The Duggar Family is pregnant AGAIN!

Are you saying that something is wrong with "child-led" weaning? :confused3

I am when they're still suckling after 7 years. I was referring to the freakshows who don't feel the need to ever stop. There was a program on one of the educational channels about it. Freaked me out! If you want to dry heave, you can watch the program on youtube. Search for breast feeding and you'll see it near the top of the list. I get a little sick thinking about it.

Does she really wean at 6 months? Because it is possible to ovulate while you are nursing, and it is possible to tandem nurse a toddler and a newborn.

I got a little creeped out by the picture of one of the older girls with the newborn in the baby carrier. That should be the mother's job.

If anyone really is interested about the Amish practice of Rumspringa ("running around"), read Rumspringa: To be or not to be Amish by Tom Shachtman.

I totally agree with you there. It is not her baby, so why is she having to do her piano practice with the baby in a baby carrier on her chest. So, so wrong.

Michelle is missing out on oh so much. :sad2: There really must be something out of whack with her to do that.

That really bothered me about that picture. That the poor girl couldn't even practice the piano alone. You mean to tell me that Michelle Duggar couldn't have taken the child for even that short amount of time?

I was reading your response and started thinking about gender-specific roles. I couldn't think of too many.

Child bearer/birther (must be female)
Bra model (must be female)

That was all I could come up with.

There are a lot of men out there with way bigger breasts than me, so I guess they could be bra models too!

That is what it all seems to boil down to. Will JB get a new "baby maker" when she breaks down. Kinda like getting a new car when to old one won't run anymore :rotfl2:

Suzanne

You know, that's something I seriously wonder about. What if she (God forbid) dies during this pregnancy? Will he look for another wife? If he has one, will they start breeding at the same pace?
Oh, I hope they'll programme that show here too!

Not literally, no. You know what I mean, though. But who knows what is next :confused3 We have seen them do everything else.

Suzanne

We have shows on television that are called "babyboom" and "life as it started". Both are about getting pregnant (mostly IVF) and deliveries, and are very explicit (cameras are always in the delivery room). Maybe that's the next show they could be on!

Your cousin was very fortunate there was a university and a dental school near his Mom's home...that also accepted him. Most students need to leave their local neighborhood for an education, especially if they are getting an advanced degree. They go where the programs are.
My problem is that the eldest is being encouraged to think he has a chance at law school, while living at home, not enrolled in a regular university. He will have to have a degree, and very good lsat scores to even be considered for law school. Once there, he will have to perform at a high level. Most law schools are particular about their bar pass rates and they don't keep students in that are barely passing or failing. He needs some realistic understanding of what it takes to get in, and stay in law school.
Oh, and rebellion has nothing to do with it. Generally rebellious kids aren't knocking themselves out to get an advanced degree. One needs to be highly motivated to achieve at law school.

Well then we will just have to wait a see. If he fails you can tell me "I told you so" but when my DD tells me she wants to be an imagineer. I don't tell her it's highly unlikely because she is not motivated enough in math. I let my DD have her dreams and as any parent I believe in my child's dreams.:)

Goodness. I don't know how old your DD is, but how you talk to young people about their dreams changes as they get older. When my DD was 6 she wanted to be a ballerina. Wonderful-you'll be a great ballerina was the answer.
When you are talking to 18-20 year olds, the situation is different. They need honest feedback and information. I would never, ever encourage a young person to go to unaccredited college, university or law school.
It's certainly possible to honest, as well as positive. I would never wish failure on any young person. Who would? Good solid information on the steps needed to achieve a life goal are a kindness, not a dream killer.
About your budding imagineer-Her motivation may change, especially if her desire is strong to head toward that field. They are all works in progress. :goodvibes

Mama Duggar is going to have to have 2 wagons one for her uterus and one for her ****s.
I cannot understand how that poor uterus is still working and not fell out yet.

OMG I just spit all over my screen :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I wonder if the ever have a day where it is rainy and yucky and they stay in pajamas all day. You know those days where you make a big pot of soup and snuggle under a blanket and do nothing all day? Are they allowed to have a yucky day?

Just watched Duggar family christmas on You Tube, which makes them seem a bit more real. Esspecially when one of the kids is crying cause he can't go shopping, it made them look like a normal family.

I don't like what they are doing, but i like it when they don't seem so fake

With all the silly talk of Michelle's uterus being a clown car, she and JB are producing beautiful, healthy children. Combined with her easy-breezy personality, it makes you wonder if this is what she was meant to do in life. Not all women are built like this.

I don't think its about the "bond" at all. I think she likes the attention of being pregnant, the "Queen Bee." It doesn't make sense if she was addicted to the bond that she would wean them at 6 months. And with the way they try economize it seems weird they would be buying formula. But she needs to wean at 6 months so she can ovulate again. It's all about the thrill of announcing her pregnancy, getting the media attention and having the family worship her for her fecundity while her children work like dogs so she can keep up her addiction.

Now, that she gets to go on national television to announce once again the miraculous joining of JimBob's sperm to her ovum... you can't get much more attention than that.

These people make me sick.

And as long as people like Meredith Vieria keep feeding her addiction and glorifying her ability to concieve it will continue.

Just because we can, doesn't mean we should. ;)

See here's the thing- you have to do a little more than just "produce" the children. You have to take care of them and raise them. It doesn't matter the number that you have. It is not some great feat to keep having children to pass off to your other kids. It's not like she is a surrogate. They are her own kids.

That family scares the bejesus out of me. Now we are a big family now with 5 kids but we are soooo done. She just seems so subservient to JimBob that it's frightening. I also think it's just the thrill of the pregnancy and the cuteness of a newborn that she craves and once it starts to develop she loses interest and moves on to anther one.

Exactly! Why is having 18 kids so much more wonderful than having two or three kids and actually taking care of them yourself?

Where you see an "easy-breezy" personality, many of us see some sort of mental illness.
I doubt that anyone is meant to pop out babies and hand them off to children to be raised.

I know people with her personality that are quite sane. They are just innately calm. My sister is one, and I had a lovely friend who looks like Michelle with a better haircut, and the same personality.

DSis is the one who would take my kids if we keel over. I always think they might be better off there...:rotfl:

Just sayin...:)

I still think it would be sad to hand over my babies to someone else to take care of.
