I hope I'm not too late to crash the party, but I just found this thread. I normally stick to the Theme Park and Attractions board, but tonight I was feeling adventurous.

Well, my name is Brady (hence the Bunch nickname) and I'm a Disney dad of two little pirate wannabes. I'm an odd Disney fanatic in that I didn't grow up going to Disney (quite the opposite actually, grew up spending every summer at Astroworld) and didn't have a strong affinity for Mickey Mouse (grew up a Bugs Bunny man). It wasn't until I met my wife and we decided to take a Disneymoon. That was my first trip and I fell in love, head over heels.

Now I spend all my downtime pretty much planning fantasy Disney trips in my head. Our next trip will likely be 2012, but it may be next summer if I can convince my wife. She's a Disney fan, but not nearly as fanatic as myself. She probably thinks I'm crazy because I talk about stuff I hear on the podcasts or read on the forums every day. But I love talking Disney and I love reminiscing about previous trips.

Anyway, glad I found this thread. It's good to know there are other dads out there. I was beginning to think there were only a handful on the boards.

The Raptors were at the Joint Base Andrews show! Be watching for 6 Blue Jets to be cruising around today, probably in the morning. They seem to do PR stuff in the afternoons on Fridays.

I did see them a little bit in the afternoon. The wind shifted, so they were taking off to the south, further away from my building. I did get to catch a little of their practice runs. The show site downtown is about 8 miles from us, so I couldn't see too much. They said on the news that they will be practicing today from 11-1. I see another midday walk in my future.

... Don thought to himself, self. to TR or not to TR that is the question!

But the DISDads rose as one and DEMANDED a TR from the erstwhile Don. For only by sharing his tribulations with the group, could Don teach others to avoid his awful fate.

So Don sat down to his computer and began to let his thoughts flow freely...... but alas, his fingers could not type. He began to remember a saying he'd learned years before in school when those feelings of angst would wash over his creative processes, "I think I can, I think I can, I think I can..."

Finally, Don channeled his inner Ty Webb. See the TR, be the TR. See the TR, be the TR.

It was around noon when Don and his son Jethro, his daughter Elly May, and with Granny in her rocking chair in back, loaded up the truck and left his backwoods Ozark home, bound for Walt Disney World.

Upon their arrival at their resort they quickly headed to the cement pond to wash up a bit and relax before their first scheduled ADR, which was at the Wispering Canyon where Granny was upset with the vittles. "What no possum stew?"

But wait, someone (don) had to pee!

The evening ended on a bit of a downer note, as the family was politely asked to leave WCC, after Granny chased the server around the room with the giant fork she was provided after she dropped hers. No worries though, even though the dinner ended a bit low, as they left the restaurant and went outside, Granny jumped fer joy when she saw the Wilderness all around the Lodge. They'd surely have dinner for weeks with the critters they could find in there, she thought.

That night, Mr. Drysdale checked in to the room next to him along with the secretary, Ms. Hathaway. She waits paitently outside for Don, Granny, Elly-May, and especially Jethro to return...per Mr. Drysdale's orders. After waiting for 2 hour with Misquitos...Don, Granny, and Jethro show up...but where is Elly May???

In the lake they hear splashing and Elly shouting..."Come Here you ornary Critter."

Mr Drysdale's snoring kept Don and the rest of the clan awake all night long and Don told Mr Drysdale he was going to put all his money in another bank if that happened again because they wanted to be able to be well rested for their days in the parks!

Of course Elly managed to wrastle that gator into submission. By bedtime, the gator was dressed in a proper nightgown and nightcap and snoring along with the rest of the Clampetts.

They were in for a surprise the next morning, when the CM at the gate to the Magic Kingdom said they had to have a ticket for the gator.

"We pulled the kids outta school for this?!" they cried in disgust. Don suggested they go look at some other resorts to try pool-hopping instead.

But then they saw a brochure in the resort lobby for a place called Blizzard Beach. It sounded kinda strange, but fun. Snow and sand together? But wait, there's a skiing gator in the picture!!! They knew they must go there. "Gators MUST be allowed in if there's one in that fancy brochure", cried Elly-May.

To Don's amazement ,he was able to stake a claim to some black gold that came bubbling up after someone took a pop shot at the skiing gator. He then turned around and obtain season passes to Disney with his claim.

Oh, and then Don had to calm down Granny who became enraged when she realized, first that Blizzard Beach had no rocking chairs, and second, someone had staked claim to her chair by putting a towel on it....

"...where ever there's a screw-up...you'll find the Married MAAAN!"

Upon Arriving at Blizzard Beach Don and Crew are approached by a bunch of men in Armor.

"We are the Knight who say NI!" (gasp)

"We are the Clampet's who say Howdy."

"If you wish to pass with thy Gator...ye must bring us a Shrubary!"

hey dads, i just thought of this, we have a dis dad that works on an oil plateform. i think the last he was on he said he was transforing to western pa. anyone hear from him?

We had never eaten at a Krystal before and just wanted something quick. I would actually put their little chicken burgers up agains Chik fila's, pretty tastey. It was still light out so I was real worried about the locals, although the one guy who was wearing a white "wife beater" was either staining the deck today or had blood stains all over it. I'm guessing his trailer doesn't have a deck.

Are you referring to Chik Fil A's chicken minis on the breakfast menu. Because I'm not sure anything beats Chick Fil A's original chicken sandwich. IMHO!!!!

There is a Chik Fil A next to where I work, they give us coupons every once and a while for chicken sandwiches ( I have atleast a half dozen in my wallet right now) The nuggets are my all time favorite

Tried one today...I liked it...it didn't like me though.

I thought mine was a little spicier than Bojangle's or Wendy's.

I haven't noticed it on the menu, but the next time I go there I'll look for it.

What's a Bojangles

Bojangle's is a Chicken place in the South...kind of a KFC with a little kick. Love the Dirty Rice.

Also similar to a Popeye's...though I haven't seen one of those in years.
