What do I need to do to partcicpate?

I have DisDadDoc, Disney Commando, and carlnix30 signed up so far.

I'd like to add one more, and have offers from both you (DEA) and prattpak (who have both appeared on two eps already). I'll give it a couple of days to see if I get another "newbie" to step forward (I know jason was interested, but needed to get a headset).

What do I need to do to participate?

You need Skype software and a reliable microphone with limited background noise. Some on-board mics on laptops will work. I prefer a headset, because if you use the on-board mic, you can't really type on your computer while we're recording (because the typing sound comes through).

We're trying to go with an every-two-weeks recording schedule right now, with five people on the podcast each time. I'm the host, and we have a rotating panel of four Dis Dad clubbers. I'm happy to have new folks participate. I have three panelists confirmed for the March 31 recording, so there's one slot remaining. I've had several people express interest, but none yet confirmed. It really helps me if people who are interested in participating Email me at my screen name @disdads.com, as I can keep it all in one place that way, and also have contact information so I can respond easily.

I agree there is room and there is no way that Disney will build DVC at BLT,GF and leave the poly out.Like you said it will be a timing issue.I for one dont think GF will sell that well,at least not as fast as BLT or a future Poly would.

I don't Disney will have a problem selling the points. Personally, I won't buy them, but I'm sure there are two groups that would:

1. The people that have stay at GF every time they go to Disney. Just like every resort, I'm sure it has its dedicated fans. Once they realize they can buy a piece of their favorite resort, they'll probably jump at the chance
2. People that just want to buy into DVC. Since Disney only sells so many active resorts, once BLT and Animal Kingdom (and others that are currently beig sold) are sold out, if people want to buy new points, they have to do it at GF or wait several years to see if they actually do a DVC conversion at the Poly or Ft. Wilderness or anywhere else

On as side note, I've got the music track to Illuminations playing on a loop. It's only 9 1/2 minutes long, but it's not getting old!

Take 'em to school! This is why I like doing my own travel planning...

I'm their easiest customer I go in tell them what I want and they don't have to ask me anything. Although it is the same cost as if I booked with Disney, I get any promo Disney is offering, plus all the perks AAA offers.

This year I did really good, besides the Kids Stay & Play Free Promo, plus AAA perks, I also got a $25 WDW GC + Disney kids carry-on a extra $139 bonus

Exactly. We honeymooned at the GF, but I have no desire to own there. But I know many people who do. While I cannot predict how fast it will sell, I don't doubt in the least that there will be a lot of trouble drumming up interest, unless they price it too high too fast, as I believe happened with BLT. But even so, BLT is approaching sellout, and having something "new" lined up to take its place is important to them.

You said up my way Monday, Tuesday & Thursday, right? Well those are all days I'm busy with meetings, lunch appointments and the like! Mondays are always bad regardless... but next week, in preparation for being gone on vacation, the rest has pretty much filled up. Why don't we try to find a time in the week after my WDW trip, or that isn't good for you, you suggest something. Are you on FB by chance? I haven't checked in with the group info over there to see... if so, we should connect. I use FB a lot for messaging folks.
