Well, Purdue's football program is already in mid-season form. Rob Henry, one of the 2 QB's they planned to use this year, and who actually played well last year as a Redshirt Freshman before injuries slowed him down is out with a torn ACL. :headache: This story is becoming all to familiar with the Boilers.

Thanks for the list-o-bad-jokes Randall (Good start to the day) :thumbsup2

Good Morning, Mr. Phelps

This thread will self-destruct in five seconds.

:lmao:

Can’t comment too much on the storms...
This one looks like It’ll miss us completely
(good thing ‘cause historically, we over due for one to hit around here ).

Y’all keep an eye on your six out there on the coast

Speaking of Irene, received this from Ron at 11:31 am.

"Fwd: Got a call from Amtrak looks I got a bonus day they already canceled so we are stuck in WDW oh no haha."

Don't think the word "stuck" and WDW should be in the same sentence. Unless it was "stuck on the monorail at WDW". :lmao:

Hey Dave theduck, I'm going to be up by the airport on Saturday. I've got a meeting at the Wyndham and will be done sometime Sat afternoon (usually around 2 or 3, but they say it will end at 5). Just thought I'd see if you're going to be around.

Thanks for all the kind words and congratulations guys! We're thrilled over here. Everything is going well.

DW tried to feed him this morning, but he refused and instead devoured all the bacon on my breakfast tray. He then looked at me as if to say; "Where's my Dole Whip?" :thumbsup2

Awwww, the poor guy is already being faced with an adult dilemma. Which to choose: breasts or bacon & Dole Whip? :confused3

We are still trying to decide what to do. If they move the tracking any further west we may be heading up to Ohio to visit my parents. I'd rather not leave the house to fair on it's own... but I also vowed after Isabel that I would never stick around for another hurricane. Just sitting here waiting patiently for now. popcorn::

They are reporting here that it is starting to shift a bit west, making landfall in Moorehead City. The weekend plans are slowly changing from "Darn, we can't go to the pool on Saturday" to "Time to start disassembling the gazebo!".

If Ohio won't have you, you can always head South to Raleigh! Although that wouldn't actually solve much.:confused3

A thought just occurred to me. If I do stay and weather Irene, perhaps I'll set up a webcam to monitor the progress. I could be like Jim Cantore and report outside in my raincoat and howling winds! :rotfl2: :tilt::umbrella:

Does your laptop have a broadband card and a good battery.

"UPDATE 3:26pm - The laptop now appears to be approaching the Maryland boarder."

FEMA calls Jim "The Harvenger of Death"!!! Every where he goes death follows. You see him arrive in town GET THE #$% OUT!!!
:rotfl2:There is a guy named Mark Sudduth who is a storm chaser (hurricanetrack.com), I was at Boston Market one lunch and he parked beside me in the chase vehicle. Right after the thought of how cool the truck was, my next thought was that I don't want to be within 200 miles of this guy.

Hey guys, just checking in quick from my phone in the hospital, wanted to share that my son was born today! DW and DS are both doing great. Probably won't be able to check in for a couple days (might sneak the MacBook in tomorrow) , but will post a couple pics on Facebook for those of you on there.

Hope all is well with everyone!!

 Congratulations!

With a new baby, I expect that we should be closing the thread down by the end of the weekend!

Awwww, the poor guy is already being faced with an adult dilemma. Which to choose: breasts or bacon & Dole Whip? :confused3

And we have a winner! :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

Can't blame you there. I'm still wondering if they're going to evacuate any parts of Del. or not. I've been told to be on call, because I may have to come in for emergency road work if the damage is really bad. So I guess I'm here for the duration.

The Scouts cancelled my Wood Badge course this weekend. Something about camping outside and a hurricane...

Norm had the best line on FB thus far, "What! Are you in girl scouts?" :lmao:

You know, if I didn't think the mods would frown upon it, that could be our next thread title...
Breasts, Bacon and Dole Whips

Maybe Bacon, Breasts, and Dole Whips would get it past the censors? :confused3

Received from Ron at 1:23 pm.

Been stuck waiting for the Monorail, its not fun. In January our return flight got cancelled so we were stuck at Disney for a day. There are definitely worse places to get stuck. Only problem is when your stuck you're usually busy trying to get unstuck and that means you don't get to enjoy where you are. Also when you extend a day like that disney doesn't always extend the hotel discount the original reservation was booked with.

We are heading to Gaston for the weekend. Why wait out a hurricane in a well supplied home when you can head to a poorly stocked remote lake house instead?

Those storm tracker trucks are awesome. Is that the one with the LED panel and all the wind gauges?

I'm pretty sure the correct choice is "D)all of the above".

Actually... we seriously thought about keeping our Myrtle Beach reservation and head down there... but Irene (like any woman) has changed her mind where she wants to go :rolleyes1 :crutches:

:lmao: Why yes it does! But if the storm surge gets to my house, pretty much ALL of Virginia Beach will be found in MD!

:lmao: I always wonder whose idea it was to send the poor guy out in the middle of the storm when everyone else has to evacuate. I'm pretty sure we know the storm is fierce--why do we need a guy getting blasted sideways to confirm it? :confused3 :rotfl2:

His initials are JC :thumbsup2

I may be, it depends on what time swimming for the girls is over. I live just a few minutes from there so it would not be hard to get over there.
