Welcome aboard! Grab a beer out of the fridge and a hand full of cheese balls from the 55-Gallon drum over there in the corner and jump on into the conversation. The topic for today is… Oh who am I kidding, we can’t pay… “Squirrel!!!!” attention long enough to actually follow a single topic for very long. Now then… What was I on about?

You know curiosity may just get the best of me on this one. We live 5 minutes from an orchard and i may have to bring some home for our K-9 gas machine we call a pet. :rotfl2:

To quote my own TR… “Some can be told that it’s dangerous and believe it. Some have to read the sign on the fence before they’ll believe it, and a few have to actually grab hold of the thing before they’re convinced. Then there’s minority that are so stubborn that they just have to tempt fate and piss on the electric fence before they’ll believe you”

You may be falling into that last category.

[Shameless Plug]
If you liked that last little bit (and even if you didn’t)… I’ve added some new really pointless stuff to said TR, so if any anyone out there that is just board beyond all belief, go give the last page a perusal, and I’ll likely send you on over the edge (and as a bonus, you can make all the snide commentary and sarcastic remarks you want).

Welcome Home Nate. Glad to hear you had a great time. We're heading down there in 12 days....anything you would recommend?

No paricular order...

- RideMakerz in Broadway at the Beach...Made my self a realy cool Mater Hotrod (Father's day treat from Boys)...DS11 made a "Stealth" Mater Monster truck..he got a RC controls base. I'd seen RideMakerz before both there and in DTD in Orlando....but when I walked by this one and saw they now had Disney/Pixar Cars... I was sold!!! This store is geared toward boys...but I saw some girls having fun too...mostly dads geeking out over how cool this stuff was...present company exclude.

- The Disney Store in the Tanger Mall at the Junction of hwy 17/22...they had some nice DisneyLAND clearance items...I found a matching hat to my WDW hat...except the DL version...for $10 I also got the Brown/Orange "Por Favor Mantengase alejado de las purtas" hat for only $5...found a nice DL T-Shirt that was marked for $32...for only $10. :thumbsup2...Lady at the counter said they were the only Disney Store in the State when I inquired about the other Tanger Mall located on Hwy 501 between the Beach and Conway.

- Pirate Voyage Dinner Show...formerly Dixie Stampede. OK...probably not the best show I've ever seen...but it was pretty good and DS11 seemed to enjoy it...DS16 said he liked it too. Pre-show there are just a few songs and what not while they try to get you to order some drinks and shop in the gift shop...I also noticed a little area something like the Pirate League where they would deck out your kids in pirate gear... If you call for reservations I would recommend getting a seat toward the center and top of either side...we had front row seats near the edge and DW and I had difficulty seeing parts of the show due to props on the center stage...however we did get the closest view of the Sea Lions... food is the same as the Dixie Stampede...love the soup...Chicken was OK...BBQ Rib was OK...they've added Shirmp...OK too.

- Ella's in Callabash, NC (Thanks Steve!)... good Seafood at a resonable price...well worth the extra drive...and thankfully not a buffet...I'm not big on Buffets...personal thing.

- Also...didn't do it...but Mt. Atlanticus "Minotaur" Golf looked fun. LINK

We spent allot of time on the beach...playing in the waves and sand...and just vegging out.

Thanks for a great list of stuff to check out! I think we'll definitely have to check out their Disney store as the nearest one to us is an hour away and isn't very impressive.

How long of a drive was it to Ella's from where you all stayed? We always enjoy a good seafood restaurant but, like you, stay away from the buffet feeding troughs.

Mt. Atlanticus sounds fun....I think my girls would have fun with some putt-putt.

Thanks again Nate.

Well, I'm back after being offline since Friday morning. A company we work with had a 10 year anniversary luncheon at Purdue on Friday. The football coach, Danny Hope, spoke to us and then we got to play a round of golf on Purdue's course that hosted the Big Ten tournament a few weeks ago. Well, some people golfed, I just tried to see how many times I could make the ball skip across the water before it sank. This weekend I spent a lot of time working outside, catching up projects I hadn't had time to do the last few weeks while we were busy on the farm. Needless to say, I look like a lobster (yes, I used sunscreen, and no, it apparently wasn't sweatproof) and I need easy day at work today to rest and recover. :lmao::rotfl2:

Anyone know what happens when you load one of those single shell/ mortar/ tube fireworks upside down? I was the less drunk one. Fortunately, no one was injured.
Ever tried about 3 or 4 in the tube at the same time?:confused3 :lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

[Runs in]

[Jumps up on a chair]

I'm leaving for Disney World in 11 days!

[Jumps off chair]

[Runs screaming out the door]
Barry... switch to decaf.:thumbsup2

oh, and congratulations, I'd be pretty excited about that too!

Welcome to the club, glad you found us. How old was the baby on the first visit?

Congrats!!

Monkey farts are the worse :lmao:
At least he hasn't started throwing poop yet though.

Psst...I went back and put in some links for you. :thumbsup2

Ella's was about 20-25 Minutes using Hwy 31 to Hwy 9...back to Hwy17

Hwy 31 is Interstate grade road lets you get around allot of Stop and go traffic. From Myrtle Beach to the very top part of North Myrtle. I plotted a course using a map...but plugged in the address into my Tom Tom...and it had the same Idea...which is rare for me... My TomTom Yoda voice usually calls me Rebelious.

Krispy Kreme has made my day!

I don't know about your neck(s) of the woods, but the Krispy Kreme here in Madison is doing a promo this week . . . trade in a tie for a free dozen glazed donuts!

I lucked out because they were just being glazed off the belt when I was in to buy my donuts! A dozen HOT donuts for a crappy old tie! Score!

VAcation is over....I am working the late shift...and I am on call.....I need to stop sobbing and pull myself togehter and get out the door!:guilty:

Anybody know if you can use Disney gift cards to pay for Dining Plan?

Yes, you can use Disney Gift Cards to pay for resort reservations. Did it myself this year. Bought them when they were having Double Fuel Perks at Giant Eagle (local grocery store for those not in western PA). By paying for my trip this way I got $400+ in free gas, basically saving 13% off my Disney trip.

Cheers,
Indy

Wow! Congrats on the found money! :cool1: But I'm guessing this has also made you realize how much she's grown up now. Enjoy your time at WDW!!! :woohoo:

I wonder if there is any money in a reality TV show that would follow Disney fanatics to WDW/WL/vacation... then document the whopping slap of reality received when work hits them in the face! :confused3 :lmao::rotfl2: :sad1:
Here's a bitter-sweet welcome back!
