Interesting... I was just talking about the lakes freezing over here... one of our local TV stations put out this article:

Ice danger warnings for ponds, lakes

Even us seasoned ice veterans in Wisconsin mess up once in a while. How's this for irony - while doing a segment on ice safety in 2007, a local TV van fell through the ice. Luckily no one was hurt, but the $250,000 van was a total loss.

I love the irony. I'm glad I read the story, though, because at first I thought that was your latest submission for the DIS Dads Party Bus!

I work at a TV station and I sure wouldn't enjoy that phonecall from my reporter or videographer trying to explain that one.

Sitting, warm. What's that? Man my job sucks, I move around like this:banana: allday to keep from freezing. Oh well 8yrs 9mths till retirement at the ripe age of 49:woohoo:

DW wants to move to Florida to escape the cold weather. It sounds like a terrific idea. However, I have 13 more years until I can retire at 48. Moving would be a great retirement gift.:confused3

I hear you! A great reward for starting young. I will be down there a few years before you, hopefully I can land a job in WDW and get all you guys in when you are ready.:rockband:

Hey - there's always ice fishing. What? Sitting on a giant sheet of ice in 5° weather and staring in to a small hole doesn't appeal to you?

Did I mention there is beer involved?

Ok, I give up.:confused3 What kind of work are dis dads in that allows them to retire at 48 or 49? Did I mistakenly wander in to the Dis Independently Wealthy thread?:rotfl2: What career path did I miss out on?

AirGoofy & Commando - Retiring that early would be great - good for you (uttered with jealousy through gritted teeth). I've got a good 30 yrs to go.
