I was at Target today too. My mom took the kids so DH and I went and played Santa. I got about 90% of that stuff done, which is huge.

This weekend I managed to get my tree, and all the decorations, do my cards (just a few straglers I need addresses for left), most of Santas shopping, a few more other gifts, and I did a little bit of packing. I am starting to feel like you, Annie! But I think its time packing takes prioirity.

Oh and we got the kids present from us today...Celtics tickets. Thats some easy shopping.

It's good I got stuff done because my next 2 weekends are gone already with the trip and Cams birthday parties.

Good to hear you have had some rain, Cheri. Are things getting back to normal for you guys now?

OK, well, we're back from our big afternoon of shopping. DS was actually a pretty good helper in JCP helping me dig for the right size. Mom's been walking the track down at the high school w/ a couple other ladies...she's lost a few Lbs but she said she's still in like an 18 or something...so I bought XL's - anybody know if that's the right equivalent to an 18?! This dept. at JCP was on my nerves tho - it was very disorganized & the stuff was all mix & match - but the tops weren't on the same racks with the bottoms & there were diff. fabrics...OH and they also had petite stuff mixed in!! Took a long time to hunt for "sets" but finally ended up with 3 (hard not to go overboard w/ buy one piece / get one for $1).

Target...hummm...the smallest 1 x 1 1/2" post-it yields $101 worth of stuff!! Problem was I was already there once last week! I don't go to Costco very often. The one that's closest to us is a MESS. I refuse to go. Parking is bad (garage) and the clientele is ummmmm questionable. The one I prefer is about 15 miles north of us - but it's not "on my way" anywhere so it keeps me out of there! I am glad we did that online ordering for DS awhile back so that he's DONE! Just a couple of weeks ago he started ASKING for a Wii....now he's scouring the ads in the papers for them...heehee Glad to be done with him!

Redskins BLEW it at the last minute again.

OK, so all of the FL peeps have been missing all weekend...what's up down there?!?!

So, I'm messing around with rooms and discounts again. Disney is trying to drive me to drink. I can get a pool view for either 7/17-19 or 7/18-20, but not for 7/17-20! I would be happy with a pool view,not even savannah. Usually I don't care much about views but for some reason I feel if we are going to AKL, this is the time a view matters. Like I dont want to look at a parking lot and busses going by there. Anywhere else I probably wouldnt care, but it seems part of the reason to stay there is the view. (maybe not from all your reviews )

Oh drats for you! I orig. had the pool view booked 'cuz I knew those are in limited supply (although some of those are over the restaurant roof too)...but then I released it once we found the studio... Go for the savanna view then as it sounds like that's what you're really wanting...then you'll know if it's worth it or not. I'm just not convinced it's worth the Xtra bucks just because we didn't have the best room location last time - but plenty of people have terrific luck with it! We did it the first time we went there & just didn't see the same number of animals on our savanna as we did on some of the others as we walked by them (we were on the back side of one of the hubs off the Uzima savanna). And I hear that sometimes trees block the view etc., etc. But try it and see...perhaps you could request the Arusha savanna - that one is the one in the big circle out the back of the lodge....it's pretty big so I would think your odds are better...I would at least ASK to be on that one anyway...I would think you'd have better luck on that one.

I would definitely book the savananh view if I could get that again, but its gone with the good rate I had. Thats my dilemma. I can get pool view for 2 nights and the standard view for either that last night, or all 3, but I cant get pool or savannah for any combination of the 3. And for some reason I'm against standard at AKL... I don't know why. I'm usually not like this at all.

Bcuz it is STILL a lot of money even for a Std. view and yes, with this resort it probably is a view of the parking lot! Can you book the pool view at the reg. rate, w/o your discount & hope that a room code will pop up a couple of months out? (You could always subscribe to the code thread for July over on the room code board!)

I don't know, really. There will probably be FL res. discounts & maybe AP holder discounts...and probably almost always AAA....I really don't know about general public codes or PIN codes.... I just know that I saw a Code Watch thread for July the other day & I was thinking MAN! That's a long time away to be watching for a code 'cuz if THEY DID have a code it probably wouldn't come out until late spring...

Cool beans! It was closed when we were there in Aug. - I was never a big fan before tho - the line always seemed so-o-o long...but we'll check it out when we go in January! (6 weeks!!!! ) Also looking forward to the Haunted Mansion which was closed all summer too!

So Katie - are you one of those Moms who is organized enough to pre-make ahead and label all of the meals for your guys before you go away for the week?! So all DH has to do is open the frig. and read a label that says "Monday - preheat oven to 375 and bake for 1 hour"?! I find making regular dinners every nite a challenge! I just got home about 30 min. ago & am making chili real quick - DH has a class tonite from 6:45 - 9 & DS has scouts from 7:30 - 9 and tonite is popcorn pickup from 6-8....

Beano had to have a root canal today and has to get a temp. crown tomorrow. Right now he is still numb, so we will have to wait and see how he feels when numbness wears off!

I was wondering about them too. It's not like RJ to not give us a good morning.

And no, I wont precook for them. They will probably do frozen pizza, hot dogs, take out, stuff like that. I don't cook much in general...and ironically I love to cook. My kids don't eat much (Colt is the pickiest kid I know), and I'm usually trying to diet with my little Weight Watcher Smart Ones, so cooking for 1 is a waste. I'd love to do a nice meal every night if everyone ate, but that will never happen.

DH is going to ranch this weekend to mark and brand calves. I am not going since I am not really able to help with Linden and will be bored out of my mind. So we are having a girls weekend here at home. I am thinking some movies and some christmas decorating. Ryans girl scout troop is walking in the Tracy Christmas parade Saturday night. Yep, night. Stoopid idea. But whatcha gonna do?

Neil and Ryan put the house lights up last night. The tree will come home with Neil on Sunday. Monday Neil goes to New Orleans for the week so not quite sure how that tree is going to jump into the stand and put its lights on all by itself. So tree will go up the 14th or 15th and then we will get to enjoy it for one week before we leave for the holidays. ARG. I am thinking Neil can bypass tree lights this year. Maybe I can have the neighbor help me put the tree into the house.

Gotta get the staircase garland done. I wonder if Costco has anymore of the fresh garland? My house would smell purdy ifn I could get some of that....Cept I am guessing they sold out of fresh garland before Thanksgiving. Maybe gonna go call them.

OK gots to schedule Neils MRI. Must take advantage of baby nap time.

Neil simply must come home early enough on Sun. with that tree to get it into the stand and get the lights on! He just must! Fresh garland for the stairs? Not for me. Yes, smells LOVELY but ummm....can we say MESS?! I put some trimmings from the bottom of the tree on the mantle...but NEEDLES everywhere with that fresh stuff! I bought a fresh wreath from the boy scouts - put that sucker on the light inbetween the 2 garage doors so the needles could blow out there.
