Hi, everyone! I'm finally back, but I'm behind about 200 pages!!!!! I'm trying to catch up, but if there's something that is important for me to know, please PM me!

I missed you all so much, and didn't have an opportunity to check email while I was gone! Bummer for me. I hope things are well for everyone here!

Welcome back, Glynis! We missed you. I hope that you had a nice time with your parents!

So you've all ruined me on turtles. :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl:

Several weeks ago my manager brought this in to show the staff. One of her neighbors stuck it in her door. I was :rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: and my other thought was EWWWWW.

The only reason I remembered, I had the missing turtle paper to scan was because I took a picture of this poor turtle, who was flooded. This guy is normally ten or more feet away from where the water ends. Well he went for a swim. He is there because one of the local Native American tribes names meant turtle.

I hope you enjoy that you have ruined turtles for me.

Sending :grouphug: and :wizard: to all of you. Off to paint before I must go to work

You're not talking to yourself. It's just that conversations on the DDA are very ssssslllllloooooowwwww!

I'm sure that's also true, but quite often you can find me talking to myself. If the men in the white coats are sent after you, you can probably divert them my way to save yourself.

Thanks for the posts about Kingdom Keepers, by the way. I actually had the book out of the library a while ago and never even opened it. Then when you started talking about it recently, I put it on reserve again. It was definitely a page turner. We have Peter and the Starcatchers around here, too, so I will find that one soon. Next I'm starting The Memory Keeper's Daughter (anyone read that yet?) and then Two for the Dough (yes, I'm way out of date on that series :rotfl: ).

But right now, I really should get ready to leave for my parents' house!

 Hi, Anne Marie! Do you ever get the feeling that you are talking to yourself?

I just finished Kingdom Keepers (started it last night). It was very good, though a little creepy. I'm not sure I'll ever look at "It's A Small World" in the same way again.

Beth

Hi Beth!
:rotfl2: yea I guess with 4 posts in a row I was talking to myself!

I never heard of that book until i saw it here on the DDA..worth reading???

I definitely think it was worth reading. It is Young Adult, so it is a pretty quick read. Once I got past picking up all the little things that weren't right, I enjoyed it. It definitely kept me reading (though I always have a hard time putting a book down).

Mid August. The summer is flying by! When does school start there?

I know this what not for me, but I wanted to give my $.02. Most schools in our area start after Labor day, but Ellie's school starts late Aug.

Maybe I should have said the self-proclaimed Carousel Capital. We do have 6 old carousels around the area that are still maintained and will always be free. George Johnson (of Endicott-Johnson shoes) had them built in the 1920's for his employees with the stipulation that they always be free to the public.

Here is a little information: http://www.binghamtoncvb.com/carouselsmap.asp

Beth

That is cool.

Just what I need at work...another distraction...but have you seen this that someone posted on the TPAS board?
http://www.laughingplace.com/Games-GuessPic-New.asp

After you do one there is a link for a new pic. It's pretty cool. Some I've gotten quickly and others needed all 5 hints.

ETA: Paula and Glynis - don't miss it as there are a lot of DL only things that you'll know!

In case I forget to mention it later...We'll be gone through Wednesday. That's my official leaving the DDA board notification. ;)

Beth

Have a great and safe trip.

Hi all...

Vicki, we wear matching shirts every day of our trip...so the 5 of us will all be in one color. Maybe we can coordinate something with the group...

Bill has lost 3 pounds...amazing what laying off ice cream can do!!

We could get an engagement picture of Pal Mickey & Minnie and someone could come up with a design for that! I know we could probably get the women to wear it but I don't know about the boys and men! Well, Bill won't wear one anyway so I guess Chuck is the only one left. I can usually talk him into anything. :rotfl:

Boy that wedding thread has people sending out "Save the Date" announcements before the official announcements go out. Some of them were really cool. That's a neat idea.

Get on it girl!

That is per person one way :rolleyes1
We live in Illinois, so the drive is to long by myself. I will keep checking, they should come down(I hope!) I want to leave on the 1st & that is the expensive flight, return is sitting at $114 pp.

mommykds said:
Wow! $300 pp rt is alot!!! You'd think it would be less since it's January! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. Would driving be out of the possibility?
I am already "working" on my DH for summer 2007 & I mentioned that if $ was too tight (we have my DS's communion in the spring of 2007) that maybe we could drive & do the family suites or POR again. Fingers crossed!!!!

Welcome back

Well my Mom & girls are winging their way home! They got on their flight at 4am CST. They are supposed to arrive in Chicago at 4pm CST. They'll be back in the UP at 7:30 CST.

They got to ride the subway yesterday before they left. Also, got to spend time in downtown Tokyo. They both thought it was really cool.

YEAH!!!

No you are not to old and send me one also.
POTC is my AL TIME FAVORITE!!!!!! It has been for ever!!! I remember being a kid and asking over and over to ride it again and again.

I SHOULD be packing and getting ready to go away for the weekend. Instead, I'm either reading or here! Maybe with limited computer access this weekend I can start a list of shirts for the family to wear. Dh is being a party pooper and insisting that he doesn't need any new shirts. Well, he is getting at least 3 (one for Laura's birthday, one for Chef Mickey's, and one for the Family Magic Tour).

Beth

Beth GO PACK!!!!!
