Don't make too many plans....just enjoy the last day!!! And think of us when you are doing it LOL

:thumbsup2 i get involved with a group that does what they call "holiday breakins". friends or a close family member apply and tell there story of the family in need. lost jobs, just no money, and wouldnt be able to afford anything for christmas. (i know, its not about the toys but it is about giving) anyway, those chosen have no idea, the friend gets the team in the house, police are also notified, set up a tree, decorate a bit, and leave gifts. no notes are left, they have no idea who it was and the team never gives any names of the people who got broken into. they come home from school and work and, merry christamas!!! they di 45 families last year and we are shooting for 60 this year. we are almost there.:thumbsup2

Wow. Now THAT is a totally awesome idea and a great way to do things.

Wow we had our best day at Mk never waited more then 10 mins for a ride well peter pan was 15 min .Did Space mountain 3 times, race cars twice, tea cups, buzz, pooh, snow white, dumbo, peter pan, mickey phillharmagic, pirates ,aladdin, thunder mountain, splash mountain 3 times ( yes I said Splash mountain) bear jamboree, parade, street dance party, show at castle, hell we even stayed in the park and ate lunch which is very very rare for us.Even found time for shopping lol.we left around 6&and dont ask me how but we didnt even have to wait for the bus it was there and I even got to sit.Bus left with empty seats:confused3

Just ONE time, I would love to hit a park where we could just walk on everything like you did. Guess we just don't go at the right time.

Hope all of you are staying warm. We had a heat wave yesterday here in NC; high was 40. Hope it was warmer in WDW.

The extra early magic hr really helps.you can crusie throught the rides and then take it easy the rest of the day. There was some 20 minute lines later in day but we had already done the rides by then.:thumbsup2
As far as heat wave I have been in shorts al week, kids were in pool, and we still did splash mountain. So it wasnt to bad down here lol

That's awesome! I've never been able to get through things quite that quick, but it definitely helps when you get there early and breeze through a few of the big lines. I've also only been there in July/August, so I'm pretty sure I've never seen what a low crowd day looks like.
As far as the weather goes... anything would be a welcome break from the single digit through mid 20's temps that we've had the past week or so.

So, having not explored beyond this thread for a while, just HOW busy are the parks between Christmas & New Years? I'm not *planning* on doing more than about 4 rides per day, focusing instead on shows and taking pictures of the decorations. But even with EMH, aren't Toy Story and Rock & Roller coaster going to have 90 minute stand by lines?:confused3

17 days.... I hope it warms up by then!

oh, and Stopher you would be more likely to know: The pin code thread said Disney was doing away with bouncebacks. This is the year i'd consider one... any chance the threads are lying?

I learned about the Dad's Club reading dvczerfs on the 2,000+ mile drivers transportation thread so I figured I'd come over and have a look. Also we're leaving to go down in about 11 hours and although I love going I hate packing. I see that you guys assign membership numbers. I find that a little intimidating because once I have a number I'll feel obligated to post regularly and I'm kind of.....well I guess lazy is a good word, although give me a couch and a tv remote and my thumb will get quite a good workout. We started going in the late 80s when our kids were very young. I have to admit I was kind of dragged down there the first time. We went every other year until the mid 90s when we started going every year. Recently we've been going twice a year. Notice a trend here? Anyway, since you guys seem to have such a good time, I think I'll become a regular reader if only an occasional poster. I'll check in with you from WDW.

Intimidated, eh? I think the only thing you'll find intimidating around here is the toilet! :lmao: You are member # 545! :thumbsup2

:welcome: WELCOME TO THE DIS DAD'S CLUB! :welcome:

You have been added to the DIS Dad's Club list :thumbsup2

That's a fantastic idea!! Anyone ever leave a camera rolling in the background during the initial reaction?? I've got to Google this now....

:cloud9: Are you sure you weren't dreaming, Carl? I mean... Splash Mountain? Sounds like a wet dream to me :rolleyes1 :rotfl2::rotfl2:

:lmao: every flippin cheerleader in the world is over there!!!:lmao:

Save the cheerleader... save the world! :lmao:

Tour Guide MIke called it as a green low crowd day at MK today....I usually go by his recomendations and he is usually right on it...Howeve,r today he also said HS studios would be green and low crowd...sorry Dave he can't win them all :rotfl2:

I forgot to tell you guys that when we were at HS that Lauren got pushed to the side by Little Einsteins character June. I got it on video...and a CM saw us taping....They came up to us and wanted to see the video and then wanted to make up for June's rudeness....I was so embarassed...freak accident....she didnt get hurt or anything...no big deal as far as I was concerned...but...they insisted on escourting us to meet all the characters in the meet and greet area of the animation studio part and then got us to the front of the line of Toy Story...I was so embarassed..but didnt have to wait in line that one time
LOL

 Definitely sounds like an accident... and I'd be embarrassed by the treatment, too. Now if it was intentional it would be a different story!

Have a great time Mark!

CRUD!

So the past week or so has been absolutely crazy with work, family etc. I was in NYC for a day where I was able to take an hour and walk over to Rock Plaza to see the tree but otherwise I've been on the go. I did get to go see Mary (our 2nd grader) perform in the school Christmas pagent last night which was nice.

I hope that everyone is doing well, and I hope to catch up on here over the weekend sometime.

I did notice that there was some Dad purporting to be the Frozen Monkey, but it couldn't have been him since he wasn't wearing official garb. :rotfl2:

Also I think Zerfs is running away with the title of "Most DisDads Met". :thumbsup2

Quick update:

Got back from the world on 11/27 - Wife had a stroke on 11/28 sometime in the morning. These are not abnormal for us but her losing 7 years of memories is. We've been getting things back in order since then while she recovers. So far she has recovered her memories up to about a year ago and is still working on this last year. She still doesn't remember our trip to Disney. No, that doesn't mean I get a free trip back so I can remind her.

Anyway, my 16gb memory card started eating pics on my first day so I had to swap to my old 8GB card and play it safe. Ultimately I left with 533 pictures total, 63 made it out of lightroom. 95% of them are pics of princesses (my daughter getting autographs with them) with a few artsy fartsy shots mixed in.

Since I'm not the kind of guy who likes to beat around the bush, here's my best shot, I think, ever:

You should see it on a monitor blown up to it's full 4000x3200 resolution. Pah-retty!

I still have 23 pictures to finish editing and upload but the link to the gallery is here. FYI: I kept the dream alive and watched other people do ToT over and over. Those people are suckers. More power to them. :)

Now I'm off to bed because we have two parades in the morning that my Young Marines are marching in. Go-go parade weather (20s and breezy).

I'm so sorry to hear this... I hope she gets her memory back soon. I will be keeping you guys in my prayers.

I think that the Cast members could have done even more. I'm glad somebody took charge and rectified the situation for your family.

Really sorry to hear about your wife. Hope that things go well and she regains all of her memory.

That's an incredible picture. I'm like a previous poster; would pay for that shot.

Hi Guys. I signed on to the club a couple years ago, but due to time constraints Ive been away from the boards and The World for too long...sorry. I thought when my son went off to college 2 yrs ago i would have a bit more time, but being a single dad home alone with a teenage daughter has proven more of a challenge than I expected:confused3:scared1:(brings back memories of the show "8 Simple rules for dating my Daughter). Sometimes I think I should have named her Bridget.

I'm in the process of trying to catch up on old posts and planning a trip to WDW:woohoo: this upcoming summer.
