I prefer the idea of getting a picture in the same place as the previous people because that ties us together. I'm definitely getting a picture by Goofy to "connect" me to June. What about Minnie's chair? Isn't there one of those at both places. I love the statue of Walt & Mickey but you can't get close enough to be with it (or can you?). Getting a different character each time would make it more difficult for the people going later on to find a character that hasn't been in a picture and I'd hate for them not to do it because it took too much time.

Can we do both? I want to sit by goofy but I love the idea of us all being in one picture with a character - I suppose it wouldn't matter if some of us happened to be with the same one - they often dress in different outfits anyway :goodvibes

I am so sick of the beep, beep, beep on the tv. Yes I know its raining and still gonna rain all night and tomorrow too. Yes I know that there is flooding, John had to pump out the crawl space under the house tonight when he got home. Plus he had trouble getting home as some of the roads in the development are now closed.

Enough with the beeping. :sad2:

:confused3 is that some kind of weather warning? Like the siren in Cincinatti?

When Kristin was 5 she wanted to get her ears pierced. Bob had a rule that our daughters could not have that procedure done until they could explain to him why they wanted two extra holes in their heads. Kristin's reason was that with pierced ears no one would think she was a boy (she had a Dutch boy haircut).

Well, that was good enough for him, so off we went to the mall to get her ears pierced. We had all told her it would hurt, but there was no changing her mind. They got the first earring in and she was off that chair in a flash! There was nothing I could do to convince her to come back and have the second one done. I told her I would be waiting outside the store entrance and she could come tell me her decision out there because I did not want everyone in the store to have to listen to her crying. I sat on the bench and watched Kathrin talk to Kristin quietly for about two minutes and then they went back in and had the other ear pierced.

When they came out I asked Kathrin what she said to Kristin. She replied, "I just told her she looked MORE like a boy with only one earring."

:rotfl: Oh bless :goodvibes

Well, that's been resolved. Tommy contacted me and has requested that he make his permanent home with Terry. He says that he loves me & my family for adopting him but thinks that Terry (as well as the seniors and the kids that keep looking for him at the center) needs him more than we do since we have Nicky. He was very convincing that Terry has a very loving home so I gave my blessing. Tommy will continue his travels but when his travelin' days are over, he will return to his home with Terry.

ETA: He did this behind Terry's back. She knew nothing about it until I approached her if she was interested in taking him in.

WOw - our first Pal Mickey Adoption - Vicki you really are too kind :goodvibes

Before I forget, we got Chuck's x-ray results. It shows degenerative arthritis in his spine & hands. Don't know exactly what that means (you nurses might). I did a little research on the internet and scared myself. We see the doctor again in 2 weeks so decided I better wait to talk to him before getting myself worked up. Reminder to self: Vicki try not to worry about things before you know the details. It just ruins today. The prednisone is helping but we think he needs to split it & take half at night and half in the morning (instead of all in the morning). The doctor told us he could do that if he needed to. Chuck wanted to give it a week to see how he does. He wakes up quite stiff in the morning. He is back to work but is tired in the evenings.

He also wants to go do something fun and for himself so what does he choose ... kayaking. I'm really worried to try to give it a try! What will I do if his hands cramp up and we can't get to shore! I'd have to try and tow him (we always have a tow rope with us as I teach kayak safety). Or worse, he can't get out of the kayak. I picture me having to tip him into the water to get him out of it. I think I'm going to try him into geocaching instead. He is not having any trouble walking and we like to explore new areas.

Thanks again for all the thoughts & prayers.
You both are still in my thoughts and prayers. I'm glad to hear the prednisone is helping some. At least you have answers and now can work toward a treatment plan. I've heard great things about geocaching.

We would love to go over Christmas, but John worries about the crowds. Crowds are one of the reason why we go in December, its not so congested.

We are also going in December, Heidi. But we arrive on the 22nd and leave on the 26th this year.

OMG that is an interesting reason to get earrings. :teeth: My mom wouldn't allow us earring until we could take care of the responsibility (cleaning our ears etc.) I got mine peirced at a mall when I was 10 but they did something wrong and I got a severe infection and ever since I have been allergic to metal. :confused3 I had to let the holes close so I was always jealous of my older sister and her cool earrings. She had ones for every holiday. :guilty:

I thought Kristin's reasoning for getting her ears pierced was pretty good for a 5 year old! Kathrin, on the other hand, was very practical. She told Bob that she needed to get her ears pierced so that she wouldn't lose any more of the clip-on earrings that I let her wear. :thumbsup2

Heidi -- the crowds are awful! But we love it.

This will be our 11th Christmas to spend in WDW as a family. It is how we celebrate the holidays. We go often enough that we seem to avoid most of the crowd problems and do only the things we love to do. TourGuideMike is also an invaluable tool during this time period! :goodvibes

Vicki, never read the Internet, when looking for anything medically.

Morning, DDA! Boy I sure enjoyed those three weeks of relatively little work. :) Friday cannot get here soon enough. And it now looks as if it might be a good week at the beach! YIPPEE!!!

Off to work on student compositions again.

Yes, when you hear the beeping you should get to the nearest tv to find out how much flooding you might get and to see if you should evacuate.
