Of course Elly managed to wrastle that gator into submission. By bedtime, the gator was dressed in a proper nightgown and nightcap and snoring along with the rest of the Clampetts.

They were in for a surprise the next morning, when the CM at the gate to the Magic Kingdom said they had to have a ticket for the gator.

"We pulled the kids outta school for this?!" they cried in disgust. Don suggested they go look at some other resorts to try pool-hopping instead.

But then they saw a brochure in the resort lobby for a place called Blizzard Beach. It sounded kinda strange, but fun. Snow and sand together? But wait, there's a skiing gator in the picture!!! They knew they must go there. "Gators MUST be allowed in if there's one in that fancy brochure", cried Elly-May.

Yeah - she wants a dog. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Oh boy, you went there didn't you:confused::confused:

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Thanks guys... always there for support. :rolleyes1

Or maybe I'm just still feeling bitter from last night! :lmao:

I gotta say, that series was great. I've never been more entertained watching my team lose in agonizing fashion.

Agree 100%! OK I got the better end of the outcome, but still a great series where I never felt like the Hawks had it in the bag.

I lucked out this year. She asked for clean dishes and a vacumed house. Done and Done!:thumbsup2
She also got a new HP Pavilion All-In-One PC. She bought it for herself, but I think it counts.

Thanks unclescrooge. I'll let DW know that dishes and vacuum are the standard fare for 9 years. :thumbsup2

To Don's amazement ,he was able to stake a claim to some black gold that came bubbling up after someone took a pop shot at the skiing gator. He then turned around and obtain season passes to Disney with his claim.

The problem was that the Blackhawks fan (a.k.a. Middlepat) was taking things too well. Maybe we weren't obnoxious enough. :confused3

I have a bit of a secret here. Chicago is not my first team. If this were the OILERS, things could have got nasty.

Canadians. They're just too NICE. :sad2::rotfl2:

And I've still got that "Badaba badaba badaba badaba" song stuck in my head.

Parade is tomorrow @ 10:30 just a couple of blocks from my office. I may have go dance with a certain light beer commercial.

Could prove useful in our DIS Dad's FF league. :thumbsup2

MAKE IT STOP!! :badpc: I keep craving Amstel Lights for some reason.

It's a world of laughter, a world of tears....

Here, try this:

One little spark
Of inspiration
Is at the heart, ha, ha
Of all creation
Right at the start
Of everything that's new
One little spark
Lights up for you

I'm going to take a crack at trying to put some events together for the Dec trip (I'm on vacation next week with not much to do).
Anyone with any other ideas please post them on the Dec thread so they can be added to the list. Hopefully we can have a vote on the list this Sun to find out what events we will do.
I posted a few ?'s on the thread to make it little easier to figure out times and location.

Visit the Dec. thread and maybe by the end of next week we can have some concrete events planned:confused3

Christopher when you were there did you notice any major stuff going on in Fantasyland yet, and did they have a new sign or other changes to the carousel:confused3

Most definitely.

Yes, the carousel name has officially changed - signage and all. Didn't get a pic of that though.

As far as the rest of it, it's definitely begun. The walls are up from Village Haus all the way over to the entrance to Toontown Fair, which is still there for now. At least it appeared to all be there. I didn't really go too far in, as it's never been my favorite area.

Ariel's Grotto is gone. Ariel (with legs, vs. with a tail) and Eric have now taken up residence over in the old Adventureland Verandah location for a meet & greet.

The not-so-old Winnie the Pooh play area - gone. The tree was saved however, and moved over across closer to the WTP ride entrance. It's just one solid construction wall now on the entire northside of Fantasyland. But the walls are nicely painted in various locations, apparently close to or near where the new things will be - with a nice descriptive banner about each new location.

I knew you would be on top of this:thumbsup2 It will be interesting to see the finished product. The only thing my son likes in that whole area they are redoing is the Barnstormer, it looks alittle bleak that it will be open in Dec:mad:

Kids out of school for the summer tomorrow. Last couple of weeks have been he!! on wheels with all of the end of the year crap going on. However, one week from tonight, we'll be headed down Savannah way to spend the night, then on to the Happiest Place on Earth next Friday. Have an ADR at Le Cellier next Friday evening.

Also, getting pumped up for the World Cup to start tomorrow, even though I know very little about soccer. Then triathlon number 2 Saturday morning to get the weekend started off with a bang.

Actually, I said all of that stuff because I wanted to see our countdown timer in single digits. That is all.

End Chapter 1. Stay tuned for our next sphincter tightening episode of Don's Trip Report [cue John Boy and Billy's married man music].

Oh, and then Don had to calm down Granny who became enraged when she realized, first that Blizzard Beach had no rocking chairs, and second, someone had staked claim to her chair by putting a towel on it....

I don't really mind what color my son likes, but no one is painting my son's nails. Manicure, fine. Nail painting, nope. There is no reason for us to feminize young men and say that it is okay. I'm all about kids making their own choices to a certain extent, but at some point, a line has to be drawn between the sexes, and for me this is one of them.

I am sure OP is not a homophobe, and neither am I. For you to connect anti-gay with a cross gender practice that is not needed at that age, is absurd.

And to OP, I hate that show and will not watch it at all. I feel sorry for all of the kids on that show. They are missing out on the best part of their childhood due to overzealous parents who are trying to live vicariously through them IMO.

And since this one is going to the dumper real quick, I'll just say it now....

Carl,

Can yo believe that thread???????

When do boys get to be boys and play in the mud, catch lizards (which gives my wife a heart attack), destroy block castles, you know, do all the things boys do...

I dare not post on that thread lest I find myself sent to the principal's office again, but NO ONE would go anywhere near my son's nails with polish....

I wouldn't get to them, DW would get there first:lmao::lmao:

My SIL loves that show, but as my brother says...there's a special place in He** for those parents.:sad2:

Edited to add:

Brother, you got brass cojones for jumping in that one:worship::worship:

I hope I'm not too late to crash the party, but I just found this thread. I normally stick to the Theme Park and Attractions board, but tonight I was feeling adventurous.

Well, my name is Brady (hence the Bunch nickname) and I'm a Disney dad of two little pirate wannabes. I'm an odd Disney fanatic in that I didn't grow up going to Disney (quite the opposite actually, grew up spending every summer at Astroworld) and didn't have a strong affinity for Mickey Mouse (grew up a Bugs Bunny man). It wasn't until I met my wife and we decided to take a Disneymoon. That was my first trip and I fell in love, head over heels.

Now I spend all my downtime pretty much planning fantasy Disney trips in my head. Our next trip will likely be 2012, but it may be next summer if I can convince my wife. She's a Disney fan, but not nearly as fanatic as myself. She probably thinks I'm crazy because I talk about stuff I hear on the podcasts or read on the forums every day. But I love talking Disney and I love reminiscing about previous trips.

Anyway, glad I found this thread. It's good to know there are other dads out there. I was beginning to think there were only a handful on the boards.

Welcome to the Asylum!!!!

Brady Bunch...:lmao::lmao:

No Blue Angel sightings yet, but two F-22 Raptors just buzzed my window, circled the airport twice and landed.
Never knew that when I took this job that location was one of the benefits. :thumbsup2
The Raptors were at the Joint Base Andrews show! Be watching for 6 Blue Jets to be cruising around today, probably in the morning. They seem to do PR stuff in the afternoons on Fridays.

"...where ever there's a screw-up...you'll find the Married MAAAN!"

Upon Arriving at Blizzard Beach Don and Crew are approached by a bunch of men in Armor.

"We are the Knights who say NI!" (gasp)

"We are the Clampet's who say Howdy."

"If you wish to pass with thy Gator...ye must bring us a Shrubary!"
