I attempted to go shopping today. I almost did not survive the Target parking lot! When we finally got inside there were 3, count them, 3 carts left.

I looked for one item then left having not found it.

Nope, Johnna does not have the personality for patience in the shopping frenzy situation.

Cheri does not have that kind of patience either. Remember that scene in Fried Green Tomatoes where some sassy girls beat Kathy Bates into a parking spot? It's like that TIMES 100! (And then remember how she bashes the h&ll out of the "cute" girls little bug??? That's how Cheri feels after the fifth spot is swiped from her ) And I wanted was a roll of that old fashioned white fuzzy rope-like stuff you can tie around packages instead of the curling ribbon (that doesn't curl anymore). And of course Target didn't have any of that ---- so I had to spend $80 on other essential items


then I went home and ate chocolate.

Morning ya'll...

TRM - my Target beat your Target! I had to practically park at Home Depot yesterday and when I got inside there were NO CARTS inside the store! ZIP! NADA! I had to go back out to the parking lot to scrounge for one (like I was at Walmart or something) and then even the cart returns closest to the store were empty so I had to go up to the furthest ones to find one! On an up note - I bought more stuff than what we needed so I get to go back today to return some items and I forgot to fill an RX! Oh YAY! Another trip to Target!

Thanks for your input on the Shuffle guys! I think that would be a good one to start with & see how much he even uses it. I am off again next Fri. so I think I will look at the OTHER Costco to see if they might have it (the one that's further away but more of a normal store and not INSANE) and then I will see if I am due to get any more Reward Zone certificates at Best Buy - maybe I can get a few $ off there.

Meanwhile, I still need to do my BIL and get him ready to mail. That's got to be a focused effort this week!

I will not be able to keep this tree watered!! I filled the resovoir 3 times yesterday afternoon / evening!! There is only enough room for about 2 1/2 quarts of water at a time (the trunk is so big it takes up most of the space in the stand). Even tho it was just cut yesterday AM, DH still made a fresh cut on the bottom & he drilled a few holes up in the bottom too so it will drink. I filled it with warm water as soon as we put it in the stand & got it up. Then I checked it after I got home from Target & it was empty so I filled it again. Then again right before bed!! It was bone dry this AM when I got up! So I hope the bottom didn't seal back over with sap. But I don't think I'll be able to keep it drinking if it's going to keep drinking like that! I hope the holes DH drilled will keep it drinking! It always seems like once it gets empty / dried out that's it - they stop drinking! ANYWAY, the tippy top is a bit off center but otherwise, it's a real beaut! We measured - it's exactly 11' & I think we put about 1100 lights on it + every ornament we had!

Oh to brave Sears and Babies R Us or not....

would rather watch football. But DH not home must handle two girls like a pro and with great finesse all by myself.

Hey ya'll. Whew! FEELS like it was a busy day - yet got nothing done at home!

Did my returns at Target - and bought another cart full (DS's cousins in MI, his penpal in Sacramento, DH's Grandma...) Also popped into World Market & knocked off a few things...still nothing for my BIL tho! I DID pick up a little stocking stuffer something for his girlfriend. We have never met her but they've been dating for almost 2 yrs. now I think... I am just stumped on what to get for him tho!! Also don't have anything yet for MIL or DH's step brother that MIL adopted. He's 16. What do 16 y.o. boys like?! I don't know if he has an Ipod....making a mental note to find that out....maybe Ipod gadgets / accessories if he has one?! I sorta doubt he has one. But I can always check, right?

Sigh....I'm tired....good nite....sweet dreams!

So much to do everyday now it seems! Anyone else feeling a little stressed?

I will be putting the last of DS's college apps in the mail today....now we have to file scholarships!

Tonight is DS's Christmas concert. He will look so handsome...he had to have a suit jacket for this concert, so I figured we might as well go for a whole suit!

Gotta make a run to the UPS Store today as well....and then there are still gifts to be hunted down and purchased!

At least I was able to check 1 thing off my list early this morning....ordered SAT scores a few minutes ago. (it helps they are in the East Coast time zone)

Ok....off I go to get sumthin' done! Have a great day everyone!!

I ordered Christmas cards too! Snapfish sent them right to Walgreens and I picked them up! Overnight service....now that is something I can appreciate! Check it off the list!

I hear ya with the shopping thing - DH just thinks that Xmas HAPPENS! Wrapping!? HA! Gotta BUY the stuff first! (DS is already wondering when the first present will appear!) LOL...at this rate EVERYTHING is coming from Santa 'cuz Santa don't wrap at our house!

When??And was 4th in the Halloween Costume voting. Apparently the kids did not know who/what she was so she lost out to the zombie clown. Cleopatra people! Teach your kids some history!!

Had big pot luck luncheon at work today - still full 6 hours later! They were taking bets on my plate! But I fooled 'em! Had to try some of everything ('cept that stuff with the marshmallows & coconut)! The penne pasta with vodka sauce was awesome...so were the deviled eggs...the mac & cheese, the veggie tortilla soup...the chili...the baked ziti...the cheesy potato casserole...the thai sesame noodles....crab dip....veggie lasagne...chix salad...YUMMMM I love food! I can walk right by the desserts - but give me a plate of good homemade food & I'm in heaven!

DS & I got our hairs cut this eve. Now am doing some Need to make dinner...but hummm....hard to cook when not hungry! Made an eye round roast last nite & broccoli casserole (one for home & one for pot luck lunch). I guess maybe leftovers are in order 'eh? Popped into the liquor store after the hair cuts - the big jug of the Captain is $5 off right now! Only bought 2 tho 'cuz I didn't grab a cart & I didn't think it was cool to have DS carry it too!?

Got our Magic Express envelope today for our January trip! NOW I can start packing!

It is hard to buy alcohol on the east coast. I remember when we first moved there in NJ - we musta walked around the grocery store like 6 times looking for the alcohol aisle. Never did find it. Apparently alcohol is in A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT STORE! Why does that make sense? We decided it was a mafia thing.

In PA it's even worse. The liquor stores are state run. The beer and wine are at one store and the had liquor is in A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT STORE!

In bad weather it can take you ALL DAY to get your alcohol bought. It's so stoopid!!

We had our favorite store in Delaware. All alcohol in one location and no sales tax!!


Cheri - love the website - I think I can name all da peeps. LOL at Sean's guy. Bets is obviously the laundry queen...

And question: SueEllen maybe knows this...If I buy enough gift cards through our school scrip program to pay for the cruise - I believe these are in the form or Disney gift cards...Can I use these for payment towards our cruise? The school gets some fundraising $$ and I can pay for them with my discover card and get the cash back!! Seems like a win win. Anybody ever done this?
