We just did our first SP trip a couple weeks ago. We did an East Coast roadtrip from MA to Bethleham, PA (for the Crayola Factory in Easton), then down to DC for a couple days, and then down to Myrtle Beach. On the way back we hit SP for a day. I loved the huge Count structure that dumps a ton of water on you every couple of minutes.

Wow! Your were all over us and our family! We live in Easton; our Navy son is stationed at Joint Base Andrews in MD (just outside of DC); and, our daughter's in-laws live in Calabash, NC, just north of Myrtle Beach! Too bad I didn't know you were in Easton. We could have had a DIS Meet!

trying ONE MORE TIME... if there's just a red X again, can I delete the post?

(I think the trouble is Flickr won't let me resize the image? :confused3)

The preview worked, but i used the "copy BBCode" instead of the URL. How/why would this matter?

technically, it doesn't, 'cause hopefully you all can see Baby Girl!!
Cathryn Joyce.

(After 4 grandsons, my folks are ready for baby girl)

Congratulations Mom and Dad! She's a real cutey! :thumbsup2

Anybody else put their kid on the bus to Kindergarten for the first time today? Rough morning for me and the wife.:sad1:

We started 1st and 3rd grade this year two weeks ago. I still watch out the window every morning until they get on the bus, and then I leave for work.

I promised her I would drive to school to see her get off the bus there. (I know that seems a bit overboard, but tons of other parents did the same thing). I thought she'd be excited to see me but I just got a little wave as she followed her line in to school. It's good that she didn't run away from her teachers to see me- I guess she's doing better today than I am. Either that or she's entering the teen years early and has already learned how to ignore me.:confused3

daaaaaaad, your so embarrassing. :lmao: now you just got to stop her from driving off with some goofball in a camaro with a bolt in his nose and smokin a cigarette with a love wagon bumper sticker on the rear bumper.:lmao::lmao:

Sorry to hear about your tough morning.. my wife had a bit of a tough day when her first "little man" got on the bus...

Scary...

That's why we are glad we have our Disney Vacation Club to "slow things down" and enjoy the boys from time to time.. before they are grown..

that dont help, now you got me thinking im going into my 12th year of a 48 year dvc contract. :lmao: thanks coach!:lmao:

I'm sure there is a fairly lengthy paper trail from the WDW corporation that could help you fill in the blanks.:scared1:

i just figured out that she will be 18 in feb 2011 and this decembers trip will be her 24th trip. :scared1: and shes pouting because after june of 2011 trip, she probley wont be going with us for awhile.:lmao: i guess some birds just need to be kicked out of the nest!:lmao:

ive been reading in other places that kodak has pulled out of the imagination (figment) attraction at epcot!!! they have put up walls at the end of the ride and the kodak name is gone. i was reading that kodak has been a spon. for disney since 1953. would be a shame to loss them.

That Easton/Bethleham area was really cool. When we got to the hotel the streets behind the hotel were closed off for a music festival. It was late so DW and the kids went to bed and I venture out to the brewery:goodvibes. The next day there were tons of people wearing Eagles shirts, and someone mentioned that they have their training camp at Lehigh. We were thinking of heading back for a long weekend in the fall to check out Dorney Park.

Anyone else excited for the season premier of Sons of Anarchy tonite? If you have not seen it, its a great "guy" show about a motorcycle club in northern CA (Hells Angles types).

Well, Kathy Werling from the DIS went to the park on August 26th and there indeed is a walled off portion, but seems that Kodak is still given advertising. Here is her writeup:

Kodak sponsorship

What a night.
I'm about to finally head up to bed.

Both kids were home today with a nasty barking cough. Squeaker was clearly getting better by the end of the day. The Bug, not so much. By late afternoon, the barking cough was being accompanied by her old nemesis the strider. We gave her her prednisone, and an albuterol breathing treatment, but she kept getting worse. So while I got dinner together for Squeaker, DW too The Bug to the Urgent Care/ER (it's a branch of the major children's hospital).

They were at the ER from about 7 p.m. until 11:30 p.m. (and they should have been there until midnight, but that's another story). They got into an exam room and an initial assessment right away, but it took FOREVER for the doc to finally come around (yep - September 7 - the newbies have just started a new semester). They did another albuterol treatment, and she didn't improve significantly (we could've told them that, but then, we've been dealing with these issues with the Bug since she was a baby). So around 10 p.m., they finally got around to giving her the racemic epinephrine treatment (which we knew when we brought her in was what she needed). They're SUPPOSED to keep her for observation for two hours after that treatment, but THEY didn't know that, and the doc was busy, so they went ahead and released the Bug at 11:30 p.m.

I guess I should be glad that this is the first time we've had to deal with this (at least at this severity level) in a couple of years. And that we're dealing with it now, and not three and a half weeks from now. When the Bug was a baby, she got croup and needed these treatments about every five weeks for a year and a half. I know I need to get some sleep, but I'm still kinda wired from the whole evening.

Dave hit it right: MusikFest in Bethlehem and the Eagles are at Lehigh every summer. Bethlehem also has Celtic Fest and Allentown has the Great Allentown Fair. Personally, I avoid them all like the plague! Too crowded anymore. I actually avoid the Eagles 'cause I'm a Giants fan. :lmao:
How old are your kids? I also avoid Dorney but we spent a day at Knoebel's last week and it was great, especially for little kids. That park is about 2 1/4 hours NW of Easton near Bloomsburg. Easton's claim to fame is still Larry Holmes. You can sometimes see him at his restaurant downtown. And, the Lehigh Valley has the Phillies AAA team, the IronPigs. We were at their finale Monday afternoon. They don't usually do very well but the stadium is great and they have the highest attendance of any minor league BB team in the country. Funny thing: Since we live in Easton, I'm usually trying to get away from here during vacations and you're trying to come here! :rotfl:

Uggg.. Taking the kids to the ER is always a heck of a night. We've had to take DD twice, although none since DS was born. Once when she was around 1 but had a fever over 103°. We were swimming in lake earlier that day and were worried she picked up some nasty virus or something. The nurse gave her Motrin, and by the time the Doc came in, she was jumping around on the bed. The other time she cut herself and we couldn't get the bleeding to stop. We got there around 7, and by the time the doc came it, it was close to 10. :sad2: Luckily, she had just fallen asleep, so the doc could apply the medical super glue without waking her.

Hoping for a speedy recovery (for the kids and you). By the way - when/how you plan on telling the kids that you're going on vacation?
