We will be there the 4th through the 11th.

:cool1: On page 1 click on the Dis Dads in Dec Trip, and be added to the list of Dads that will be there. We are trying to arrange some Dis Dad activites, Barry will add your info to the main list.:woohoo:

It was about 53 when we arrived. Down to about 45 this evening. Not super warm by FL standards, but definitely warmer than home!

Wow! I can't believe FL isn't much warmer than AR was today. :scared1: I hope it keeps warming up for ya. :thumbsup2

Are you going to start a TR thread, or do you plan to hijack DisDadsIII again? :lmao::lmao::lmao:

That's alot better then a few days ago! It might hit in the 40's here in the middle of the week. Hopefully it gets a little warmer down there for you!

So here's a link to the LIVE thread I just began... I will NOT hijack this thread again - so if you want to see our exploits here in Florida, you'll have to go to the other thread this time around :)

stopher's LIVE "Triple Whammy" Report - THV/AKV/VWL

I'll try to update it again tomorrow night. later dudes.

:worship::worship::worship:

I can't imagine doing a Live report. You have quite a way with words (and pics) too.

DD(4) got Simon today after I took her to the Doctor! :thumbsup2

Nice score! My son went for lunch with grandpa today, both got a Happy Meal, both got the girl chipmunk with glasses. Any idea on how many different ones in this set:confused3

Thanks for the welcome! A quick intro, Myself ,54 (yikes that looks bad when you put it on paper). My wife 46 and daughters 14 and 12. Prefer land/sea Disney Cruises. When I showed my girls the intro on the Disney Dads thread they just read it in shock. I think they thought I was the only Disney crazy. As a matter of fact I did too. Glad to be here!

PS Any other veterans or active duty guys on thread ( besides Emma's Dad)

Welcome! US Navy, 1971-1975, RM3. I was a CW operator at NavCommSta Guam for 3 years. Our younger son is currently a Navy AO2 stationed at Andrews AFB in MD. His command has just recommended him for a tour with the Blue Angels. He's really hoping he gets it but he knows the competition will be tough. "Fed" is our active guy on this thread although he is home now.

joining up! Next WDW vacations are Sept. and Dec. 2010

Welcome, Baloo!

Hey, I have a doctor's appointment Thursday to have my knees evaluated for surgery. Maybe I'll get Alvin! :lmao:

That would great for your son, you must be proud. I have a neice who graduated from the Naval Academy a few years back. She is now a LT JG going to school after pirate hunting off of Somalia. One nephew in the Marines and one Air force ROTC scheduled for primary flight school this spring in Pensacola. My daughters are still too young to think about this but I would steer them from the military, just me being Dad again.

I'm going to guess Canada! :lmao:

:thumbsup2 I keep threatening to look for jobs around Orlando when I finish school next December. But, DW says she doesn't want to live a 'plane ride' away from her parents. :guilty:

That's awesome! I'm guessing 2nd star to the right? :rotfl2::rotfl2:

poop!!! welcome back. good luck with the teaching to dw!!!

My wife is finishing up her degree in accounting in the next couple of months, her current employer has a small satellite office in Orlando, we're considering a move as well. I used to work in Melbourne and still have some contacts in the area, but with that CPA money she'll be bringing in, I might semi-retire and try and land a job at Disney. A pipe dream of course, but it's nice to dream, unfortunately, the fact that we'll never sell our house brings us back to reality.

We've been talking about the possibility the last couple of years, and we finally decided that we're ready to try and make it happen - life's too short.

We're not sure on location yet, we want to see what the job opportunities are for her and scout several locations that we think we'd like within about a 3 hour radius of Orlando.

I don't know about you guys, but every year I get less tolerant of this winter weather!

a three hour radius will put you in West Palm Beach (South), Melbourne/Daytona (east), Tampa/St. Pete. (west), and I'm not sure how far north. I liked living in Melbourne, it was quiet and laid back, but wasn't a lot of fun for a mid-twenty-something, I ended up in Orlando or down in Miami on the weekends. My sister lived near Tampa, and had the same complaint, 'nothing to do'. The economy here right now is horrid, so plan carefully, and if you need an architect, (clears throat), let me know. LoL.

HAHA! oh yeah!

I don't think teaching in Neverland would be a good gig, those kids seem to have some pretty big ADD issues.

My son is into the toys in the Happy Meal. Right now they are giving Alvin and the Chipmunks, everytime we drive past a Micky D's he wants a Happy Meal:lmao:

I'll be avoiding McD like the plague until the promotion passes. I'm still stuck with hearing King Julian sing "I like to move it" every time the van hits a bump because DS insists that he is one of his "van toys".

Yeah, the economy is definitely the x-factor in how long the job search will take. The 2011 school year would be ideal, but we'll just wait and see how it all shakes out.

If they ever pay teachers what they're really worth, we'll hopefully need an architect!

I was in the Army.

I am coaching my sons flag football team this winter and the team names are colleges. I told him the choice was his as far as what college he wanted to have as our name. He chose......The Black Knights or West Point! What a great kid.

Hey Stopher, you know the warm up (and some rain) is coming...

I don't mind the cold so much, but I have my WDW Trip starting next Friday and I'd like to be a "little" comfy:rotfl:

I hate it when I get a Great performance review on a "lean" year. :sad2:

You did a great job Nate...you get a 4...and nothing else. :lmao:

Getting a 4 is the best you can do...have to walk on water to a 5.

Guess they hand out 4's like candy when they don't have to pay you for it.

Watch this year...Nate you did good...but you only get a 3 because we've noticed you spend allot of time on the DIS Boards. :rotfl2:

It's even more fun writing them when you know it won't mean anything as far as their pay. We're on the same ranking method (5 reserved for "the chosen one"). I spent 3 weeks honestly ranking each member of my team (23 people) according to where they fall on about 30 reports and HR grading scales only to be told "you have too many people at 4's, make some of them 3's and 2's to balance it out.".

Sounds like the same system we have here. I like it when I see the review... for areas of improvement... nothing is in there... yet I still only get a 4? If I'm doing a great job, and there is nothing more I can improve on, why is my performance still only a 4? I could save the company $10 mil and would still get a 4 :confused3
I'm with you, Nate... I just don't get it.
