The Empty Nesters Magical Mystery Tour *1/28* Link to New Girl's TR p141

Guess who showed up first - my favorite!

Mine, too!

That is a great family picture. :thumbsup2
I am so glad we had a snow day today so I could have some extra DIS time. It's icy and snowy here, but I'm fighting the winter blues by dreaming of our summer trip and enjoying your October pictures. :goodvibes

Your family breakfast looks like a lot of fun. You got some beautiful shots around the MK before the crowds arrived. I hope that we might get a chance to do that some morning on our upcoming trip.

It looks like the kids loved meeting Pooh. I think the choice of venue for breakfast must have been an absolute hit! :thumbsup2

I love Crystal Palace breakfast before the park opens. I think I actually enjoy it more than CRT breakfast before the park opens. It's just so bright and cheerful inside CP. The food is pretty good. And the characters are always up for fun!

LOL. The guy in the backseat of Splash Mountain.
Love Tony’s.
One day I will play the Sorcerer’s game.
Nice dinner with friends.
Your workout would feel like a full one to me. LOl
Beautiful pics going to MK.
Nice group photo. Too bad the PP did not show up but at least you got that one.
All caught up again.

What a lovely CP breakfast! The kids look so adorable; I'm with you, I love watching the kid's reactions to the characters.

And bonus points that everyone got there on time! :thumbsup2 With a big group, that's quite a feat!

Hope you're having a great time in Florida!!

Had a few free minutes so trying to squeeze in a little DIS time and check in with everyone. Sounds like you were having a really busy and fun filled trip, and how great you got to do a DISmeet with KatMark!

Can't wait to hear all about it! :thumbsup2

We're home! We actually got home late Weds night, but I went back to work the last two days. I hope to get caught up with replies this weekend.

We had a great time! It was a really fun, although short, trip! Loved it.

I will slowly get caught up on everyone's TRs. Promise!

Wow! You sure get around - Disney that is! Welcome back. :) How awesome to have another DISmeet with Kathy.

Your early morning MK photos look like they are straight out of a WDW travel brochure. Lovely! I caught your "almost" makes you want to have grandchildren. :rotfl2: I don't know why I'm always surprised when people ask me if I have grandkids. I suppose I don't think of myself as there yet even though they know my kids have been married for several years now.

At last you had that PP photo taken with your camera. It is a great family photo and that would be a complete bummer if all those photos were missing. I still get a little nervous when I don't hear the beep of the scanner for the PP photos. :)

What a perfect place for a fámily reunion. Love the photos of an empty park and castle.

I thought that would be a fun breakfast for everyone. Pooh and friends are just the classic Disney characters. They just scream Disney. And arriving during an empty park is always special.

I'm impressed you going to the gym with only 20 minutes to work out. :worship:

It was either that or skip it all together because I knew I would never make it back there. So I'm glad I got a little bit of a workout.

Mk pre-park opening is so nice. You really get to enjoy the sights without worrying about being in anybody's way or getting bumped by guests' shoulders and strollers. Your photos with the pink roses in the them are beautiful. Reminds me of a perfect park day. :goodvibes

I totally agree with you. I love going in any park right before it opens. It's so special. I was really fortunate to have time to take some unobstructed pictures and the roses really were festive.

Looks like your in-laws had a nice time at breakfast, and kudos to them for making it to CP on time! :thumbsup2 Those little ones seemed very happy to see Winnie the Pooh and his friends. How adorable. :goodvibes

Kudos is right. I thought for sure they would be late. I'm such a skeptic. But they made it right on time. The kids are adorable and they were totally into the characters. It worked out perfectly. :good vibes

There were so many great shots it's hard to pick just one but I adore this one. I love the focus on the roses, with the soft castle behind it. Just lovely! I am enjoying the borders. not enough to actually make them myself (still impressed, that is time dedication) but they are really cool.

Thanks! I like that one myself. I forgot that I was able to take so many pics before breakfast. It was a great photo-op.

Not sure how long I am going to be able to keep up with the borders. :rolleyes1

I honestly didn't think it was bad. Granted we never took the bus from the treehouse itself but if you plan accordingly, not an issue and I didn't think any slower than several other of the bigger resorts and mods.

I'm glad you had a good bus experience. Maybe it just seemed terrible to me because I'm used to having a car. Wait - did you mean that a bus went directly from the tree houses?

One thing I did notice this week is that there are fewer resorts grouped together for the buses. We were able to take a bus that was just for BC and YC. I liked that!

that can wait but the little ones are fun for a bit aren't they!

:rotfl2: It can DEFINITELY wait! :rotfl2: But it really is special to watch the little ones interact with the characters.

CUTE picture, what a lovely looking family, how fun!!!

Thanks! I'm so glad I herded everyone together for the group shot. Totally worth it! :thumbsup2

What a great morning :) first trip for everybody? I hope you're being sarcastic, because slap a mustache on Denny and they look identical, to me at least. Maybe it's too far away to tell.

It was a great morning.

My in laws did take all their boys when they were much, much younger. It was during the summer, they stayed off site, and the drove. So this really was like a first trip to them. Of course, it was the first trip for the little guys.

Yeah - Denny and his brother look a lot alike. They are only a year apart in age. Up close they look different, but for the casual observer they are hard to tell apart. It's the grey hair, I swear. :rotfl2:

Safe travels and have a marvelous trip!!!!!!!

Thanks Pam! We had a great trip. It was short, but it was very fun!

What a fantastic morning!!!

You are tempting me with all of the gorgeous things you saw from the ferry coming in to MK! We are bus or monorail people, but WHAT A VIEW!

It was a great morning!

I used to take the bus exclusively, but at some point we started driving to MK and I fell in love with the ferry. I pick it over the monorail every time. I just love the views and I know right where to stand to be first off! :rotfl2:

Your castle shots are incredible. My favorite is the one with just one rose or maybe the one with the castle not in soft focus. We have never done the pre-park opening breakfast, but that is on my bucket list. I wonder if you have even less people when you have an 8:25 reservation than right at opening?

Thanks! I like that photo, too!

You should definitely try a pre park opening breakfast. It's really special to go into the parks before they open, especially the MK. I just love it! Definitely less people at 8:25. We went right in.

Extremely cute character pictures in CP. I love Disney through the eyes of children.

There is nothing quite like Disney through the eyes of children. The kids were great. They were totally into the characters and not one bit afraid.

GREAT family photo, and that was extremely smart of you to have them take it with your camera too. The only pictures PP lost for us were some in front of the guitar at RNR- never saw a photographer there before or since- and I tried following up, but they never did find our missing pictures and I didn't have them take it with my camera. :(

I am so sorry you lost those pictures. I didn't even try to recover ours. I just got way too busy when we got home and ran out of time. Plus I really do love having the same pictures on my own camera. I'm a control freak. :rotfl2:

How close are Denny and his brother in age. WOW! Good thing his brother has a moustache, because it would be tough telling them apart!

They are a year apart and, yes, they can be hard to tell apart. Up close you can definitely see the difference, but they confuse people all the time. They have a younger brother by two years and he looks almost the same as well.

HAVE A FANTASTIC TRIP!!! Can't wait to hear all about it.

:banana::banana::banana:

We had a wonderful time. We really enjoyed the gulf coast. It was great weather. Oh, and Denny loved the Beach Club. We will definitely be going back!

Any day in Disney is a great day.

You got that right! :thumbsup2:goodvibes:thumbsup2

Love the morning castle shots!:thumbsup2

Thanks! It's so special to see the castle first thing in the morning. I have been in all the parks before opening, but that is definitely my favorite!

I SO want to do that sometime! Bucket list item.

Oh you MUST! It's very cool and a great opportunity for you to get some awesome family shots!

Ok, you can stop rubbing it in now. :rotfl2:

Sorry! :rolleyes1

Have a great time!

Thanks. We had an awesome time. It was a really fun trip! :good vibes

Sounds like a wonderful morning! Beautiful family picture :goodvibes

Thanks Dawn! We had a great morning and I was so happy we got that group shot!

What a great way to start your morning at Disney! Great food, great people, great characters and great pictures!

Thanks Lisa! It was a perfect morning and I'm so glad we were all able to spend time together and enjoy the characters and the park.

Very cute kids, and great character interaction. Looked like a great breakfast.

It was SO much fun! I really enjoyed watching the kids. They were not the least bit intimidated by the characters. That was the best part!

Wow, no mistaking Denny's brother! :rotfl2:

:rotfl2: And they have a younger brother that looks pretty much the same. :rotfl:

Well, I'm sure you know how much I love getting into the MK early for those empty Main Street photos! :goodvibes Definitely got some great shots there, especially the ones of the train station out front before you got into the park.

Thanks! I haven't been in the park early in quite awhile, so this was really special. And it didn't hurt one bit that it was an absolutely perfect weather day! It was a great way to kick off the day!

Breakfast looks like lots of fun! The kids are so adorable, and look like they are having a blast with Pooh & the gang. At first I thought you meant your nephew was Denny's brother, but I quickly picked out your actual BIL once I got to the group photo. :rotfl: Kinda hard to miss that family resemblance! The group photo is really a nice picture of all of you. :goodvibes

Yeah - it is hard to miss that they are brothers. They are only a year apart in age. Denny's brother married his high school GF so their kids are much older than ours.

The kids were awesome. They were SO into the characters and not one bit afraid. That was really cool to see.

Welcome home! Can't wait to hear all about the trip.

Jill in CO

Welcome home!!!! I hope you had a nice get away and from what I saw on facebook, it looked good!

I love your Crystal Place update. the Kids look so cute.
and the Halloween decor...I just love the angles you got. Now I need to go back and re take some early in the morning to get shots like that.....yeah that's the only reason I want to go back then :rolleyes1

Welcome home, I am loving the pictures. The family picture was wonderful. Your camera did a good job capturing the moment.
