Serious question.. My wife wants to spread a little magic at Disney. She bought a peanut butter load of tiny bubbles in a bottle things and says she want to give them to the borderline meltdown kids at the parks..

Would you guys freak out if someone gave your little ones bubbles?

Have you ever done anything like this?

If you did, how did it go?

We always do something at the parks to brighten somebodies day.
One year on our last day we went to hard rock DTD. There was family there (3 teens and mom and dad) that was scrutinizing the menu... They were defiantly on a budget.. The waiter told them it was on the house before they ordered.. (we paid). Come to find out it was his wife's birthday and that was the only TS that she asked for on the trip. It really lifts our spirit to do something like this!
Bought popcorn and soda for some teens that had brought their lunch in from home!! Can't wait to do it again. :thumbsup2

I think it is great to do things like that for people...:thumbsup2

Just rolled into O-town and all checked into my extended stay hotel, I see a lot of pizza in my future and severe boredom, thankfully, we got some NBA Playoff action to keep me entertained (GO HEAT!). Tomorrow is my first day at the new job, so going to take it easy tonight maybe do a little exploring after work tomorrow if they don't beat me up too badly.

Anyone else read that they are revamping the Echanted Tiki Room at WDW to make it more like the original concept? I know there are alot of people that like that ride (I think it more closely compares to Stitches great adventure) so I am curious about other people's thoughts on these changes.

There have been a couple posts from people commenting about wanting to stay at the contemporary. Recently The Disney Parks blog had pictures of Original Contemporary Rooms compared to the way they look now.

I think the old rooms like pretty cool.

I heard the same rumors about the Tiki Room. I'd be good with them going back to the old show, I enjoyed it fine....

We stayed at the Contemporary in January, and I really enjoyed it, but did think there was a lack of Disney theming in the rooms. It was almost identical to the MGM resorts in Vegas and CT.

I have no problem, I'd like to see the old version, I've never seen it. I had no issues with the new version, I laughed, and I know DD1 will miss it. For the most part though, it seems like people get what they wanted, the old version and rid of the new one, BUT...wasn't the main issue with the old Tiki Room is that people never went in it? Will this be an issue again in the future?

Back from the game. It was one of the best hockey games I've seen in a while, but, we lost 3-2 in overtime....what a bummer.:sad1:

The mail came today, and look what I found in it:

AWESOME!

hi, just joined..Wife been on here for years. Headed to wdw in 2 weeks. Then im going on first cruise on theDream. Wife and son very excited.

Welcome!

Hello DIS Dads,

Occasional DISboard lurker and big Disney fan. My wife (long time DISboard member "DannysMom") finally convinced me to create a log in by telling me about a "Dad's Club thread" so here I am. Heading with the family down to Disney World for a stay at the Beach Club in June for my older sons 8th Birthday. This will be the first trip for our boy/girl twins who will be almost 2.

Should be quite an adventure :goodvibes

Regard,

Jim

Welcome, Jim!

You know what would be cool is if they built simulators for all the old rides. I'm sure they don't have the video footage they would need in order to build that but it would be a really cool way to let those rides live on when the are taken out of use.

The imagineers just did almost this for a presentation at the Destination D D23 event this weekend. They did a whole presentation on the Western River Adventure ride that was supposed to be part of the Big Thunder Mountain project, but never got built because everyone was clamoring for Pirates of the Caribbean (and it was essentially another version of the same ride). They showed off an incredibly detailed concept model and a bunch of re-done concept art. (And, disappointingly, it was the one session during Destination D during which photography and video were forbidden).

We have we bring extra glow stick bracelets and hand them out to kids near us that dont have any thing. We get big thank you's from the kids and the parents. Those that dont already have the disney bought things that they sell
they are probably on a budget just like us. We buy the packs at the dollar
store and hand out probably a pack a night.

Care for a little wager ther oXar? Bulls vs Heat?

I've already got my Miami based client going Lou's Pizza against some Joe's Stone Crab. He didn't think that was fair, so I threw in some 2011 World Series tickets (Wrigley Field only). :rotfl2:

game or series?

The DDC Rant thread is posting at approx. the rate of 5:1 over the DDC praise thread.

What does that say 'bout us?

exactly what I was thinking.....Saturday only, I don't get a lot of vacation time with this new gig.....

No problem. I usually have meetings in Miami and occasionally I can set up Friday / Monday schedules, which allows me the opportunity to drive north for a quick fix.

I'm in if you want. I think Joes is overhyped. Have you ever tried Tobacco Road? It's somewhat of a dive (OK it is a dive) but they serve pretty good burgers. It is near downtown. DD wants to watch Survivor so I haven't seen any of the game. Will check it out in a bit.

I'll put up a "loser buys" for a great place in Miami. Since you're the local, I'll defer to your pick but look forward to making a Dis Dad meetup there.

I know you have posted them but I am sure everyone on here would like to see the pics of those cars!!:cool1: inside and out! Don't make me wait!! :rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

Ask and you shall recieve:wizard:

Let's play a game.

This mustang is not mine, but belongs to a DISdad.
