So I'm storming around the compound this morning Ranting about something or other (short timer and the heat are getting to me:lmao:), when I walk into the security team office space and find them all in the back watching a movie (on their big flatscreen LCD TV:mad:--we have a bigscreen too, but not as nice)....

Find out it's some movie called "Kick ***"...well, that sets me off about them sitting around watching a kids movie while there's work to be done (Doggone E4 Mafia:rotfl2:)...

Just about the time I go full retard on them this purple haired chick starts just cutting loose with a Xenon Strobe Light Equipped pistol....just wasting bad guys left and right...:scared1:

So I spent the next 45 minutes watching the rest of the stupid movie and got further behind on what I was supposed to be doing:rolleyes1

If your kids ask to see this "Super Hero" movie...be advised, this is NOT a kids movie---by any stretch of the imagination.:cool2:

But did you like the movie? Yeah, definitely not for kids. Adapted from a very adult comic. Violence throughout the movie but it's kinda like a Tarantino flick in that it gets numbing after a while (like Inglorious Basterds, which by the way got robbed of an Oscar by Hurt Locker).

So I take it its a good watch then Fed?
my wife mentioned about wanting to see it, I haven't seen any trailers for it...good to know then!

woot...Pg 121 all mine!!!

Sadly, I have to say yes:rolleyes1

Just don't let the kids watch it...gratuitous violence...If I ever have a daughter, she gets trained like Hit Girl....

:lmao: started screamin and yellin till you see a magazinebeing unloaded than eveythings fine.:thumbsup2:lmao:

Fixed it for ya....:lmao::lmao:

They scattered when I came storming in....:rotfl2: But as usual, they didn't go far:mad::lmao:

Oh yeah man, I LOVED it...that was the problem...:lmao::lmao:

Yes, that was most definitely a hack job by the Oscars:mad::mad::mad:

Guys,

It is not too late to join the 1st annual DIS Dad's Pro Football Pick 'Em Tournament. This is much lower key that your typical fantasy football league. All you have to do each week is pick the winner of each game (including spread). It's free and takes about 5 minutes of your time. If you miss a week (work/vacation/etc), no worries, the lowest scoring week gets dropped. The winner gets bragging rights until next year.

Go to:

http://football.fantasysports.yahoo.com/pickem

Group ID# 29522
Password mouse

The games start on Thursday the 9th, so you need to join by then. There are 16 guys signed up already! Come join!

31 days 5 hrs. etc…. the luggage is down and clothes are starting to be put into piles. Who has time to worry about mowing and watering a lawn… besides the snow will be here soon enough to cover it up. First things first. Right? I think I need an intervention.

Nope, sounds just right in my humble opinion:thumbsup2:rotfl2:

Okay, it didn't work. I'm going to review the instructions, and edit this post later.

It's a sticky on this board named Fairy Godmailers. I was thinking we could call ours Fairy GodMalers but I realize it's kinda cheesy.

Yeah, because we never would want to have anything too cheesy associated with the DisDads :lmao:

You're right, an intervention is required. :scared1:
Where are your touring plans, where are the ADRs what about the entertainment schedules, and hidden mickey maps. Yeesh, so much to do, so little time. :rotfl2:
Does anyone have a spare spreadsheet we can loan Big_Disney_Fan? :surfweb:

Hey guys just got a postcard addressed to DD from Tinkerbelle provided by a very kind board member. She was thrilled! The idea behind this, for any who don't know, is to "pay it forward" by sending someone else's child(ren) a postcard then they would do the same for someone else. Sorry if this has been covered here (CRUD!) So I thought I might give my fellow DIS Dad's first crack at this. I will be leaving for WDW Sept. 8th and would attempt to get a card sent out the 9th or 10th. From what I understand mail is a little slow leaving the park so make sure there is enough time for it to get to you before scheduled departure if you have a trip coming up. First PM with names, address and preferred character is a winner!

We had that done for our kids before our Disney Cruise last spring. The kids thought it was so cool that Cinderella and Captain Jack would send them post cards before the trip. We were happy to do it for other kids in return for the kindness shown to us!

I like the whole concept, is there a thread that is just for that, or do you just find someone going before you randomly:confused3 We could probably do it here with the Dis Dads since someone always seems to be at WDW:cool1:

I did this years ago when it was known as the "pay it forward" thread. It was cool to see the kids when they got a postcard from a character. It was even more rewarding to send out the postcards when I was in the world.

I will be in WDW in October if anyone wants a post card sent to their kids. I will have to get the wife to write them, I don't want kids thinking that Mickey has the hand writing of a 3 year old.:rotfl2::rotfl2:

DW and I stopped in at Office Depot the other day to get my itinerary laminated. The guy at the printing counter greeted me by name and asked how long till my trip and how my iron t-shirts came out. My wife looked at me like I had three eyes and asked "Just how much stuff have you had printed for this trip?" I replied, "You mean here or all together?"

P.S. Page 122 OWNED!

I have heard others doing this. So, what do you get laminated? I take a print out of dining reservations with confirmation numbers. What else is included on the itinerary?

I would say "cute red X", but I think you've suffered enough already:lmao:

It's OK.....waay unrealistic (you wouldn't clear a building that size with anything short of two or three squads), but it's entertaining!:thumbsup2

You guys and the spreadsheets....man, I just can't do it:lmao:

i have a sheet of paper for each day. it will have am: the park we are going to. under that is the rest we have an adr at and the conf. number.... than i have pm: the park were going to and under that any adrs, partys, tour that we are doing in the pm. on the bottom right hand corner is the park hours for all the parks for that day. i put them in a plastic protector sleeve in a three ring binder and each morning i pull that day out and put it in my pocket. we (dd and i) have a "ride sheet" when ever we get back to the resort, we check off which rides we did and how many time. yes, i can tell you how many time i rode a ride on a trip from 5 years ago.:lmao: our record for the people mover is 21 times on a 10 day vacation.:lmao:

DW thinks I spend too much time planning our vacation. I'm not anywhere close.

My DW thinks I have gone over the deep end this year, I must admit she probably has a point. I don't do a sheet per day but do have a half page, color coded daily itinerary with ADR conf #'s, important phone #'s and park hours(including EMH's, parades and shows) on one side and a list of attractions by park on the other. I also made a custom journal for DD with questions about rides ridden, shows seen, characters met etc. It has a section for each park and spaces for placing pictures. I did this because while planning for our trip this year we tried to remember how many days we went to each park, what shows we missed etc. and we couldn't remember a lot of the details. I know it seems lke a lot of work to some but I have done desktop publishing and spreadsheets for years so it comes together pretty quickly. Of course that doesn't mean I didn't obsess over the details for months.

On top of all that I made custom t-shirts, window clings for the resort room and personalized tip envelopes. Oh and I made custom postcards as well. I bought this little instant photo printer for $18 the other day that prints 2" x 3" pics with a sticker back, we're gonna put them on the postcards for family.

Yeah, I may need to seek some help. :confused3
