The Fabby LapuLapuettes Part IV: My Pineapple Needs a Refill!

Girlies, what is the series of vampire books that you're all blethering about:surfweb: popcorn:: ? I need a good book or books to submerge myself in and as it was you peeps that hooked me up with my obsession that is Twilight, I totally trust your judgement:thumbsup2

It's the Sookie Stackhouse series by Charlaine Harris. So far, I've read the first one, Dead Until Dark, and I wasn't that enamored. But, at the recommendations of CP and others, I'm going to try the second and see if I like it better. I've got it on hold at the library.

Happy Monday girlies:flower3:

Thanks TK, I'll give it a try. CP is this series a slow starter, is that why it's a good idea to read the second one even if you're not enamoured of the first?

Good morning, 2SP! Yes, I think the first one is not near as good as the rest of them. It took me a really long time to finish the first -- I even put it down and read something else and then came back to it. The second one is better, but from the third one onward they are hard to put down.

Thanks honey, :thumbsup2 I'll definately give them a go as I am sorely lacking in the reading department at the moment

Mornin', CP! I thought of you a lot this weekend. Spike TV was running episodes 4-6 of Star Wars a lot, and every time Leia came on the screen, I would think of how you used to come up with your own battle plans and instruct the troops. :goodvibes

And I'm glad to read that about Dead Until Dark. I put it down...a lot. Like I said, I have the second one on reserve at the library, so I'll let you know once I read that. :thumbsup2

Morning, LegoMom! And I don't drink anything with caffeine anymore, but I used to, so I LOVE this one! :lmao:

Good morning, Lapuettes!

What a nice weekend I had! DH's weekend job is on hiatus for a little bit as they're doing some major renovations, so he's going to be home on the weekends for a while! :yay: And although the extra money is certainly nice, it's even nicer to have him around. :goodvibes

Yesterday we watched Journey to the Center of the Earth, which I thought was a just a good family fun kind of movie. Then, since DS didn't take a nap, we put him to bed early and I finally got to see Batman The Dark Knight! I was really blown away by Heath Ledger's performane as the Joker. I knew it was good, but wow. Just wow. Amazing.

Oh!! I love this one. :rotfl:

Good Morning Lapuettes.

I'm happy to report that Marc and I have found an apartment for when our lease is up on April 1st. We've already paid our deposit and are just waiting to see which ones open up for our move in date. I'm really quite excited. The apartment complex is an upgrade, so we will have a pool, fitness center, club house and even a community garden in the summer. :woohoo:

It's going to be a busy spring for us!!

Mornin', LL. I'm really happy for you. :goodvibes I know how hard you were looking for a different place, and I'm glad you found something that fits. :thumbsup2

Thanks, TK. It's a load off my mind that's for sure. The best part was that since we were able to pay for our security deposit on our first visit to the complex, it was $500 instead of a full month's rent so I was able to save some money too!

Oh, girl, you know how I love to save money! That's awesome. :goodvibes

I am so glad that you found a place to stay. I miss the pool and fitness center from when I lived in an apartment. I know you will enjoy them. Are you getting a 2 bedroom?

Oh yes, and I forgot. They will give us a "free" accent wall. So we can pick one wall in our new apartment and they will paint it for us. I thought that was silly. :rotfl: I've never heard of a perk like that before!

We aren't sure yet. We have a small teeny 2 bedroom right now, about 650 sq. feet. If we go with a 1 bedroom, it will be 800 sq. feet, the 2 bedrooms are 1,000 sq. feet. So no matter what it will be an upgrade. I'm pretty excited. You should see the closets. I never thought I was a closet girl but man oh man, they are walk in and so big that I could fit a desk in them if I wanted too. :rotfl2:

Wow, I've never heard of that! That is kind of funny, but heck, I'd enjoy having at least one wall with color. Apartments are so standard. White walls, beige carpet. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't trade my apartment for anything right now, but if we ever get a house, man am I going to go crazy with paint. :lmao:

We literally have a desk in DS' walk in closet. It's mine from when I was a kid, and I wanted to save it for when he's old enough to need one.

I love my closets. I didn't realize how much until we moved here either, it's so great. :goodvibes

At first I was like, we don't need one and then Marc talked me into it. I think we are going to do the tan one, only because we have a brown/tan couch now. I love the sage green one but I think then I would get stuck with decorating with that color and might get sick of it. At least with tan I can accent with a lot of different colors.

I love small spaces. I grew up in a mobile home and seriously had the tiniest bedroom ever so I feel most comfortable in smaller spaces, which is odd but it's me. I'm intimidated by 1,000 square feet. Marc on the other hand is scheming on all the things he can buy.
