Yup he knows, and that is why we haven't been there over Christmas. One year we made the mistake of going back to the MK, just befor the evening parade started. :scared1:
We got so far into the park, turned around and left.

I am at Port Orleans Riverside. Unless she changed, Kristin is at POR because I knew that I could at least bump into her at the resort! We requested AB Bldg 38. We love the location of that building. Of course, I don't know if we'll get it but I don't think it gets lots of requests!

Why do you like 38? I haven't made any requests yet. I just pulled out our map from the last time we stayed there (in 1996). We were in building 37, and we really liked that location. It was very convenient to the North Depot and a quiet pool. I enjoyed the walk to the main building and pool area. I have heard that many people like to request 14 and 18, but I think that I like the area around 37 and 38 better. I just haven't decided whether I want to make a request or see what fate has in store for me.

I thought Kristin's reasoning for getting her ears pierced was pretty good for a 5 year old! Kathrin, on the other hand, was very practical. She told Bob that she needed to get her ears pierced so that she wouldn't lose any more of the clip-on earrings that I let her wear. :thumbsup2
You sure taught your girls to be analytical at a very young age! ;)

So my Mom and I made a last minute bus trip to Atlantic City today. I am glad we took the bus as it poured the whole way there and back but it was gorgeous there. No rain, partially sunny and windy: great weather for the beach and boardwalk.

On the other hand here it rained like 3+ inches and it is supposed to rain another 4 to 5 inches overnight and keep raining through Friday. I think I need to buy a boat.

So many bodies of water are way past there flood stages already and it is supposed to keep raining. Making the waters at higher levels than ever. I hope all of you are safe and don't have any flooding or damage from the storm. If you see standing water please don't drive through it. Sending :wizard: and :grouphug: to all for :sunny: and dry weather.

Of course I have the week off from work and it rains like all week. :rotfl2: :lmao: I was gonna go to Hersheypark on Sunday after the bridal shower but didn't because it was raining there, they had 5 inches of rain in a few hours. It has been crazy here. I just saw a rescue of someone off there car you couldn't even see the roof and they needed a boat about 5 miles from where I live. They are also evacuating people from there homes. Its craziness.

I know we needed rain but why couldn't it have been spread out over the past 6 months instead of all at once. :confused3

I should be ok as I live in an elevated area but lots of surrounding roads have creeks and streams and things that flood easily. It should be interesting.

I'm glad to hear that you are in an elevated area. We are, too. The City of Binghamton has closed all roads today, and quite a few areas right around here are on mandatory evacuation. Last night all roads in Broome and Tioga counties were closed (except for emergency vehicles). The Susquehanna River hasn't crested yet, but it is expected to this afternoon at record levels. We are west of Binghamton, and our rain is expected to diminish by this afternoon. Those east of Binghamton will continue to be hit longer. Fortunately my plans for the weekend through July 4th are to head further west and north.

Well, that's been resolved. Tommy contacted me and has requested that he make his permanent home with Terry. He says that he loves me & my family for adopting him but thinks that Terry (as well as the seniors and the kids that keep looking for him at the center) needs him more than we do since we have Nicky. He was very convincing that Terry has a very loving home so I gave my blessing. Tommy will continue his travels but when his travelin' days are over, he will return to his home with Terry.

ETA: He did this behind Terry's back. She knew nothing about it until I approached her if she was interested in taking him in.

How sweet!

We just got home from a day of running around and dodging downpours.

For whatever reason, this morning Alyssa told me that she wanted to get her ears pierced. Now this is a change for her because I made the mistake of telling her that it was going to hurt a little bit the last time she asked to have them done. So for the past 8 months or so she was adamant about NOT having them done. When I picked her up from VBS I asked if she still wanted to get her ears pierced. Yes, she said. So off to McDonalds we went for lunch and then to the mall. She picked out little pink flowers with a clear center. She sat up in the chair, and luckily there were two girls working the piercings, so I got both her ears done at the same time, just in case she backed out after one. She didn't even cry! She was so proud of herself and now gazes in the mirror. After that I took her and bought her ballet slippers for the summer class that she is going to start on the 10th of July. My little girl is growing up!!!!!

Before I forget, we got Chuck's x-ray results. It shows degenerative arthritis in his spine & hands. Don't know exactly what that means (you nurses might). I did a little research on the internet and scared myself. We see the doctor again in 2 weeks so decided I better wait to talk to him before getting myself worked up. Reminder to self: Vicki try not to worry about things before you know the details. It just ruins today. The prednisone is helping but we think he needs to split it & take half at night and half in the morning (instead of all in the morning). The doctor told us he could do that if he needed to. Chuck wanted to give it a week to see how he does. He wakes up quite stiff in the morning. He is back to work but is tired in the evenings.

He also wants to go do something fun and for himself so what does he choose ... kayaking. I'm really worried to try to give it a try! What will I do if his hands cramp up and we can't get to shore! I'd have to try and tow him (we always have a tow rope with us as I teach kayak safety). Or worse, he can't get out of the kayak. I picture me having to tip him into the water to get him out of it. I think I'm going to try him into geocaching instead. He is not having any trouble walking and we like to explore new areas.

Thanks again for all the thoughts & prayers.
More PD and prayers for Chuck, and for you! :wizard:

Thanks to all those who commented about Alyssa. I agree, but I am a little biased. ;) :goodvibes

I just booked my mom's airline ticket for October on our flight, so it is official, she is going. :Pinkbounc John's ticket was non-transferable/non-refundable so he has a credit with the airline.

Thanks, Chanon, with your help on this.

I try to stay away from ebay and only stopped in my tracks once when I heard it mentioned the stuffy skins are available. I have thought of things I could possibly sew!!! :lmao: :lmao:

The stuffy skins are twice as much as what they are in the store on eBay. Don't even look. They aren't worth it.

Thanks, Tammi! The rain has almost stopped here. I hope to be singing, "Here comes the sun!" sometime today.

O M G, I forgot you got the BAB Minnie. I was wondering how you were holding up with Nicki in Japan!!!

Not the BAB Minnie. She is a WDW Minnie plush that Kate picked up for me. She is about the right size for Pal Mickey.

:grouphug: Try not to worry, I know easier said than done. Something I try to do is pray about it and than hand it over to God. (I like to actually write thoughts down and than rip them up or burn them as a figurative way of letting go to God.) Everytime you go to pick it back up just repeat an encouraging bible verse or say a quick prayer. :wizard: for you and Chuck. I have often thought geocaching looked fun but never gathered enough info. on it. :)

Geocaching is so much fun! We have found so many new, neat places that we didn't know existed in areas that we've been many times. I really enjoy it. If you are ever interested, let me know and I'm happy to share more info. It just takes a GPS.

Can we do both? I want to sit by goofy but I love the idea of us all being in one picture with a character - I suppose it wouldn't matter if some of us happened to be with the same one - they often dress in different outfits anyway :goodvibes

Great idea! We should get a picture with Goofy at WDW so that we can sit them side by side. Then get a picture with our favorite characters so that Kate can put them all in one. That would be cool!!!!

ETA: And whatever place that Glynis & Paula figure out for our DL trips.

We like being close to the North Depot. We like the walk in the morning to the counter service. Sometimes we walk across Ol' Man Island and sometimes we walk along the water in front of the other buildings. We like being away from all the activity later in the day (since so many people like the buildings closer to the main area) plus there isn't a lot of traffic past us since there are faster ways to all the other buildings. We probably would like the other buildings (including 37) in the same area but with so few characters in the request section we can barely fit the request for a building let alone an area.

Ok, here's a song for all of you that want Mr. Sun to come out for you.

Oh Mr. Sun, sun, Mr. Golden Sun,
Please shine down on them!!!
Oh Mr. Sun, sun, Mr. Golden Sun,
Hiding behind a tree
My DDA friends are a waiting for you,
So come on & do, the thing that you do,
Oh Mr. Sun, sun, Mr. Golden Sun,
Please shine down, won't you shine down on,
Please shine down on them!!!!!!!

Ok, so normally when we sing this it is shine down on me and instead of my DDA friends it is Summer Thing (the name of our Girl Scout two week camp). There are actions to the song as well and I've performed it twice for all of you.
