Morning guys.

It's going to be a crazy week around here. So much to get done, and not much time to do it!!

Andy,

Kerrigan had a pretty impressive highlight for his forst official NFL game :thumbsup2
Yes he did. I'm sure there will be more to come too!:thumbsup2

Good day for former Purdue DE's. Shaun Phillips made a similar play, only he didn't get a TD.

I've already decided last year's Purdue team was more fun to watch. I don't mind seeing a team lose as much if they are overmatched but fighting hard. Last year seeing a bunch of freshmen (and Kerrigan) out there leaving it all on the field was at least enjoyable and the way they played some quality teams close kind of gave some false hope for this year.

Now in 2 games, I've seen a healthier, more experienced team come out flat, show little effort, little emotion and just look like they don't belong on the field.:sad2: At least they still have 1 more win than the Irish... even if they don't deserve it.:rolleyes1

Yeah, Cowboys tried every way they could to lose that game, and they did. I think the positive to take is Ryan's defense. I'm not sold yet on Jones at RB. I hope he proves me wrong.

Ryan's defence played well, they gave up points but it still was a better performance than last year.

For a number of years the Cowboys seem to have gone with smaller, finess running backs. Barber was willing to put his head down and run but he was still on the smaller side. I think they need to get a big fullback to help open holes for these guys or go find another Herschel Walker type of RB.

I know what you're saying. We have a few more days til we leave than you but we have so much going on between now and then we are panicking that we will forget something.

Hello Guys. Things come and things go. People say things one day, then change their outlook another. Life can be so fickle at times can't it? I just wanted to share, and once gain ask for some pixie dust and prayer. I was "invited" on to a conference call yesterday afternoon, and the promises that were made just about 3 or maybe 4 weeks ago now have vanished. I was basically given two options. I could be done effective Monday and receive a severance package, OR, I could continue to work at a reduced salary for 30 days, and then be done and receive no severance package. Hmmm. I selected the severance package option. That'll provide income and health benefits for us through the end of the year whereas the other option, well...yeah.

So very sorry about this. You have had entirely too much bad news, it seems, lately, and it's about time something breaks the right way for you. I will hope and pray that it is how your search turns out. I will agree with your decision to get your health benefits covered. That's the scariest thing for me.

Its my Princesses (DD) birthday and we are heading to Cheesecake Factory!!!! Avacado Eggrolls here we come!!!

Mmmmm... they are delicious. Unfortunately, younger DD is staunchly opposed to Cheesecake Factory.

anyone have an iphone?????? if you do, do you like it and or have any problems with it???? we were at the mall tonight, we went into the verizon store and in a few months tammys and i contracts are up. so i thought id get into the 21st century. i was playing around with it and i think i could attempt it. briana has a droid but the key pad is so small i can even see the numbers.:lmao:

The iPhone is incredible. I seem to have replaced about 40 things with the iPhone and various apps. Luckily, I am in a good coverage area, and normally travel in good coverage areas, so the fast Internet access makes for a really incredible device. The OS is very intuitive. I have seen a 2 year-old navigate the interface without too much trouble, and play Angry Birds on it flawlessly. :lmao:

I have avoided working on 9/11 for the past 8 years. I work for a cable news station, and I personally don't agree with their decision to air certain things on this day each and every year. Unfortunately, I am not in a position to take this weekend off. So I've been sitting here (last night, and now tonight) surrounded by all the images again.

Around 4pm ET, just as I was starting my shift, 3 idiots on a flight from LAX to JFK apparently locked themselves in a bathroom. Fighters were scrambled. It ended up being nothing, thankfully.

I would much rather spend the day seeing images like the ones posted by cj9200. And I would like to see us rebuild to wipe the smirks and grins of of all the faces of those who were happy to see the towers fall that day.

To anyone out there who lost a friend or loved one on that day. I am sorry for your loss. I will not forget. To all those who serve and have served our country in the armed forces, or in the civil ranks of police, firefighters, EMTs, and even the everyday people who just plain care about each other and this country... Thank You. I will always support you.

I'm going to second a lot of what you said here. I was living in DC and working a few blocks from the White House on 9/11/2001, and spent most of the rest of the day waiting on the follow-up attacks that never came. I drove by the side of the Pentagon that was being rebuilt every day after I moved out of the city. The endless loop of the towers being hit on the news drove me up the wall, and I finally had to leave the room because my DW (girlfriend at the time) had it on. So, yeah, I haven't tuned in to any of the specials this year. There are some things I just don't need to see again. I will remember the footage, the fear, the HumVees on the street corners in DC, and the coworkers I lost on one of the flights and the kids they were chaperoning. I don't need to see the videos ever again.

Morning guys.

It's going to be a crazy week around here. So much to get done, and not much time to do it!!

But just think: If you get it done, you get to go to WDW. If you don't get it done, somebody else has to do it and you get to go to WDW. :thumbsup2

Congratulations to JUNGLE(Nelson) Cruz for their see saw victory and upset of The Hittin' Mickeys. Clearly, the tribe of headhunters they picked up on waivers made all the difference. They will now face the 2nd-seeded Splash Mountaineers in the Nemesis side of the playoff bracket.

Also congratulations to The Incredibles for their hard fought victory over Baloo's Cubs. Troy Tulowitzki was truly Mr. Incredible for him last week - Dan Haren was pretty great also. He now faces the number one seed in PhineastoEzratoGus whose team name is the most difficult to type of any team I have ever typed.

Good luck to all!

Not us. DW packs the house and the kitchen sink. All I think is why do I have to haul this peanut butter to the car, resort, in the room, etc. We get home I i think half the clothes were never worn.

I agree. Barber was a decent RB and I didn't like seeing him leave w/o some similar player. I think that may hurt Cowboys.

Wow, I actually won a playoff game. My team is playing on borrowed time, it seems. Maybe another motivation speech to my players can net another small miracle this week. :rotfl:

Yeah, I have zero confidence in short yardage situations with Jones or Choice back there - especially with this young offensive line.

i forgot to mention, how bout them blue eagles?:woohoo:

I saw some of it on replay. Good game despite the Blue Eagles winning! My cousin is playing for Wilkes College now so I probably won't follow the Rovers too closely this year.

9-11 is also on my mind. I was living in NY at the time. Less than a month before that tragic day, I took my daughter to the South Tower’s observatory. It was a perfect day, sunny, mild temps and a vista that was almost endless. I pointed to my office and she said, “I feel like I can almost touch it.” She was seven.

She was in school that day and they were showing the events as they unfolded on the classroom TVs. The concern on her face was so noticeable, that the teacher asked her what was wrong. “My daddy works near the Trade Center.” I was in Washington on 9/11 Co-ordinating biggest donor event for the organization I worked for (a story in itself) and she was relieved when we were finally able to talk later that afternoon.

She morned the loss of the people who died but she also morned the loss of the Towers themselves. Her first question to me after finding out I was fine was, Will they rebuild them?” I told her confidently that yes they will. We vowed to go back to the top when it was finished. Unfortunately due to political squabbling, greed and incompetence; construction has yet to be finished. Soon though.

My DW and I, and our two dogs, went into GZ that evening as part of the emergency response. We weren't used there due to the dangerous situation but we did return to help out at the landfill a few days later. We did have friends who were part of FEMA who did work their dogs at GZ and who served in other capacities. There are certainly many images that I will never forget. It was a horrifying and sad sight to say the least.

Never Forget........9/11/01

Our DS is finally back in action with the Blue Angels this weekend in TN! He had around 10 weeks off from traveling with them because the senior Crew Chief for the #1 jet had taken most of the summer shows. I sure wish we could get down there to see him/them! Fly NAVY!

Get anything cool for you birthday Chris?

World Peace? Nope.
Trip to Disney? Nope.
A Chocolate Cake? Check!
Nice Handmade Cards from my kids? Check!
A Day where I could sit on the couch & watch the games? Check!

So, yes, I got cool stuff!

Any dads going to be in the Minneapolis area the week of 9/20 - 9/22? I will be at 3M for some training. You know they sell stuff that sticks so it is pretty technical :rotfl:

If anyone will be in the area let me know.

Good win by the Pats... 100% due to Brady. I worry about our defense going forward, high scoring offenses haven't won us a Superbowl yet. Good start to the season though. :thumbsup2
