Hi guys! We're home...safe & sound! The camping / rafting trip went really well & we got really, really lucky with the weather! It poured up there on Fri. afternoon right as we were getting ready to leave home & it rained thru most of our drive but by the time we got there it had stopped & was starting to dry out! Woke up to lots of fog on Sat. but it burned off around 10:30-11 & ended up being a great day! I guess it stayed around 80 degrees but it was VERY humid (the kind of humid that fogs up your glasses) - so we were glad it wasn't any warmer! The water was ICE cold - asked one of our guides about it & she said they release water from the dam on Friday evenings which makes it colder! Brrrrrr! Anyway, DH & I are both pretty sore - we had to do all of the work with the paddling - shoulder blades...hands...arms - all very sore...4 hours of rowing basically - but it was fun! And no HUGE fiascos with the camping this time - except the ground was really hard (dry) & I put some of the tent stakes in TOO far according to DH & he made a tiny 1/2" long cut in the side of the tent trying to pull up one of the stakes with the axe - sigh. Have to make repairs one day now!

Hit really bad traffic on the way back today - it took 2 hours to drive what normally takes 45 minutes! Just wanted to check in...should have a few pics to look at tomorrow...need to get to bed NOW!

I don't plan on publicizing the web page but yoy never know who searches the boards. There was one request so I thought I'd better ask since we are soooooo close to going up (and since I had beeg plans for changing the Mug Shots page often). Opinions?

Oh boy! Cant wait for the site to be ready. I'm ok with pictures and names if everyone else is. Real names put to faces will help me learn everyone although I think Im getting pretty good with that now.

Considering what just surfaced on the news about the freaky people that have been profiling children and their actions for other pedophiles it probably isnt a good idea to include kids' real names or specifically where families live. The news story was sick. They even rated them for promiscuity and friendliness.

I am okay with Disnames and pictures. I have no problem emailing a list of people's real info to everyone.

1. Dis names preferred.
2. First names okay.
3. Last names and specific locations bad....

CamColt - glad you're back - hope it was great fun - strange to see candy canes on your ticker!!

Cheri - I guess I have mixed thoughts about the website stuff....like Tarzanman said - there's a lot of sicko's out there...not sure how many of them might live in my 'hood...well, in the next 'hood over actually... First names OK...Disnames a must...only vague personal info....mugshots?! Hummm...I possibly gave you some good ammo on THAT one! (My neighbor just emailed me one she took of me at the beach - had that Captain face! Whoa Boy could that one do some damage!) Hummmmmmmmm....guess I'll just go with the flow on the mugshot thing.... Maybe if you put kids pics you could leave them nameless - then nobody besides us would know who was who or where they might live?! Can we all get a "sneak peek" before you you take it live or do we all have to wait in suspense?!

Betsy - the picture is a wee thing - but I'd say with some heels you'll look splendid for your big day! And congrats on reaching your goal - I know it seemed like a long time to YOU but it seems like you did it in no time to me!!

Great pics Annie, too. It looks like fun (well, besides the tent part, LOL). I just showed Cam "the kid who will be on the cruise with us". Where are you in the group shot?

And on the website stuff, like Tarzanman mention, I dont think last names or specific locations are necessary. That could get into bad territory. But like I said before Im ok with pics and names (first names). Im so excited to see it!!!

Looking at the picture, Jared is in the front row on the left - in a red T-shirt - he tends to goof off, not pay attention when he should & make silly faces at picture time. DH & I are in the back left corner of that photo - you can just see our heads - he's wearing a light colored ball cap - we're behind the guy in the navy T-shirt & woman in the white shirt...

As for the web site, how 'bout this:
1)I will email everyone the web site address instead of putting the address on the thread,
2)I will take off the hometowns
3)(but I will put together a spreadsheet of families available for email that only those Peeps can have access to print for studying purposes),
4)I'll use real and DIS names unless otherwise asked.
5)I'll think about posting pix of the kids along (without parents) so they aren't identifiable to any parent.
