi, it was so beautiful. Heck, I cried when I saw the Sistine Chapel, because I was walking on the same ground that Michelangelo had, never mind the amazing frescoes. And I got so misty seeing his sculptures in person. How you could make that out of marble is beyond me. (He's my favorite Renaissance artist.) With the exception of a few instances (marrying my husband, having our son, a Pirate's Life for Three) those were the best two weeks of my life. Back when I was young and full of hope and thought I'd have my own gallery someday.

I know. But I think you're awesome, and eventually someone else is going to realize that too.

Good morning, Lapuettes!

Well, here we are again, another work day. I had such a nice day at work yesterday. Totally. Drama. Free. :::sigh::: Actually, it was quite dead since we had a big ole "wintry mix" going on in New England. Made driving in quite fun, I believe at one point I was on a solid sheet of ice. Ice bothers me more than snow. Snow is mangeable. I know how to drive in snow. Ice, you just have to cross your fingers and hope you don't slip, doesn't matter what kind of a car you have.

Anyway, there was no drama, and we had a little skeleton crew (told some people to stay home) because it was so slow. We got a lot of cleaning / rearranging done, and that was really nice. I know it sounds silly to be excited about work, but honestly, this is huge for me. It's rare that I have days like this. And days like this make me think, maybe I don't have to leave this job, maybe I could stay here.

And then when my co-workers come in and all the drama starts again, then I remember how unhealthy it is. But for now, I am trying to give myself a good swift kick in the rear and remember I can't change anyone else. I can only change my reactions to them. And although I feel I've had way more than my fair share of things to endure, I do remember when work was peaceful, before we had this particular crew, when I first started there. Maybe someday if I'm patient enough it'll get back to that. In the mean time, I need to learn how not to let it stress me out so much. Because the sad fact is that these people will never change. Only I can, because I can only control me.

Boy, that's sure philosophical for 6am. :lmao:

Anyway, I hope everyone has a great day! :goodvibes

So. Tired.....

Second night in a row of disrupted sleep and today I've basically been up since 4:00am..... For those of you with real little kids, don't think it necessarily gets any better when they get older, it just changes appearance.

I had the COOLEST thing happen this morning, though....I swear I saw an angel!! Not all detailed and light and like you see in pictures, but when my DS8 came upstairs to find me, for a split second I thought my husband was behind him, bringing him to see me. When he turned to go, he just disappeared..... Kinda weird, huh? It was dark and I was only looking at outlines and shapes, but there was a tall figure behind my son when he entered that room!!!!

Ooky....

Well, I'll be keeping the coffee pot hot all day today. This is the kind of day I'm actually glad I don't have a job to go to...I'd be dead on my feet and totally useless.

.

Morning, Lapuettes! I am reading, but just haven't had a big enough block of time to comment. It's amazing the difference between days with no students (Monday and Tuesday) and days when the students come back (yesterday). I was so exhausted last night that all I managed to do after dinner is finish my Sookie book and fall asleep on the couch. :rotfl:

O.P.A.

I'm starting a new sub-group for us: Obsessive Planners Anonymous.

Anyone care to join me?

Hello, my name is LegoMom and I'm an Obsessive Planner. My last planning was August of 2008 for our September Disney trip. I'm currently not planning any Disney trips so I have found myself going overboard in planning my long-weekend to St. Petersburg this month. I feel lost and without meaning if I'm not planning a trip.

:rolleyes1

cha... yea all their little flow chats end with "call your doctor immediately!!"... yep thanks for that... 'cause I wasn't an obsessive compulsive hypochondriac before I logged on...:confused3

"WebMD - you could have dandruff or a flesh-eating virus. You know. Whatever."

:sad2:
:lmao: :rotfl: Ok that's just funny

I happen to know for a fact that a very nice garden view room at the Poly is opening up for almost the exact dates you were planning on travelling... 6 nights it was about 1200 bucks (-ish I can't really remember now but I remember the number made me squeal and I remember GF was 1400 and Poly was less)

Good Morning Ladies....

Yesterday was a tough one....my dog Bailey (the one with the brain tumor) was sick all day yesterday. It started with a little throw up, then she threw up everything in her stomach. Then her body shook for 3 hours.....we actaully think she was having seizures. I made her comfortable in the bathroom where she slept all day. But she did ask to go outside a couple times to do her business which is always a good sign. Around 4 o'clock she decided she was feeling good enough to sleep on her chair in the living room. She kept down her half portion of dinner (needed to give her- her seizure meds). This morning she seems to be doing much better....came over and gave me kisses and wanted her back rubbed. But I don't think she'll make it thru the winter. But I said that last winter :confused3
