9-11 is also on my mind. I was living in NY at the time. Less than a month before that tragic day, I took my daughter to the South Tower’s observatory. It was a perfect day, sunny, mild temps and a vista that was almost endless. I pointed to my office and she said, “I feel like I can almost touch it.” She was seven.

What a great memory you have with your DD. I have to say, I choked up a little when I saw these pics. Such a beautiful day when you were there... looks like a similar sky on that fateful morning. I have never made a trip to NYC and could not imagine what it would have been like on top of the towers. Thank you for sharing these with us :thumbsup2

Back from soccer. 8-0 shut out. Other team managed 2 shots on goal in the first half and none in the 2nd half. I even sat my stronger players at half time. Next week will be the true test. We play a really talented team that's been together a few seasons with a strong coach.

Congrats for the win! :cool1: And good luck next week! Or is it this week? :lmao:

Just got done booking a quick Kings Dominion , Busch Gardens Trip for Oct 1st & 2nd. Even booked the room in a Comfort Suites (it's almost like staying in The Grand Floridian:banana:)

Woohoo! I'd like to hear what your thoughts are on the new Mach Tower... especially after taking the plunge down Drop Zone at KD first.

Not sure if we'll be making it to BG on the 2nd. DW is not a fan of Howl-O-Scream and DD is still too small (and don't think she would ever sleep again if she ever did do it!)... so that would leave just me. Still working on something though. :thumbsup2

Good morning Dads
I could not sleep very well last night, kept seeing visions of Randall taunting me in my sleep:lmao:

Good Morning. I'm done for now. We sat behind a great family of Steelers fans, and I felt so bad for them, they took a lot of ribbing. But really, what happen to your guys?!?

Good morning. Well, I was expecting my Cowboys to be beaten pretty badly this game, so they ended up playing much better than I thought they would. I called the Romo INT, though. I turned to my wife just before the snap and said, "Classic Romo moment here - I can feel it. He will throw a pick." Sure enough, he does.

At least my Texas Rangers won (and Angels lost) - so I can take some solace in that.

Don't forget, today is the day they start the Disney Mom's Panel search for 2012. They start taking applications at 9:00am EST.

Thanks and congrats. I had 2nd in the Pick Em League last year (totally a fluke). Hopefully I have time to catch up. Once you're down in Pick em, it's hard to catch up.
My picks were so bad, I haven't even looked to see how deep of a hole I've dug for myself. I'm pretty sure I won't be winning back to back seasons.:lmao::rotfl2:

It is definitely an odd Monday. The Bills won yesterday! :scared1: I know they are just teasing us to get our hopes up but still, I wonder what other odd things this week has in store.

Morning guys! New kitten in the house yesterday, DW realizes at 11:30 last night that it's been 5 years since the house was "cat proofed". Until the claws come out our new little addition will be spending nights and unattended time in the master bathroom.

Beverly Jason Garrett. He needed to be fired over Wade Phillips. Up by 7 with the ball on the 3 yard line and he's having idiot Romo scramble around to fumble it. I don't get his multi-million dollar salary, but I've got an offensive call.

Run the ball right. If no TD, then ...
Run the ball left. If no TD, then ...
Run the ball wherever. If no TD, then ...

... kick a field goal. Go up by 10 points and require 2 scores. Idiot. The Cowboys can pack it in as long as that idiot Jones is running things and doesn't have a strong enough coach to stand up to him. Well, at least I get some good fantasy points.

Couldn't disagree more about Garrett and Phillips. Phillips was a terrible coach for this team and should have been fired before the season started.

Garrett didn't have Romo scramble. Dez Bryant got jammed and the line was collapsing around him. He had no choice but to scramble and Devito made a nice play to knock the ball out. You might question his going in head first instead of sliding but not the scramble.

Thought the same thing with the INT, classic Romo.

I didn't like Phillips but Garrett was the OC last year on opening game with the end of first half fiasco. I know Romo didn't execute and fumbled the ball, but a pass play should not have been called in that situation. If Romo checked out of a run play, then I take the heat off Garrett. But, I don't think he's the right coach.

All is good here. How is little Paul doing?

He's doing well, thanks Randall. He doesn't cry too much, but he spends all day grunting (when he's not eating). He's basically an 89 year old man. ;)

We're definitely finding #2 easier as well, so that's helping. Though I do miss 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep. Guess I'll have to wait another 18 years for that...

With his head coaching prowess he's shown over the years, I'm still in utter shock about the fact that Jones even hired him to begin with.

That said, he really is a great Def coach... just not the guy I'd want game planning on the sidelines.

I really don't see anything wrong with Garrett at this point. Time will tell, but I think for the most part he's done very well. Maybe a pass play shouldn't have been called in that situation, but as a coach, you have to have confidence in your players to execute in any situation. There's no guarantee that an RB isn't going to fumble in that situation either.

Good (almost) afternoon gents.

It seems that my weekends are generally busier then my weekdays, or maybe I just don’t spend as much time on the computer without my job requiring such. Either way, I’m waaaaaaaay behind on this here thread. If I get a chance I’ll try to catch up but for now I just hope y’all are doing well.

I never understood the Phillips hiring either. He is a very good defensive coordinator but certainly not a head coach.

In defense of the pass play, it wasn't like they were doing a good job running the ball (team total was 64 yards) but it certainly would have been the safer play. On the other hand, a 14 point deficit would be much harder to overcome than a 10 point lead.

My question is who blew the blocking coverage in the blocked punt? He came right up the middle!

Yeah, Cowboys tried every way they could to lose that game, and they did. I think the positive to take is Ryan's defense. I'm not sold yet on Jones at RB. I hope he proves me wrong.
