Bump.

Where is everyone tonight? I'm in Fort Lauderdale for a meeting. So close to WDW, yet so far!

Everyone watching UNC tonight? My brother did the Brer Grillis commercial that they keep showing. Not his best (client's idea), but still cool!

Hey Chris, I guess some of us have to work this weekend:confused3
I am in southern GA for a tradeshow tomorrow, I guess everyone else is busy with the families.

Cool commercial!!:thumbsup2

Thanks! I guess it's just you and me today & tomorrow!

My wife used to work for a company that put on tradeshows. We called it the "crappiest cities in the midwest tour": Duluth, MN (which I actually liked). & cities of that ilk. What tradeshow are you at?

I'm at a small customer's show in Cordele, GA. Not one of the major shows in the steel industry. :)
If you drive 3 hours north and I drive 3 hours south, we could have breakfast at DW and skip the shows/conferences. :lmao::rotfl2::lmao:

That would be awesome! But we'd probably both get in trouble somehow...

I may have to do this trip for the next 3 years. Gotta figure a way to get to Dis next time!

Are you going to take the drive to WDW even just to ride the monorail:confused3

You could always do a layover in Orlando.

That's what I'm thinking. I found out after I got this flight that they would have let me fly in & out of two different cities, so I could've rented a car & driven up! Next time....

Just found out yet another thing I'll have to see in MK in August:cool1: Magician Mickey in the Main Street Theater, according to the WDW news it is coming soon:confused3

:car: You can do that for the next two years!!!!
Are you taking your daughter to BBB this trip or has she outgrown that? We took our's when they were 5 & 6 and they loved it but when we go in December we will not since they would rather ride the rides now.:cool1:

I don't know if I could ever stay off property again. :confused3
If it was a budget thing and staying offsite meant the difference between being able to afford the trip or not, I'd absolutely stay offsite and enjoy it, but having stayed onsite, I'm definitely spoiled. I just love being on Disney property the whole time. Even though we drive, I still love having the option of using Disney transportation, which we do quite often.

Sorry to all you Kentucky dads.....but.... GO BUCKS!
:thumbsup2 (but only because it is the only Big Ten team left to support)

She's got very sensitive skin (bad eczema flares), so we've steered away from BBB. Plus, she'd rather ride the rides!

I was out at a bar here in Rochester, MN, watching my Jayhawks squash the itsy bitsy Spiders from Richmond. :cool1:

Now, it's on to the Elite 8 and a game on Sunday. party:

Boo. Go Wilcats.

As for discussion about staying on Disney property, I thought the same until staying at VWL. We never had to take a bus to a theme park (didn't go to DHS or AK) that trip. We could see Wishes from resort. And, boating around Bay Lake is special. We own at BLT and DW wants to buy in to BC for that same reason. It really is a different experience and something special.

I agree. Staying on property (especially when you cab avoid the buses!) is a wonderful indulgence!

But, we've stayed off property & it was fine renting a car & driving in. AK, Epcot & HS are especially easy to drive into & having a car gives you a lot if freedom. Like anything, there are plusses and minuses.

This Ohio-Kentucky game is a good one!

Yes, I love the little things about staying in a Disney hotel. On our last trip, my wife, my sisters and I were walking around POP one evening. Just taking a leisurely stroll while we chatted and enjoyed some adult beverages. We ended up walking out on the bridge and from there we were able to see fireworks (I assume Illuminations?)

That was really neat though, we were out on the bridge without anyone else around enjoying the peace of the evening and all of a sudden we see a fireworks show to remind us where we are. Just one of those little special Disney moments.

Yes, it seemed a little more sloppy than I expected, but with a 30-30 halftime score it really can't be that sloppy of a game. Harrelson has been a monster in this tournament... very impressed by him so far tonight.

Hey guys,

Heading up to NH tomorrow to meet my brand-new nephew. I won't be around for a couple of days, so I'll be sure to look for DDC VIII on Wednesday when I get back. But I may have a couple of DisDad meets to report if all goes well! :thumbsup2

Oh, and I agree with the other guys: staying on property just seems like part of the magic.

Have a great weekend!

Whew...we ended up driving all the way today!
10hrs, 8 potty stops, 2 gas stops, 1 food stop later we are in Lake Buena Vista. Was able to get a free room at the Hampton Inn with my Hilton points! Ready to have fun tomorrow. Planning on breakfast at Kona, check=in at POR and then head over to Epcot. Should be good...
will meet up with the rest of our group of 13 tomorrow afternoon.:cool1::banana::yay::woohoo::wizard:
