I thought I had been posting a lot more lately....guess I can't touch these guys!

And I didn't even get any recognition when I hit 100 posts....:headache:

:)

Way to go! Woo hoo...only 997 to go til you reach your first thousand!

I still haven't gotten around to getting a headset, but I feel almost like some of my experience is inadequate compared to the guys who have done the first 2 podcasts. You're doing a great job of putting together entertaining and informative shows. Hopefully I can get my headset and get with you on one in the future if a topic comes up that I feel qualified to talk about.

Andy,
The great things about Podcast is the reason why people listen to them. I listen to them to get other peoples view of things even if it is/was your first trip I love hearing how people got through their first visit all the way to people like Aaron or Christopher who have been there more times then they can count on both hands. The little tidbits of info every contributes will help others feel not so over whelmed by this HUGE new world to them called Disneyworld.

Don't be fooled by us sounding confident.
I've only been to WDW once, and that was just this past October. I just researched pretty obsessively leading up to the trip!

SWEET!!!! Looking to that read CJ!! Thanks for the input.:cool1:

The problem with DVC at the Poly is space. There's just not room for another longhouse. That would mean converting an existing longhouse to DVC, but (from what I understand) Disney isn't having any problem selling those rooms to cash guests. I guess the most likely possibility would be to convert the Tonga suites to DVC, if the economy is preventing enough of those rooms from being sold.

Actually I wouldn't be surprised if they followed the same model as what they did at the Contemporary. My guess is they will most likely take a portion of the least expensive rooms and convert this area to DVC after extensive renovation/rebuilding. The Contemporary never had any problem selling out the north garden wing area either but they didn't hesitate to demolish it and take half of the previously available cheapest rooms for the DVC project.

Don't take it as gospel though Dave or anyone else... it totally depends on where bookings for the rest of their fiscal year are at (it ends Sep 30th), if they are projecting higher, there might not be much on the promo front, but if they are even only moderately higher, they could still have a spring or summer push to end their year strong. My read from talking with friends in the know is that bookings are up, but only moderately so.

im hoping for moderate high!:thumbsup2

The Poly is a cash cow, that is true, but so is the Grand, especially in the wedding/honeymoon area. It is the crown jewel of the entire resort, and of course the most expensive rooms in their portfolio. IF in fact they go with adding DVC to the GF, you can definitely know that the Poly will happen too. It's just a matter of timing. Consider too, that the Poly is 40 yrs old, just 10 years away from being functionally obsolete and will be viewed for a major rehab. There's definitely a reason DVC resorts have an expiration to them vs. Being sold in perpetuity. Just look at the complete rebuild going on at the DL Hotel, the towers of which are just a few yrs older than both the Poly & the Contemporary and you'll realize that BOTH of them will need lots of TLC within the next decade. THere IS space there...just not in the current configuration, but that doesn't mean that WDI isn't looking at all of their options for reconfiguring and bringing that late '60s/early 70s design up to 21st century ideals.

I agree there is room and there is no way that Disney will build DVC at BLT,GF and leave the poly out.Like you said it will be a timing issue.I for one dont think GF will sell that well,at least not as fast as BLT or a future Poly would.

I thought you sounded fine. I also used the mic from my laptop. Hopefully, my volumes were good, too :scared1:

Sitting in the Hartford Airport, en-route to a meeting in Fort Lauderdale. The gate next to me is headed to MCO. So, close, yet so far!

No kidding... they should really space those terminals further apart.... :rotfl2:

Actually, when our last flight was delayed, it was quite enjoyable watching the people over at the next gate board their plane. I was able to say to myself: "Yeah, you're getting on your plane, but you're getting off in Dubuque!" :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Christopher i was over on the DVC board and saw about the GF Villas that are "rumored" to be next. I was wondering what DVC members here think as I didnt see anyof you postintg there.Me personally would have loved to see them do the rumored river country dvc.
Anyone care to comment?

The GF rumors are very similar to what happened at BLT. First a layout comes out, Disney says that they are building but will not confirm a DVC. It is going to happen. I also imagine that Ft. Wilderness and Poly DVC’s will follow. I don’t get Ft. Wilderness though.

I own at BWV and am done buying points. While I am not buying, they will go on my list of see if you can visit resorts. We stayed at every resort but HH and Saratoga. A week ago I stayed at BLT and it was very nice. Each DVC has their own different ambiance and amenities. As long I don’t try to get a reservation during peak times I think I will be able to stay at the GF.

Told the child the new rumor. Quoting her, “Oh, I want to stay there. What can I say, I have expensive tastes.” I responded that she either needs to get a well-paying job or marry well.
