WELCOME NEW DADS!! i work for a family owned bus. they buy me a new car evey 3 years, gas, insurance and pay our healthcare for my family. we get reviewed everyday. i thank them every chance i get. dw is a senior hr. blah blah blah for an insurance co. they do reviews once a year. it use to be december. they moved it to july so now we can go back to wdw in december.

We have quarterly reviews. They are a very painful experience. They are asking questions during the review like "Do you feel you live a balanced life?", "What book are you currently reading?".

Geez, I haven't been to the site in about a week and so much has happened! Thread 2 is closed and we're already up to 18 pages on on Thread 3! Initially I thought I had some catching-up to do, but quickly realized that there were a whole lot of posts that were attempts to get the last word in!

Well, congratulations Don on getting both the last word in on the old and first in the new. Thanks, also, for setting up the member list and links of interest - those are really great.

So I'm glad to be in the new digs - off to go snoop around!

Oh snap, my subtle plan is working. I ordered the DVC DVD a few weeks ago, and swapped it with the Vacation Planning DVD (that my oldest watches every day). My wife caught the trickery right away, but, an hour later, she's now on the phone with DVC!!!!!

Nice work I've got mine crossed for you! That reminds me... I have tried to order the DVC video on 3 separate occasions on the Disney site.. and still no DVD! Wonder if my DW has been intercepting them...

It is worth it. I smoked for 22 years and gave it up for Christmas (a present for the kids) three years ago. It was hard but worth it. Plus you get DVC out of the deal. Good luck!

Too dang many. It's even better when two DDs (7,5) get to press their talking button over and over again. The Chipmunk girl that both of them received says "Oh, it's beautiful". So, after hearing it a few dozen times, I say to DW, "how about I shove it up their butt so when they fart, you'll hear 'it's beautiful'". Both children heard it - and repeated it - - waiting to hear from school anyday.

Growing up on a farm, we had an old Case DC-4 tractor from the mid 1940's. My dad would take it into town (Dale, population about 1500) to the local tractor pull every summer. It only had like 40 horsepower, but it was geared so low that it was a beast! Oh, good times, good times.

Definitely worth it... In March it will be 2 years since I quit... and I smoked for 20 years. Best choice I ever made!

I can relate to that. My son is in Pre-K and I've had my share of stories from his teacher, luckly she has 2 sons and is understanding. He has repeated a couple of winning statements, but the worst was on the playground when a few of the kids were pushing each other and he went Chuck Norris on them (he's been taking Karate since he turned 2 and is a blue belt)

Ok, so I'm not going back the 3 pages to find the multiple posts I want to quote from - but here's my little "review rant" too... - we just had ours last week 1) should have been 5 weeks ago; 2) performance really doesn't matter at all - like others have said, I basically need to walk on the water AND raise someone from the dead in order to get anything more than a 1/2 cost of living adjustment this year - absolutely stinks. 3) the reviewer is no longer my boss but decided he wanted to still be the one to do it for whatever reason... whatever - but stupid in my opinion; 4) the system this year was completely changed to an online system where you enter your goals and then report the progress on them throughout the year - but when it came time to actually prepare for the reviews - all of the data in the system was gone, companywide - can you say idiotic?!? 5)the bonuses this year were taken away completely across the board - even though many of us truly deserved them... personally I secured over $18M in new lending for our books and my region was profitable... but it just wasn't good enough apparently. Never mind that someone else did a worse job, got a better review and a promotion.
