OMG Peeps! I got a loose screw!

First, about 10 days or so ago my MIL volunteered our extra bedrooms to her sister, husband & daugher to stay here "sometime around the end of Oct." when they come up to visit from FL! DH called them & they said they don't know when exactly yet - anytime between Oct 20 and Nov 3. OK, so our one guestroom looks like a guestroom - I mean it has a bed with a headboard & footboard & a nightstand & a chest of drawers...but the OTHER spare room is a MESS! We call it "the playroom" as it's got a queen size bed but it's full of junk & toys...I am embarrased for DH's cousin to have to stay in there! She's an adult (like about 30 I guess). I've never minded throwing KIDS in there to stay but grownups are a little different somehow.

OK fast forward , my nephews wedding is next Sat. afternoon up in Harpers Ferry, WV which is in the panhandle - so it's about 45 min. from where we live. But it's like 3 hours from where my family lives. OK, so I had told my Mom if they wanted to "commute" from here instead of staying in a hotel all weekend they could do that. I also said my brother could stay here with his girlfriend. We've lived here 7 1/2 yrs & he's never been down!! He really doesn't get out much. Anyway, so today she tells me that they would stay up there on Fri. nite after the rehersal ('cuz they're also bringing my younger nephew who's IN the wedding) and then come here for Sat. nite - along with my brother, his girlfriend, HER son and my other nephew (they're both about 16)! I've met her (Linda, the girlfriend) like ummm, let's see - TWICE!

So I spent the first half of the day shopping at Target for new lamps & a mirror and then I went to World Market for some lined baskets (love that store) ('cuz there IS a shelf thingy in this room - it's just covered in toys but I figured I could clean it up & put some baskets instead of a chest of drawers....) OH, and then, I remembered that when my old next door neighbors moved last fall, she threw out some really NICE stuff in the trash just 'cuz it didn't match the NEW house - so I had pilfered these 2 framed pictures that totally match the comforter I have in this room - but I'd just shoved them under the bed 'cuz I didn't want to hang them until I had some more stuff to put up!

OK, here's where the loose screw comes in. At like 3:30 I completely switch gears and I decide to go out & wash & wax my truck since it's going to get too cold to get it done & I'm busy the next 2 weekends! Well, THAT was a disaster! I got it washed & put on a coat of this polish stuff & it's not rubbing off very good. I've used this stuff before, but my last truck was silver & this one is red so I don't know if it's just the diff. in the paint color or what - but it looked like CRAP! You could see all of my little circles where I'd rubbed it on! OK, so by this time it's like 6:30 and getting dark. So I call DH to come out & he's like "did you try a 2nd coat of wax yet"?! UHHH. NO! OK, so he starts working on one spot & that did it! It needed a 2nd freaking coat of wax! OK, so it's officially dark now so I had to pull it into the garage & maneuver around all the junk in there with the step ladder and I JUST finished at like 9:30! (Did he stay out there to help? Uhhh. NO!) I am BEAT. I was going to make lasagne but obviously that didn't happen - he ended up running out to Burger King to pick stuff up while I was rubbing my freaking arms off out there! But it LOOKS SO GOOD NOW!!!!

I didn't get this spare room put together yet - that will be a project over the next few nites - DH is home on Tues nite so hopefully we can get the stuff hung on the walls then. I'm anxious to see if this junk I bought today will pull it together enough to make it look decent...but right now I just need a glass of wine (a little sedative to put me to sleep)!

I use Aleve and / or Motrin for the aching muscles....then the wine IS my sedative! (Wine makes me sleepy faster than anything else - so if I have a glass of wine as a "nightcap" I'm snoring before my head ever hits the pillow!!)

LOL! Well its not all at once. I do 3.5 outside, then check in on some emails and stuff, then 2 more on the treadmill. Then once I get some more work done, the kids fed, dressed, packed and on the bus, I do another 2 on the treadmill. But its not working!!!

Oh no! Trust me, Im not. No matter what I do I cannot get down to where I was just a couple years ago. Im seriously up about 10 lbs...and since its all in 1 area it really shows! Im getting so frustrated Im ready to stop running all together.
