Pssssssst... (looks around for unexpected ears)... for 3 days you can get free shipping at the Disney Store for any DisneyParks merchandise... code: CASTLE. Check out the hat they have online:

1. Great beaches! New Jersey has a "shore", we have beaches. And ours are Snooki-free! Rehoboth Beach is the most popular destination, but I prefer the relative quiet of Bethany Beach.

From what I remember from them in college (some of that is a bit blurry), the beaches were great! :thumbsup2

They've been trying to sell that %*#^* hat for weeks now! It was also on-sale during the Phineas and Ferb promotion last week! :lmao:

The sales have been very good the last couple of weeks. We've stocked up on some nice stuff in anticipation of our April trip :cool1:

4. The DENVER CHOPHOUSE- possibly in the same caliber as Le Cellier***

How far out of Denver are you, Mark? I have to be in Denver for a conference May 16-19th.

10. The small-town charm of Gumboro, Del.

11. Just kidding about Gumboro.
I'll admit, I had to look up Gumboro. It's Wikipedia entry is 6 sentences long - 3 of which are about the chicken disease that was discovered there.
Sign me up for a tour!

5. COORS FIELD- Home of YOUR Colorado Rockies and even more famous, the "ROCKY DOG" foot long loaded with Kraut, Grilled Peppers and Grilled Onions. ****
6. ELITCH GARDENS- Home to some of the sweetest coasters this side of Minnesota. *****
4 Rocky Dogs, and a trip to Elitch Gardens. Sounds like a challenge to me! Count me in a soon as I get back from Gumboro.

Glad to sse alot of dad playing the "come to my neck of the woods game" I will be going back and cutting and pasting all of these posts into one spreadsheet for further use. There have been a couple that have caught my eye and I will be looking into your neck of the woods a little closer!

Keep them coming guys!!!
We're still waiting on your entry, Carl. :thumbsup2

OH my:scared1:
A Family member of mine just got home from their week at Disney. His comments about Disney was, it is overrated.:scared1::scared1::scared1:
I tried my best to explain to him that is may be overpriced but could never be overrated. I guess there are people out there that just cant seem to see or feel the magic of Walts dream!!:confused3

Explosions... but that's a pretty good start.:thumbsup2

Yes, explosions make everything better.

I've stayed in a hotel down the road from there a few times, but never been on the property. That is definitely a place I want to go see a race at though.

Make sure you let me know if you make it over here!

Honestly, you can't make this stuff up. I'll drop you off for the tour, and uh...you can let me know how it was. :thumbsup2

Um… Well… Errrr… Really? :sad2:

Well, as you’re actually considering compiling this stuff, let me add a couple of things from the Carolina Border area (and if for some unlikely reason you were to stop here, just holler out and I’m sure I can find more things to get into)

- Historic Brattonsville (another Revolutionary War Battle field and living history museum)
- Reed’s Gold Mine (historic site & museum, site of first documented gold strike in US)
- Discovery Place (an excellent hands on teaching museum)
- The Mint Museum (Modern and Traditional Art and exhibits)
- James K. Polk Birthplace (small museum and living history center dedicated to one of the two presidents that were born in this area only to end up calling Tennessee home)
- Andrew Jackson State Park (a very fine picnic and outdoor activity park in honor of the other one)

From here you can also get to the Smoky Mountains, the beaches of the “Grand Strand” or the Charleston / Savannah area within three-ish hours (and there’s tons of stuff to get into in those locations)

Yesterday at work, I played Disney travel agent for a couple of new co-workers. What a productive day.

I'm heading to Vegas on Fri for a conf. (besides the obvious gambling/girls/shows). Thanks.

Could not think of why you would want to do anything else!

He did not have you as a tour guide. In my Disney travel agent role yesterday, I was explaining park tickets, DP, off vs on property, etc when someone else says "we're going on Spring Break. Do you need dining reservations?". I don't expect he will have the same trip experience I will.

I get this response about once a month at work. My canned response, "You haven't done Disney with me. If we went to Disney together, you'd have a fabulous time".

Unfortunately, I think that "those" people aren't prepared for Disney. I can easily imagine getting overwhelmed by it all (my daughter and I chuckle at the folks stopping to pick up a map to the park. Who doesn't know their way around the park?) But it seems crazy not to prepare for a trip like Disney. If you're spending that much money, at least buy a book to give you an overview!

There are just some people that just wont take advice from other people. They feel they dont need it!! They seem to be the ones that just dont get the magic!!! and dont enjoy their trips as much.

I never really know what to say to people who don't like Disney. I don't get into much of a debate, because the way I see it, you either get it or you don't. If you don't like it, that's one more person that won't be in line in front of me.:lmao:

I ALWAYS grab a map... basically every time I walk into the park. I really don't need one, but I feel like I should be carrying one at all times. Maybe it is so that I can pull it out of my pocket and know that, yes, I am really at Walt Disney World.

I actually enjoy just looking at the maps. Maybe I should get one on the way out of the park (so it isn't crumpled up) and have it framed. :rotfl2:

Good morning Dis Dads. I could not sleep last night and was up at 3:00. I don’t think it is due to our upcoming trip for a couple of days in the World. It was not the “I was too excited to sleep” syndrome. That will come in a couple of days. Easy day today though. Only a couple of errands to run.

Mike, any idea if the Angels will be stopping in Miami? I am pretty sure they will be in the Broward (Ft. Lauderdale) air show but did not see anything for Miami.

Hope everyone has a good day.

What days will you be at WDW. We will be there the 21st-23rd?

Our whole family is getting the pre-disney jitters. Last night DW prepared a fancy dinner to help teach the kids proper manners in a fine dining environment. The selected "classical" backround music was the "Wishes" soundtrack.

All right Dis Dads I am coming here for help. I have planned a surprise trip for my daughter (5) and myself for the end of June. Booked CBR but not sure that is the best moderate choice for single parent with daughter in tow. Size wise will it be too much? Food selection?

We stayed at CSR in December and really liked everything about it except the bus service. Am I crazy for trying something different or is there a better moderate resort for a daddy/daughter trip?

You can order personalized ones from the Disney website. In full disclosure, we usually grab maps, too, we just don't need them. :thumbsup2

Don't stress too much! That's a great thing about Disney, no one gives you a hard time for having kids!

I think you’ll be fine either way. CBR is a fine resort (one of my favorites) and if you can somehow get in a request to be in building 25 or 26 near Old Port Royal, then almost everything worth doing (from bus to food to pools) will be within a very short walk. Now the smallest “Moderate” is the French Quarter (my other favorite). Everything is within walking distance there and you can take a boat to Downtown Disney. Depending on the park visited, It shares a bus with POR, but they pick up at POFQ first.

Is it wrong that when my wife asked me to throw out her pumpkins this fall, that I took the 12 gauge with me and helped start the decomposition process??:rotfl2:
If Wrong = Awesome, then yes, it is very, very wrong.

Yes, explosions make everything better.
I thought bacon made everything better? Explosions certainly don't make bacon better - they waste bacon.
Eating bacon while watching explosions? Now that's a good time!

We always grab them too. The kids love them and we're actually teaching them how to read maps and navigate using them. It's educational!
