Big day today for this DIS Dad. 90 days out!

Finally, does anyone know how to post a link in your signature that is a TITLE of a thread, Like "DIS Dad's 2009 Wilderness Pre-Trip Report". I would like to do a PTR and add it to my signature but don't know how :confused3 . It took me a bunch of times to figure out how to post a picture.

Congrats on the upcoming trip! I'm just trying to work thru those post Disney blues myself. :sad1:

As for the link in the signature, I would go to your trip report page then copy web address from the address bar. The edit your signature by typing in the title that you want in your signature, highlight the title, then click the Insert Link (the one with the globe and the chain link) and paste the web address of your trip report.

First of all congrats to Colinsdad on your upcoming trip. My family and I will be getting there right after you leave. Last night I was giving my 14mo DS a bath, and he was playing with his bath toys and he started to say Buzz, Dash, and Meeska. I am loving the fact that some of my DS first words has to do with Disney characters! Now I cannot wait to be at WDW at the end of May to see his expressions when he sees the characters. Anyways, take care to all of the DisDads out there (and their families).

ok, now i feel like im gettin old! my dd turned 16 today. i took her over to the dmv. the computers were down, you could take the test but you had to take it by hand. she told the guy "no problem". sat down and 8 min. later came back to the counter, i thought, now what? she looked at me and said that was easy! we sat for a long 10 min. i think i was more nervous than she was. the guy called her name and we went back to the counter, the guy said sorry, but you will have to sign this than you can have your permit!! i thought my ballet dancing, blue eyed, blond hair little girl was going to reach across the counter and yank the guy over the counter!!! she said thats not funny!! anyway, i took her out driving for the first time for 45 min. this afternoon, i was impressed! it seems like last week i was holding the back of her bike seat while she was riding her bike. wow, time goes by so fast!

I was just holding the back of my DD(6)'s bike seat this past weekend :goodvibes She is sooooo close to going solo, but she is still telling me "Don't let go, Daddy!" And, of course, I am just not ready to let go yet. I guess a part of me is screaming "don't let go... she'll grow up!". Too bad you can't freeze time, right? :rolleyes1

It's funny how dads from all over the country with different ethnic, economical, and religious backrounds can feel the exact same way. May God richly bless all of the dad's with quality time with their kids! :thumbsup2

OK guys... I've gone and done something that I'm not sure how you guys are going to like. I was browsing the internet today and found out that there is a Disney community site that is similar to Facebook. So... I created a login, then created the DIS Dad's Club group. One thing I did not know before creating the new login, is the fact that if you already have a login for Disney.com, then you can use that login to access the community site. (I bolded this to save some of you the time in creating an unnecessary login)

If you are interested in joining this group, you can do one of 2 things:

- Go to this site and click the link for "Request to join".

OR

- PM me with your email address and I can send you an invite.

What I really like about this site is that we can now create several new threads rather than one really big one. Again, this was done on a whim and I just thought I'd throw it out there. I don't mean to hijack anything. Let me know what you think :thumbsup2

Hey Dads - wow, it's been a little while since I last posted. I've been awfully busy at work, and the activity level in our house has increased so we're constantly on the go... ugh. In the meantime my DW and I went off and spent 4 days at DL in the Grand Californian to mark (albeit a few weeks early) our 15th anniversary. We left the kids with their grandparents and aunt/uncle and had a wonderful time. We enjoyed both DL and DCA, as well as some time at the beach. The weather was gorgeous, and the parks weren't crowded.

I've got ressies for my sons and I to go down to WDW for Star Wars Weekends this year. We're pretty excited about it. We've wanted to go the past several years, but haven't been able to make it work out for one reason or another - but this year, thanks to DVC, is finally the year - and just in time since my oldest just turned 13 and has started to act like he's too cool for an even like SWW...thankfully my younger son (10) is still hands-down engrossed by all things Star Wars. I wanted to stay at the Boardwalk in order to be able to walk over to the studios, but there was no availability for the nights so we ended up with OKW. I considered POP even, but when push came to shove I'll put out less cash this way which makes my DW happy.

I hope you all are doing well... I need to back up a few pages and see what's been posted....

It's good to hear from you. I'm glad all is well with you and your family. I would love to go to SWW this year! I'll have to see what I can swing. My son is a HUGE Star Wars fan and would love to do it.

I think my DD would enjoy SWW... which is weird because she hasn't even seen any of the SW episodes (yet) :rolleyes1 Her only SW experience has been watching me play SW The Force Unleashed on the Wii :rotfl: I may break out the DVDs soon... but DD is VERY sensitive to movies that are even close to being scary (she wouldn't even watch an Elmo movie when she was younger because of the "villain" taking Elmo's blanket!). I even have trouble getting her to watch Disney movies like Little Mermaid because of scenes like when the sea witch takes Ariel's voice... she asks me to fast forward through that part.

I pray all you dads are doing well out there! Just seems like every time I turn on the news now-a-days all I hear is bad news. Lots of jobs being lost and our country is in dire straights. Good this I only have 62 days until I get to relax on the sandy shores at CSR for 8 days.............

Welcome to the Club. As for this DIS Dad, I am within 3 months of my next vacation to WDW. Take care.

WOW! Congratulations to your DW :woohoo: . Funny how one number could have changed your life dramatically, eh? So did the winnings go into the Disney fund?

:lmao: thats funny!! the family budget,(meaning me) is in charge of taking care of the disney fund. shes using it for my dd16. dance, dd car insurance, dance, dd gas, dance. wow, kind of thinking about it, it dont go as far as you think. but cant complain. she was lucky.

:rotfl2: I know what you mean! The dollar just doesn't go very far any more. Interestingly enough, I just mentioned to my DW the other day that a million dollars just isn't that much anymore. A house and a few year's worth of college could wipe that out quickly! :sad2:
