What are funeral potatoes???

American Ketchup = ????

We call Ketchup either ketchup or tomato sauce.

Funeral potatoes are sometimes called Company potatoes, too. It's a side dish casserole made with hash browns, cream of mushroom or chicken soup, onions, sour cream and lots of cheese. It's really good. My mom would always make some to take to funeral luncheons, and I loved it because she would make some for us as well. She never just made them for us, we always had to wait for a funeral. Hence the name, funeral potatoes.

AAAh I see :goodvibes

How bad is It's Tough To Be A Bug? Everyone is wanting to me see it this time & I am still not sure I will like it. I do not care for bugs either & the thought of a spider or something like that coming at me gives me the heebie jeebies :scared1:

Keep your 3d glasses off or shut your eyes in parts - and keep your bum far away from the back of the seat and you'll be fine.

It is funny and very cute - and they do warn you when the worst of the bugs are coming - so you can lift your feet :goodvibes

I turn my back for a minute to do my civic duty and a new mega-thread appears! :faint:

May I join in please (if I can be excused reading all the pages that come before - I got to 6 but my hands are really cold now)

Well, I took DS20 to the airport this afternoon to go back to school in Atlanta. I may not see him for another 4 months, which is how long he was gone this last semester. He is in his second year of college. I get used to him being away, but then after he is home, I cry again every time he leaves. I am happy for him, because he loves it there, but I still cry every time.

DH and I went to a party tonight so I had a good time, but now that I am home I am thinking about how much I miss DS. And I can't even think about when my youngest DS leaves this coming fall.... trying not to think of that yet.

What school in Atlanta does he go to??

Lynn

:grouphug: I have a few years before my boys will go away, but I know it will be hard.

I almost ordered one of those as well. If this was not personalized I would return it for a smaller size.

I had a similar issue. I ordered the long sleve tee with the antena balls on it....it is HUGE. I have washed and dried it so many times with no improvement. Now I wear it when I am just tinkering around the house.

Thanks for the tips!

I've been through this 3 times and let me tell you it does get easier- but then they get married and it starts all over again! Once they get married and you start thinking about being a grandma you wonder where they're gonna live and if you'll ever see your grandchildren! So.... I guess it never really ends! The best thing I did to help with the situation is to get a job. That in itself was an adjustment for me because I had been a SAHM for 21 years!
Anyway- I totally understand how you are feeling right now! Feel free to pm me in those moments where you just don;t think you're gonna make it! I'll try my best to distract you through them!

I want your life!!! ::yes:: All that music! My dream!!!! Truely ..... it is!

First off, Karen, you can have this kind of life if it is really what you want! You have many musical skills that you could offer to others. Does your town have a Parks and Rec program? Maybe you cold start out by teaching something to children there. Or, go back to school and take a class or two in music over the summer. You could do this!!! :cool1:

Secondly, I bet there are things in YOUR life I would really like to have too! :flower:

Do you guys think AAA is worth joining for the room discounts we would save appr. 105 after sutracting the membership amount from the hotel savings. Moderate Hotel.
Our their any other advantages to Joining that can be used at WDW.

Jennifer, I have belonged to AAA since 1972 (when my parents gave me my first car) and find it to be VERY useful. Do you drive to WDW from Texas? If so, they cna plan a TripTok for you that is up to date with construction, etc. They can make motel reservations for you or you can make them yourself and receive a AAA discount on many of the best known chains. You can get discounts on car rentals with Hertz and Enterprise and Thrifty with them. Hertz is the AAA rental car company, but the other two give discounts here in our town too. AAA Disney packages and DCL packages have some of the best discounts too, if you use a TA to make those plans for you. Our AAA agents have even applied our AP rates to room only reservations inthe past. I make my own plans usually, but three times I have had assistance from them because they were able to get things for us that I was unable to get. Plus they can save you time and their services are free as part of your membership.

They also have discounts on everyday thinigs like car repairs at certified repair facilities, historic site admissions, Amazon.com, Casual Corner, etc.

Not all their discounts are Disney oriented so you ought to go to their website and see if it is worth it to you.

Ellen, I know just how you feel. Our DD19 is in her second year of college too. One benefit is that she is only one hour away. But other than taking her fall break with her sister and me at WDW this year she did not come home from August until Christmas. We take her back next weekend and it is likely that she will not be home until May. Our older DD is 27 and it was heartwrenching then too. I think you begin to make a different life for yourself after the last one moves on to college. At least, that is what we seem to have done here. I hope it gets better for you too. :goodvibes

The kids choir teacher at our church thinks my 4 YO son has a musical gift. (He picks up rhythms and pitch very quickly for his age.) What kind of instrument would you recomend for lessons for a preschooler?

I always suggest that children start out with piano because it has benefits for anything musical that they choose later on. Besides, their fine motor skills are not developed enough for many instruments, but for piano they are able to manipulate those little fingers well enough to play!

I used to teach music to little kids and I loved it! And then when my kids were in school I was involved with things likem the band boosters and my youngest was always in the musicals and I did tons of stuff for that. I guess it's just now dawning on me that this is something that I haven't really had in my life to any extent over the past 4 years since the youngest left! I'll just have to see what I can do to change that now won't I????

I do have a great life and I feel very blessed too! Thanks for the reminder!

yup! I am betting that with a little exploration you will find something in your area that will allow you to get back into music. Join a community band or choir, volunteer at a school to help the music teacher (I NEVER HAD A ROOM MOM).

No we wont be driving. I tried to go to their site to see what car repair sites they consider approvedandcould not find any.
We dont need the towing part as we have road sode assistance on our cell phones.
Not sure I would really trust them to book my trip as they almost cost Denice her trip by not sending in her money on time.
Do you know howmuch they sale park tickets for? I could not find them on their site andwe are thinking of using ticketmania withthe mousesavers newsletter discount.

When I need something other than our APs I use Ticketmania through Mousesavers because their prices are cheaper than the AAA discounted tickets. So, maybe AAA is not for you. However, if that is the only way you can get a discount on a room, it would be worth it, wouldn't it??

Ok I cheated & ordered a personalized Tink sweatshirt from Disney Shopping. I ordered a large thinking a med. might be to small. Well the tag says large, but it fits like an XXL! This sweatshirt is so cute too, do you think it will shrink any? I will wear it on this upcoming trip anyway, but it would look better if it wasn't so big.

I would have done the same thing thinking it would shrink in the dryer, there kids PJ shrink so much that when DS was 3/4 I was ordering him 8/10 and he has always been tiny but they shrunk so much he couldn't wear them.
