Second day back at work since before Thanksgiving, and it sucks:lmao::lmao:(I know, I know, you all feel sorry for me, right?:rotfl:)

Anyway, I'm now 17 days away from checking in to POR---gotta' love being back three weeks before going on another week vacation:rotfl2::rotfl2:---Use or Lose Leave time, and I'm gonna' use it, not lose it!!!

Captain Oblivious---I grew up in Charleston, SC (Actually, Mount Pleasant, just across the River)---let me know when you're going and I'll see what's going on that would be cool to do!:thumbsup2

My MIL in Florida has been complaining about the cold and how she had to bundle up to go to work. This is a lady that has lived in Wisconsin or Minnesota almost her entire life. After 18 months in Fl, she's already complaining about weather in the 50s. Sheeesh.

:rotfl: Yeah, I find it funny anytime we're there in winter watching the locals react to temps in the low 60's or mid 50's and say how cold it is! Please, give me a break. It's only -5 here today with the wind chill, which certainly isn't the lowest we've ever experienced. Sure you layer, but you deal with it. My favorite story to tell is when we lived in Michigan, the winter my middle boy was born, it got down to -35 one day. On the same day it was 65 in So. Cal where we're originally from. We just marveled at the 100 degree difference that day!

The coldest I've ever experienced though was on a trip to St. Paul, MN (in January no less - who takes business trips to St. Paul in January?!?!? - can you say dumb?? by my boss sent me anyway) where it was down to -48. THAT was cold....but what did I do - went to see the ice palace anyway! It was awesome. But the next morning when I was supposed to fly home the planes were grounded til it could "warm up" a bit. Something about not being able to de-ice the planes since the de-icer had frozen. :rotfl2: I ended up sitting in the airport for like 4 hours so it could "warm up".

Here I am at the palace at the Winter Carnival with my co-worker/co-traveler.

What are your dates exactly Fed? We'll be there from the 11th - the 21st, doing a triple whammy split stay, between THV, AKV & VWL. It appears we'll just miss each other though... Have a great trip!

I just had to comment... I've never seen anyone with 4 tickers in there signature before... all within the year! :rotfl2: That's awesome! :woohoo:

I have been away for a few days trying to get back into the swing of things with work and I have to agree with all of you work sucks.

Welcome to all the new dads, it looks like we are only a couple of pages away from the new thread.:thumbsup2 Hope we dont lose any dads in the transition:lmao:

Christopher, looks like we will be just missing each other as well.

Fed, looks like we will be at POR at the same time, we will be going to see the piano man one night maybe we can meet up to say hi or maybe have a cold one.

Between work and our upcoming trip things are pretty nuts. On top of this our Jeep wont start, turns over like crazy but just dosent fire. I thought maybe the gas lines has frozen but my neighbour pulled it to my inlaws garage and let it thaw out in there and thats not it.

Maybe its time for a new truck:thumbsup2

Anyone want to buy a Jeep!:lmao:

It better warm up down there, I ordered good weather I'm surprised it hasent shown up yet:rotfl2: Anything is better than -19 C ( -2 F) this morning :cold:

:yay::woohoo: (See ticker below)

There will be another trip this year as well...but I don't know what the dates are yet. That will be when I do DL again solo, bookending my annual end-of-year meetings at our corporate HQ in So. Cal. They typically don't set those dates until May or June, so even though I won't have 5 tickers by then, I still will have 5 different Disney trips this year. Keep working on your wife Don, for December and you can get 2 in this year!

My dates are the 22nd-29th of January...

Not sure if we're going to make it the whole time or not...:lmao::lmao:

Wait....yeah we will:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Daddy-o...sounds like a plan....

I certainly am working on her. Hehe... she's even asking me if she can help in the planning :thumbsup2 We stopped by our local Disney store this weekend to get our fix for the week... and even DW said she can't wait for April.

One week from tonight I'll be relaxing in our treehouse. I only hope the cold front moving through Florida moves OUT before we get there. It'll still be warmer than Indy (-3 when I left for the office this morning), but who wants to leave the cold to go to the cold in Florida? My DW is so happy thinking of being warm for 10 days...

the weather site is saying that the cool front will still be there until 14th or 15th, sorry, It only goes to show you, DW gives me a DCL cruise for my birthday, and I won't be able to get in the water!!! :headache::headache:

they said that it will "only" be in the 70's on castaway cay :scared1::scared1: have a safe trip and bring a jacket :cool1::cool1:

Alot of traffic in here this morning, It looks like I'm not the only one that has off on Tuesdays, unless some of you are at work:surfweb:

Some of us get to have the luxury of sitting at a nice warm desk with internet access all day long.... :woohoo:

Amen....except for the warm part:lmao:

It's funny... there are "old-timers" here at work that were talking about the weather here this week... they say they've never heard of lakes freezing over here (Virginia Beach) in January. I've only lived here since '93... and I've never experienced this kind of cold (highs in the upper 20's) in January here. So much for global warming.

Hey DisneyDaddy-O... would you guys turn off the Arctic spout already, eh? :rotfl2::rotfl2:

I put the request in.......I don't think anyone is listening!:lmao:

I'm sorry I don't think you fellas should be complaining about cold.....

My kids were sledding this weekend and it was -25C with the wind (-13F):cold:

Good thing we have heat in our igloos...:lmao::lmao: ......oh sorry....eh;)

It's not so much manual labor, It's the cold, 8hrs, 6dys, 48 weeks a year always cold. I'm a frozen food specialist and work in the freezer allday the icecream box is -30. Most new guys only last the frist week.:confused3

Interesting... I was just talking about the lakes freezing over here... one of our local TV stations put out this article:

Ice danger warnings for ponds, lakes

We get temps like you are getting now in Dec and it takes at least a good month before our lake freezes. Take that warning to heart that ice wont support anyone yet. Unfortunately, tragedy strikes every year on our lake. Just last week 3 people fell through the ice and did not make it. They went through in their car. It is just too early for that, by late jan the ice should hold a full sized truck without worry.

Keep your kids away from that ice.

That's tragic... I don't ever go near ice... since I had some near misses myself when young... in Ohio. I cringe even when I see the TV shows with the truckers going across the ice highways. Crazy :scared:
