ok , i tried to add another ticker onto my sign. cant get it to work. so, as of wednesday march 18th. i have 50 days till we leave on our wdw trip w/ no kids!! we have started a shopping list. so far we got everything from a key chain (dd) to carmel apples w/nuts from the magic kingdom.(6 apples)anyone else need or want anything will im going? you will have to meet me at a rest stop on may 16th on int4,int95,int66,int81 or int78. a guy i work with wanted ice cream from the mk, yes, i put it in a cup, put it in the cooler and he got his ice liquid 3 days later. he put it back in the freezer and he ate it!!! said it was still good!! :scared1: i did it as a joke, i didnt think he would eat it!

Forgetting the obvious hurdles (selling our house, finding work, etc.), does the thought of moving to Disney excite anyone?

I've even intrigued my wife and kids on the idea.

It may end up being something we never do and only talk about for years, but I must say it does sound great to me.

Anyone else ever thought about it (or done it, for that matter)?

We've talked about it for a long time and in 3 1/2 years we will semi-retire there. We won't need much to live on so we might just start a small business and keep it small. We are toying with the idea of renting out pop up campers to people that go to Disney. Much cheaper than renting rooms and you get the great outdoors. Fort Wilderness is the best!

I can't wait to hear about it! That's definitely a tour I want to take, but when I was reading about it last week while at the World, I saw an age minimum, so I need to wait til the kids are older... or do it myself, but THAT would be cruel to them, since they want to do it too. Oh well, I guess I'm waiting...
you have to be 16. with id. the reason i got was, when they take you into the utilidors, you will see characters in the lunch room and walking around that will not be in full dress.(heads) and they dont want to upset anyone.:rolleyes1 ok, my dd got the hint when she was 5 that most living thing dont have plastic noses, and there lips dont move. but, rules are rules.
so she has been waiting for 10 years now. the only place i have seen is behind the buildings on main street. dd has danced in the mk and epcot. she has seen where the parade floats are kept, the performers (dancers) areas etc. at epcot she said theres a road going around the park and basicly you see just the backs of buildings. there are only two things id love to see, car. of prog. and the hau. man. ive done some poking on the net about the hm and seen alot of what they do but the c.o.p. there is nothing.

We should gather all of the Disney Dads interested in this and start a business together so we can all move down there - all business meetings will be held in the parks!

Yep, that's what the little brochure I picked up at DTD says... 16. Dumb. My oldest son at 2 told me that the characters aren't real, just people in costumes... come on - gimme a break Disney! Oh well, a few more years to wait...

Count me in, I have had it with the cold and snow.

Question for the Dads...Where can you find information on the Rope Drops at the MK and AK? Do they have these everyday or only select days?

My wife and I walked around the town of Celebration last year and thought, this would be a great spot to retire to...Then we saw the prices of the condos, and thought we might not be able to stay retired at that point!

I'd like to throw my hat into the ring of the DIS Dads. I'm not a zealot for Disney, but I am a little nuts. I hope that allows me access. :rolleyes1

Well let's see.. I met criteria #1,2,10,11,12,18,19,27,29,30,32,36 (the list goes on) but most importantly #73 :woohoo:

My DW is and has been a DIS'r for a few years now and sent the link for this section of the DISboards. She's cool like that
