The Extinction of the Cranky Pants: An October 2015 PTR

I'm sorry to hear about your fall! I hope you're healing up nicely.

Seems I got quite a way behind in your PTR! I didn't even realise we aren't going to be neighbours any more! I hope you have an awesome stay at POR! That was one that we debated too, but CBR was the cheapest option for the deal we went for (Free QS DDP, 14 days for the price of 7 tickets, "free" $100 Disney gift card).

It sounds like you have some great plans lined up so far, you are way more organised than me!!

I know...we are starting that trip (my third) in Marco this year so we can do Food & Wine with Nicki and Todd. One of these days...one of these days. I'll come back and read here when I'm back from my trip.

I think every year we miss by just a few days. :lmao: You should just do Disney all month. ::yes:: That'll solve the problem. We can hang out, plus you can get your Nicki and Todd fix. But alas, you're off having magical times right now and I'm sitting here being jealous of your pics on Facebook. :cloud9:

Thank you. I'm healing, but it's a very slow process. :sad2: We were given two options from our TA via text at 5:30 AM EST and I went with the cheaper one. Plus, we had never been to POR before, but we've had CBR stays. So it was something new. I didn't expect POR to be available for FD, so it really wasn't something I thought much about. I casually talked about it with my TA, but had no hopes. So I am happy to try a new place, but sad that I'm moving away from lots of people I was going to be neighbors with and away from the kiddie "waterpark" for the baby. Regardless, we'll have fun since we'll be at WDW!

Following along! I hope you heal soon. POR seems like a great place to stay!

I think you will really enjoy POR Liddy... I know it doesn't have the kiddie water park, but it's a beautiful resort. :lovestruc

I hope you are healing OK... You've been on my mind.

:welcome:

Glad to have you along! ::yes:: I'm healing slowly. And I started OT, so that will definitely help! :thumbsup2

Awww, D! You're too sweet. Thanks for the kind words about the resort change. ::yes::

I'm healing slowly, but healing. :thumbsup2 Miss you! I'm super behind on your PTR. I promise I'll eventually get over there and get caught up!!!

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

On a side note.... going to try to get an update in. Things have changed in regards to my trip. We have speech soon, so hopefully once we are home. Fingers are crossed anyway .... I do know my TA will be thankful October rolls around .... :lmao:

No worries about my TR... I was behind there too... LOL Just glad to hear you are healing - even if it's slowly.

Hopefully your trip is still on? ::yes::

D~

Hi there!!!
How are you feeling?!?

Hiiiiiiiiiiiii!

I'm okay. Thanks for asking. I still can't do some things, but I push myself everyday. ::yes:: It will be healed completely before we know it!

You're too sweet. I do pop in and skim, but I feel awful that I do. :sad1:

Thanks for the kind words. It will heal in its own time. I'm already making improvements. ::yes::

And yes, the trip is definitely on! I'm working on payments now. :thumbsup2 You'll find out (sorta) next time you pop in. :D

Mini Update:

Okay, so let's go back. Back in time. Back to a land not so far away... Let's talk resorts.

Originally, I booked a standard room a CBR with hopes of FD, but would take whatever discount I got and make adjustments where needed.

Then FD hit. All that was available were pirate rooms (which DS9 would have been stoked about, but I didn't want to pay extra for the theme). So we were able to move to POR RR (Garden View) to snag FD.

Well...... That's not where we are anymore. I know my TA, Kelly, is going to kill me with the changes and constant PMs .... but I'm making sure she earns that meager check. :lmao:

So where do we begin? Do we start with being a bit sad that we were no longer able to use the pirate splash area? Do we start with the budget? I dunno. But I kept checking for other rooms to open up for FD. I know my TA has been too (per my request).

So the other day, I noticed.... I had lots of options! I could move to almost any value resort (and I'd save roughly $600 with upgraded DDP). So I started weighing out the options. And I talked to the kids. DS9 didn't want to stay in a RR. DD13 didn't care. Mom doesn't care. So I had to make a decision and fast! Those rooms sell like hotcakes!

So After looking through the choices, I PM'ed Kelly and asked if she was around. I told her to check FD for my dates again and that I see lots of things to choose from. She said she was seeing the same thing and asked what to do. So.... I bit the bullet.

We are back at CBR in a preferred room! It was roughly the same price as the RR (less than $50 difference). I thought about saving that $600, but I really wanted CBR this year for the pirate splash area and I think mom really wanted to stay there, too. And now we have a preferred room, so we'll be close to the main area! :woohoo: We will be filling up those mugs like it's nobody's business! :drinking1 I'll just find other ways to save.... :lmao:

Just so you know, I'm going to be busy with appointments over the next few weeks. My pulmonologist is wanting to run more tests (some are repeats, but it's been a year). I'll be around the best I can, but don't worry if I'm quiet here and there. ::yes::

Yay for getting back to where you wanted to stay. That's awesome! I'm sure DS will be thrilled.

Good luck with the tests. I hope to start my TR tomorrow (if work will leave me alone) and I'll send you a message when I do and you can get to it when you can.

That's the hardest thing about using a TA...feeling like a pain in the butt :-)

The pirate splash area IS fun! I remember my middle kid having a blast there. Heck, my oldest enjoyed it, too. I don't recall if she was technically too big or not, but she did enjoy it and was always empty when we were there. DS1 is terrified of water right now, but we're in therapy for it, so hopefully he'll do better by the time we arrive! :goodvibes

Sending you healthy vibes!!

Thank you so much!

Well, the BIG one is the one I just stated with over 1,000 members. Come join us! :)
Thanks for letting me know about that group! Would've never found it if it wasn't for you, and the group has been super helpful/informative/entertaining. :teeth:

Also thank you for the info and the kind invite! I'll definitely consider WoW as my next game whenever I quit FFXIV. For now I can only handle one game at a time lol.

YAY! the resort SCORE!!!! Congrats!!!!
Get better my friend!!!

Thanks!

I'm working hard to get better. I really am! ::yes::

Awesome! Glad you found us and enjoying it! :thumbsup2

I totally know what you mean about only being able to handle one game at a time. I'm the same way. I tried to juggle more than one game once and it didn't work out so well. :sad2:

Thank you! I have some more testing done next week. Some of it is repeat testing just to see if there's improvement (or not) and some is new. Hopefully we can get some official diagnosis stuff under the belt and a road to RE-COV-ER-Y soon. I'm ready to get better. ::yes::::yes::::yes::

Day 5: EPCOT
October 5th
Monday

After a free day the day before and hanging out with our local friend (and fellow WoW player Kouga), we'll be back in the parks early. We are hitting the pavement first thing in the morning. We are headed to Epcot. This will be our first time at Epcot this trip (probably, unless we hop there earlier in the week). Our focus this day is Future World.

We will definitely plan FPs for Soarin (around 10:30-ish), Character Spot (after lunch, around 12:30-ish), and Mission Space green (around 1:30-ish). We won't bother with Test Track, as I've been told by several people that it's a 45 minute experience once you walk through the doors until you exit. We don't have 1.5 hours to dedicate to one attraction (rider swap). It's a great ride, but not worth the time for us. If mom wants to ride TT, I'll make sure she gets a shot at it though. Otherwise, it's not on the agenda. In FW, we'll probably do Soarin via standby (with Rider Swap) and then with our FPs later. Well hit Living with the Land. We have to hit Journey into Imagination with Figment. We certainly can't skip Club Cool where it's Beverly sodas for everyone on film. :thumbsup2 I'm not sure how much time we'll spend in the aquarium, but I imagine DS9 will spend several hours there.

Once we have our fill of FW, we'll dabble in World Showcase a bit. We might grab a snack from a F&W booth. :confused3 If we are done for the day, we'll go for a swim. If not, we'll start knocking out the WSC. I dunno. We'll do what we want. We won't be leaving until late evening, but an afternoon break is possible. I guess it depends on how we're doing. We may stay for IllumiNations, we may not. If we don't tonight, we have another Epcot dedicated day to check out the night show. So I'm not overly concerned. We may head back for a swim and rest. Honestly, I'd rather get the night show over with this evening, but I have a feeling that it might make for a long day.

Here are some pics of last year's Epcot fun:

Baby Sully couldn't decide which slush from Club Cool he liked more!

She took several sips before she finally decided to pour it out. Best. Experience. Ever. :cloud9:

Stay tuned for day... uhh... whatever. The day we do... more stuff or something. :confused3 :thumbsup2

breastfeeding, co-sleeping,
check and check also we wore them in a Baby Bjorn. I was able to walk some when they were little, and I treasure those memories of them snuggled warm and cosy on my chest. :lovestruc
I play WoW (World of Warcraft) as primarily a healer (my main is a Holy Paladin, she has her own Twitter and S.E.L.F.I.E. camera). When on my trip, if I find WoW related things, I text them to some of my guildmates.
She's awesome! Oooh a holy pally! How cool! May we please be WoW friends when I reactive my account? :flower3:
We met many, many years ago playing WoW (World of Warcraft, any other gamers out there?).
*raises hand!!!* I love WoW friends old and new!
I instantly knew a fellow WoW'er when I saw your avatar :)
Same reaction I had! ;) :waves:
EEEEEK! Another WoWer! :cloud9:
Oooh there are lots of us here! :D :waves:
Good news everyone! (That was typed in my best Professor Farnsworth voice.)
I read it in his voice before you ever said it!
My daily schedule has been sorted out! I'm happy with how it looks and hoppers can be avoided! Also, I've almost finished narrowing down my dining. I need DD13 to verify the selections I have noted. Once her seal of approval is set, I can move forward with my PTR to discuss the daily plans! :woohoo:
Yay!
If I'm feeling froggy
How exactly does one feel froggy?
We'll clean up, grab a snack, and crawl in bed for some good (excited) sleep. Who am I kidding .... we won't be able to sleep since the next day we will be arriving in WDW! :jumping1:
never sleep before Disney too excited!!!
If baby is upset, I'll probably curl up somewhere and nurse him a bit. Since everyone leaves at once, we won't be in a hurry to join the herd.
awww :) I remember those days
So if it stresses baby, then extra cuddles sound like a better way to end the night! :cloud9:
so sweet
I can't walk up stairs anymore with my leg and hip issues. I'll also have an ECV. Those don't do stairs either.
Ground floor here as well. Can't risk having an elevator go out. I can walk a tiny bit on crutches, but stairs are out of the question. There has been a time or two when my husband has taken me up or down stairs in my wheelchair, but I prefer not to do that for both of our sake.
Since we were out, DH wanted to stop by Game Stop. He dropped a pretty penny in there ... and what's the rule again? Yep, I get to match $1 for $1. So that was extra money I get to stash away for our trip! :woohoo: If DH keeps this up, we're going to move to CR with a theme park view. :lmao:
Game Stop is hard to stay away from! Thankfully they carry a bunch of used games too! Lol. Yay for your arrangement though.
Last night, we went out to celebrate. I tried to pretend we were at Teppan Edo. :lmao:
Aw so cool about his birthday, our boys are the same age now. Hehe I know this feeling.
Hopefully, just hopefully, we'll be a Rebel Spy!
I was the Rebel Spy in DL! It was such a surprise! I hope you're the Rebel Spy this time! :darth:
Who doesn't enjoy a nice evening swim? :confused3
I DO!!! I DO!!! also a morning swim...midday swim...and any other kinds of swims you can think of, except those with sharks!
I'm semi-back. I'm still recovering, but doing MUCH better. I go tomorrow to be evaluated for OT. Long story short, I was taking DD13 to Girl Scouts and slid on the sidewalk. I fell and had to be taken via ambulance to ER. I live in an apartment complex and a neighbor several buildings down heard me fall from inside his apartment. That's how nasty it was. They splint my arm in the ER and sent me to ortho. Orthos X-Rays look good, but I'm still in pain and can't rotate or extend completely. They are sending me to OT to see if they can "work" out the issues. :confused3 On a different note, I saw my neurologist today and the first part of my skin biopsies came back normal. So that's good, but that's bad. That means still no answers.
How is it now? Sorry to hear about the fall. :(
On a DISNEY related note ..... WE SCORED FREE DINING!!!!!!!!!
:cheer2:
OMG a fellow gamer!! :teeth: I never played WoW but I have a lot of friends who do/did. My current game is FFXIV.
Also good games :D
I love Sims
:lovestruc Ditto, though we only have 3
I have neuropathy (nerve damage) in my left arm
I have neuropathy in left arm too!
Currently, I have a few characters at max level, but am leveling another character 100% RP-style. She's always IC and never does anything that's OOC. She's still pretty low level and I've had her for MONTHS.
RP is such fun!!! I'm on an RP realm Feathermoon and I swear other than the friendships RP is one of my favorite parts of WoW!
I'll definitely consider WoW as my next game whenever I quit FFXIV.
Woo hoo!:thumbsup2

My first carrier was the Baby K'tan. It was fine, but it wasn't what I wanted. I was glad some of my Facebook mama cloth diapering friends pushed me towards a Tula! :thumbsup2

She's awesome! Oooh a holy pally! How cool! May we please be WoW friends when I reactive my account? :flower3:

Yes, please! :worship: I'm also looking for new new WoW friends! Do you ever play D3? I rarely do ... but I did some when my sub was out. Yay for the whole Bnet thing. :lmao:

*raises hand!!!* I love WoW friends old and new!

Same reaction I had! ;) :waves:

All my WoW friends think I'm nuts for loving Disney and my Disney friends think I'm nuts for loving WoW. :sad2: I'm glad you guys get me. :cloud9::love:

Yay!

I dunno... :confused3 Frog-like? :confused3:confused3 :lmao::lmao:

I don't blame you! :scared1: I can't imagine. :sad2:

Game Stop is hard to stay away from! Thankfully they carry a bunch of used games too! Lol. Yay for your arrangement though.

Game Stop. The pain is real. :lmao: You go in to sell off games to make a few dollars for gas and leave with a new gaming system and a stack of games. :rotfl2: Okay, so maybe it's not that bad ... but the pain is real. Who was it ... Was it @BridgetR3 who went in the other day and came out with a ton of stuff for her kids? It was NUTS! I was very impressed. ::yes:: The gamer in me was totally :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:!!!

Aw so cool about his birthday, our boys are the same age now. Hehe I know this feeling.

I was the Rebel Spy in DL! It was such a surprise! I hope you're the Rebel Spy this time! :darth:

It would totally be nice, but I'd be happier if it was one of my kids. They enjoy it more. Granted, I'd be stoked, but I know it means a lot to them, too. DS was totally stoked when he was the spy (twice!). I think DD was jealous. :sad2: Granted, I was a bit jealous. :lmao: Maybe we can ride it enough times that we can all be the spy. :thumbsup2:rotfl2: I've only seen it be an adult once... and it was Kouga! He got to be the Rebel Spy back in.... 2011? It was when they first changed it over to the new version. We think it was because of his awesome shirt. He was pixie dusted like crazy that day (he got free parking and some other pixie dust throughout the day -- it was most awesome).

I DO!!! I DO!!! also a morning swim...midday swim...and any other kinds of swims you can think of, except those with sharks!

I'm pretty sure I'm part cat, so I'm not overly fond of the water... I tolerate it enough to know its usefulness and that others like it. I prefer to admire it from a distance. However, I can totally enjoy sitting near the pool while others swim. I can't stand the feeling of my hair being wet. :confused3 But yeah, I'm totally down for hanging near the pool and letting those who like the water swim. :thumbsup2

How is it now? Sorry to hear about the fall. :(

Still healing. I'm doing OT twice a week to make it heal faster. I have a bit more movement with it, but there's still pain. I still struggle to do things like some ASL and dishes and pulling my hair up (and washing it). I CAN do them, but there's pain with it. Not excruciating, but enough that it sucks.

:cheer2:

Also good games :D

:lovestruc Ditto, though we only have 3

I have 1-3. Well, I did have 1, but I think I threw them out? I know I have 2 and 3 on THIS computer. I do not have 4, nor do I have plans on getting 4 anytime soon. Priorities. I'm saving for WDW and Sims 4 would slow down my saving. :crazy2:

I have neuropathy in left arm too!

I'm so sorry! Is yours bad? I had no clue until they told me. I was struggling with my legs and I mentioned wrist pain. I was thinking I might have carpal tunnel or something. They did the nerve conduction test and some other things. He came back and said I need to wear an elbow pad to sleep and ice my elbow and all this crazy stuff. I was all :scared1:! I just wore an amber bracelet to manage the pain (and hey, it works!). I have sensory issues and the elbow pad drove me nuts. I was in tears within minutes of having it on. He says that if I don't wear it I'll have to have surgery and all this other stuff that sounds scary. However, I have no pain as long as I keep my amber bracelet on. I do wake up with it numb every now and then, but I try to adjust HOW I sleep instead. My legs are what worry me the most. I'm on my feet for 20 or so minutes and they start to go numb and cramp and tingle. My kids want to do things like go to DollyWood (we're pretty local), but I can't afford to rent an ECV each visit as it gets expensive.

RP is such fun!!! I'm on an RP realm Feathermoon and I swear other than the friendships RP is one of my favorite parts of WoW!

Feathermoon! I've heard good things about that realm. I'm on Scryers/Argent Dawn. No one RPs there. :sad2: A friend of mine and I were out on Darkmoon Island having some RP fun and people were ruining it. "Are you on a date?" What? No. Go away. I mean, c'mon! It makes complete sense for a young rogue and priestess to be "dating." :headache: I don't do the eRP anyway. It's all just fun. There was a small group of us last night that hung out (including @BridgetR3 ) and we did some light RP. Once her and her DH logged, my friend and myself went over to the bar and did some more light RP. I hate how people gawk and stare when you RP. I don't mind for people being curious. I was that person once. It's the ones who almost try to ruin it for you ... the ones who interfere, say things that are unlike what any of the characters would say. And lord hold me back, use horrible grammar. I'm fine if you can't spell very well. But if you don't even try.... Just go away. :headache: :lmao: And I'm seriously just a casual RPer. I'm not big into the lore. Don't ask me what the year is or how many wars there have been. Couldn't tell you. Who is the ruler of each city? No clue. Okay, I know Sylvanas Windrunner is the ruler of the Undead. She's the Banshee Queen. I like her. :lmao: I actually have pics of Korseh hanging out with her. :ssst:

Woo hoo!:thumbsup2

Great expression!
Caught up and adoring your TR!

Thank you! :worship:

I love your Epcot plans. We aren't big fans of the new Test Track and don't waste our time with it either. I told Mark if he wants to do it, we are doing Single Rider line. He doesn't really care for it either.

I would definitely snack at the booths for lunch time. :) So many yummy options.

I'm not a big fan of Illuminations (spoiler alert: I did watch the fireworks from my balcony a couple of nights), but if it was something that had to be done, I'd get it over the first night too if not too tired.

I can take or leave IllumiNations, but I think mom wants to watch it. She saw it in 2009 and she's a big fan of night entertainment. So are the kids. I'm game with whatever. So we'll see. :thumbsup2
