Thanks - it was quite fun to do...but certainly not possible with the family around... my DW doesn't like to park hop, my DD doesn't want to "go so fast" and my DS' would certainly find something else to do that would have impacted the time and possibilities... perhaps with one other person - maybe when one of the boys is a bit older I can repeat it in a DAD way - otherwise it'll have to be something I do alone when I'm in FL on business... it was fun though!

I just had my year anniversary, smoke-free... it's not easy

in sept it will be six years since my last cig. i was about 21/2 - 3 packs a day. dw and i quit at the same time. she was about a pack a day. the first two weeks of smoke free in our house was great we both slept with our eyes open!! we made it, now , we can smell it a mile away and , a true exsmoker, "man, does that stink!" keep up the good work, eveyday it gets easier!!!

Congrats on being smoke free. I was a 1 1/2 pack a day smoker for 21 years (started when i was 15). Around christmas if 2006 my oldest son asked me when I was going to die since I smoke all the time. That was all I needed. I quit Christmas morning 2006 as a present for my two sons. It was hard for the first year, but worth it. I feel better now then have in years.

Quit in '88. Cold turkey.Girlfriend at the time, now DW, was not a smoker so that helped ALOT. Its nice to be able to smell rain, a baby's breath, hickory smoked ribs... and all the money I saved. OK so i spent it on beer instead. To all of those who are just quitting hang in there, its worth it.

Welcome to all the new DIS Dads! And for all those who are kicking the smoking habit, know that there are those of us out here who offer our support and encouragement to keep up the good fight!

I was never a smoker, but I know what a difficult challenge you face. When I was working in a grocery store during my college days, one of the older lady cashiers who I really enjoyed working around and talking to used to smoke. She mentioned quitting one day and I bet her she couldn't do it. She told me it was easy, she had done it multiple times before.

We had a $10 bet and when she gave in to another cigarette, I made her pay up. I had told her it was one bet I would never mind losing. I don't see her anymore but every time she sees my parents she asks about me. She has indeed since quit smoking, and she makes sure to tell them to give me the message that she is still smoke-free!

I am happy for her, and for all of you!!!!

dvcerfs - Hopefully you were far from the problems on Rt 33 and did not have to be evacuated. I got concerned when I heard about that in your area. I will be in your neck of the woods tomorrow for a meeting with PennDOT...lucky me!

M'sdaddy, Emma's Dad and I are going to get together since we are at Disney at the same time. You are more then welcome to join us! All dads welcome!

im about 6 miles from the rt33 acid scare!! that truck runs from canada to philly 3x per week on rt33. they picked the trailer up, loaded!, and put it on a low trailer. they had a state police escort to philly. the closest trailer that could take the acid off the trailer was 18 hours away!! you would think, being 1 hour from ny city, philly and the northeast seaports, there would be a truck closer. i couldnt believe we made cnn!! hay next time your in the l.v. , let me know, we can meet up. im an outside rep and i cover from tannersville, slatebelt, nazareth, bethlehem,allentown areas.

Ok, I need some advice guys. I got it planned to be at DHS on May 17th. Was hoping to catch Fantasmic... well ... no dining packages available and I underdstand that Fantasmic days at the park are like an ant pile bust open.SO should i dis DHS May 17th for another park, drop the ADS at Mama Melrose and hit DHS when we might be able to go commando on TSM?? Your opinions are valued. Now while I wait for any responses, and maybe this is not the way to ask, but I'll begin figuring out how to upload pictures to post from the past
