The DDA Trouble Free Zone Part 9

I SHOULD be packing and getting ready to go away for the weekend. Instead, I'm either reading or here! Maybe with limited computer access this weekend I can start a list of shirts for the family to wear. Dh is being a party pooper and insisting that he doesn't need any new shirts. Well, he is getting at least 3 (one for Laura's birthday, one for Chef Mickey's, and one for the Family Magic Tour).

I know this what not for me, but I wanted to give my $.02. Most schools in our area start after Labor day, but Ellie's school starts late Aug.

Michigan was working on legislation that would make it mandatory that all schools start after labor day. Don't know the status on it. They are working very hard on increasing tourism in the state. Spent millions on an ad campaign to be aired in neighboring states & Canada.

Just dropping in to say Hi, I have been reading a bit just not posting much here.
I have survived 4 days of MIL and another 89 to go
DH and I are already not talking!!! She puts a lot of stress on both of us when she is here!!!

Tarryn turned 12 yesterday, she had a fun day and spent the afternoon shopping with my SIL who took both her neices who both turned 12 this month(my sisters daughter) and spoilt them at the mall!!

Tomorrow we are going to Myrtle beach, I am taking my laptop but not sure if I will have access or not!

So Cindy told Tina that she never did it, but Samantha swears that Cindy did. And when Donna found out that Tricia told Jessica, all (*&^)^% broke loose. SO when Cathy let Marcia know what Cindy had said, Veronica was so very happy, but Diane couldn’t believe that Veronica had said all of that in front of Jordyn. Esther was behind the tree and over heard all of it, so of course she ran to tell Lisette who told Bailey the Cindy did it. Anna was just on the other side of the lockers and knew that Cindy didn’t do it because she herself and done it. Anna told Leslie how all of this was getting out of hand and Hannah agreed it was way out of control. Mary figured that if Rachael helped, because she was a better friend with Jessica, then Nina wouldn’t be mad at Cindy and they could all be friends.

Kristine -- congrats to Bill on his weight loss! BTW -- there are some pretty decent sugar free ice creams that are delicious and can be worked in, in moderation. I don't know if it's still around, but Breyers had a good one -- at least 7 years ago when I had gestational diabetes.

wow!!! If I had that many days to look forward to with my MIL I would definitely have the men in white coats coming here (either that or a wonderful case for temporary insanity on any charges levelled against me)

So you've all ruined me on turtles.

Several weeks ago my manager brought this in to show the staff. One of her neighbors stuck it in her door. I was and my other thought was EWWWWW.

The only reason I remembered, I had the missing turtle paper to scan was because I took a picture of this poor turtle, who was flooded. This guy is normally ten or more feet away from where the water ends. Well he went for a swim. He is there because one of the local Native American tribes names meant turtle.

I hope you enjoy that you have ruined turtles for me.

Vicki, we wear matching shirts every day of our trip...so the 5 of us will all be in one color. Maybe we can coordinate something with the group...

Bill has lost 3 pounds...amazing what laying off ice cream can do!!

So what are you going to wear for the wishes cruise? Or at least what color? I'd love to have everyone in the grand gathering match if people are interested. I know I'll be able to talk Stephanie into it as she is a pushover for anything Disney (especially Mickey). She'll just have to convince her sister too!

We live in Illinois, so the drive is to long by myself. I will keep checking, they should come down(I hope!) I want to leave on the 1st & that is the expensive flight, return is sitting at $114 pp.

I seriously considered the marathon but the cheapest flights were $700 round trip a month ago. There was no way that I could afford that. It would have cost me more to fly down than to stay on-site for the short time I was going to be there.

Sorry you r MIL is causing trouble. I hope the time goes fast fast fast. have a great time on your trip. Feel free to vet while you are gone, we all have MIL issues.

Anyone here near Denver? My good friend (her DD is our babysitter that is in college) just called and her 21 yr old DS, Doug, is in the ICU in Swedish Hospital in Denver. He had an embolic stroke last night! Doug and Lindsay (our babysitter) are camp counselors at a large Christian camp in Colorado for the summer. Their dad is at the Atlanta airport right now trying to get a flight out. Please pray for them. I'm really concerned and worried.

POTC is my AL TIME FAVORITE!!!!!! It has been for ever!!! I remember being a kid and asking over and over to ride it again and again.

So as a long time fan of POTC, what do you think of them adding the new characters to the attraction. There seem to be a lot of people upset about them ruining an already great attraction. I love POTC. It is probably one of my top 3 attractions. However, Walt was about innovation as well as traditions. I like the idea of maintaining the integrity of the attraction but adding some new characters. JMHO.
