I was one proud DISDAD...he loves to fish with me, so I'll enjoy it while it lasts!

AWESOMEEEEEE!!!!!!

I'm not too sure how Garreth felt about though.. the look on his face is so funny! :lmao:

Duh - carry on. What else are we going eat on the flight? :lmao:
I think you can carry it on. We carried on cheese, pepperoni, and a loaf of bread! popcorn::popcorn::

Now that is a FISH!!!! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Alright dad's, putting the final touches on not one, but TWO TR's, will hopefully start posting by the end of this week. Does anyone have any tips, tricks, cheats, etc. that they want to share with a rookie?

1) Don't take a year (or 11 months) to finish.. unless you want to get teased. :rolleyes1:rolleyes1
2) Put at least 1 line inbetween pics. It makes them easier to look at.
3) Save the 2nd post for a table of contents. That way if someone gets behind or starts late, they can use your TOC (links are even better!) to catch up. EXAMPLE
4) Have fun with it!

I'm sure some other Dads will give you some tips!!! Oh yea, if you let your TR sit vacant for too long, look out for these guys--> pirate:pirate:pirate::smokin::smokin: pirate:pirate:pirate: :cool2::cool2:

You're flying Midwest... you'll have cookies of course. You don't really want Evan yakking on the plane do you?
In about 26 minutes it won't be Midwest anymore. The company that owns them and Frontier are announcing the new name for the combined airline today at noon CT.
And I don't have to clean the plane - so he can do whatever he wants. :thumbsup2

While that might be true... getting to be around or near such an aroma for however long might not make your flight very pleasant for your wife. Wasn't it she who doesn't do yak very well... Sure you can always give a full bag to the flight attendant to deal with, but what if he doesn't make it into the bag in time? :confused3

I speak from experience oh yak attack friend. My Matthew apparently wasn't feeling too well the last time we flew home from CA (last year). Apparently not, since as we were about to touch down he started to complain about it saying he needed to go to bathroom. Of course that's not going to happen, so we looked for the bag in the seatback pocktet. All 3 seats were empty... I'm not sure if they just forgot to refill them or the previous passengers took them as souvenirs or what ("look Doris, these would be great lunch bags") but they weren't here. My DW was across the aisle with our DD and handed me the bag from her seat pocket and wham, before I could get it open, there he went. All over the floor. Thankfully he didn't yak much, but it was there. And we had to smell it until that darn seatbelt sign went off and I could get him to the lav, for round two. And oh yeah, thankfully that was the one time we decided the back of the plane might be the place to sit (normally we're mid to front folks), so getting to the lav wasn't difficult. But still. Yuck. His backpack (under the seat in front of him) never did quite smell the same again. :lmao: Needless to say it went bye-bye once we got home.

Ummm... Hmmmm... Let's see... DON'T PROCRASTINATE! HAHA! Otherwise... what Tim said is good :thumbsup2

Here I am in my office.

Personally I hate putting on clothes that haven't been washed yet, especially t-shirts (way too stiff & scratchy for my liking), so I can't wait to get home and wash it up and start wearing it. But I had to get a pic so you could at least see it on and not just hanging on the back of my door.

Very nice. So did your order just slip through the cracks or have you guys found a company that will do it without a problem?

thats it I got to get mine. Anything on back?

That hasn't really been determined. Christian (chillcoupons) got his as well. Personally I think ours went through because of a lack the web address on it, but I can't say that definitively. But no matter, I'll wear it and enjoy it. MiJo did end up getting quite a good deal from a different vendor after multiple attempts. I'm sure he'll post pics of his when his arrives as well.

Hey Fed that is great. I remember when Michael my oldest caught his first fish. Here is the picture. Look way down by the tackle box and you can see the fish.:lmao: This was a few years back but certainly one of my proudest moments. I still get a tear in my eye when I see this picture.

Many years have past since that first fishing trip. Michael and I have gone on many fishing adventures since then but there is something about that first fishing trip that I will never forget. Here is a picture of our latest fishing trip. This is offically Michaels biggest fish. Same kid just a bigger fish.

I have another first fishing trip with Ethan coming up in a few weeks. I am really looking forward to that. He has been watching Mick and I for a couple years now. Seeing the pictures and hearing about the adventures and he is ready to go. Then in a few years I get to do it all over again with Gabe.

I can honestly say I love being a father! I can not understand these dads (and I use that term loosely) that don't spend time with their kids. Makes no sense.

You know, I don't get it either......I stay so busy sometimes, but I ALWAYS leave time for him during the day--especially since I "go away" for those lengths of time....thank goodness the next is the last...

And nice fishies by the way:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Now that is awesome Kevin. That fish in the 2nd pic is amazing compared to his size. I love it. And then you made me go back and look for pics of my own first fishing trip with my sons. Unfortunately I don't have pics on my computer, I'll have to wait til I get home to look at the photo albums, since we weren't doing digital yet back then. But I do remember how proud Harrison was was when he first reeled it in! Both boys love to go fishing in our neighborhood ponds (there are 7 of them), plus out to the nearby lake and river. Time to get back out there. Ugh - there are just so many things to do - and this darn work just keeps getting in the way... :rotfl2:

LOVE the shirt! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2 Wonder if I could get one in less than 13 days... how long did yours take?
