So last night and tonight there were fireworks all around in various towns like at Jennifer's house. My next door neighbor also set some off. He will probably set some off every night between now and the fourth.

Well tonight was a fireworks war. My next door neighbor and the neighbor across the street were setting off fireworks for about two hours. No synchronized music or anything fantastic but still fun. Can you tell I am spoiled by Disney. The funny this is you can't by ground to air fireworks in Pennsylvania but it doesn't seem to stop anyone around here.

If you want to quote this please remove the pictures to help those who have dial up be able to load the pages more quickly. Thank you in advance.

Here are some pictures.

Seeing as how this is a Disney site we need some pixie dust. That is the name of this firework and you can see the name at the bottom.
Your pictures turned out really good Becky. Did you use a tripod? What camera setting did you use?

Jen, that is great. :wizard: For continued success.

I have a new update on the firemen..and this is a better update! I just checked his carepage (where a family member puts updates everyday) and they said today he seemed to be VERY responsive! He opened up his eyes and tried to look at people when they walked in. He was squeezing hands harder..He even attempted to pucker up his lips to kiss people. He is not considered out of the woods yet, of course-He received a pint of blood today but his hemoglobin level is okay.
This is some of the best news that we have gotten so far and we are just hoping and praying the news coninues to get better...I will be going to the hospital tomorrow or tuesday and will let you guys know how that goes, but wnated to share some "better" news for a change!

You did a fantastic job Deb!

That would be like an episode of Dynasty, for those of us 'older' ones that remember that show!

This is the race car bed with toddler Cars bedding set. The wall has stick on "Cars" and a crafty picture.

The curtains that I altered to go with the theme

His Lightning McQueen nightlight

He also has a Mater blow up chair that already has a leak (I think I blew it up too much on the air compressor) and a Lightning McQueen Lounge chair. I have all the little McDonald cars on his racetrack rug. I think it is pretty cute. I still need to make him a new blanket, but otherwise I think I'm done. I do need to make a couple more trips to McDonalds as we don't have Luigi or Doc Hudson yet. Maybe we missed them, I'm not sure?

Deb
Deb you did a great job on Colby's room. Please tell me that the 'clouds' are wallpaper, because if you are crafty enough to paint that on you really put me to shame. ;)

ENABLER ALERT!!! Thanks, Lindsay! :goodvibes

Okay - I said I was leaving, but came back to post one thing...

I have become a huge Disney podcast junkie - it makes my commute to/from work so much more enjoyable. Anyways, one of my favorites is MouseTunes, which is done by Lou Mongello (of the WDW Trivia Books fame) and Nathan Rose (owns ********************). They've been talking about/recommending a DVD set on there that I finally checked out last night - they have been saying it was reduced to $99, but it's actually reduced to $49 (originally $249). 18 DVD's of all of WDW, with a bonus DVD of some of the 50th Celebration DL stuff. (For all you DL gals, it looks like they have a DL version, too.) Standard shipping is $18.99. I thought this might be something this group would be interested in - here's the link: http://relivethemagic.com/pd_all_of.cfm?RID=117&TID=35

Ohhh, I want one, but alas there is no BAB store near me.
Boo hoo. :(

For you BAB people, can someone please explain to me the point of buying the M&M or Pooh skins and then stuffing them? Wouldn't that be the same as buying a plushy?

Deb, cute room.

Thank you everyone for the hugs, pixie dust and prayers for my mom.

:wizard: :grouphug: :wizard: :grouphug: for everyone.

You are right, they are pretty much a plushy.

His room is wallpaper, but I have since learned how to do the paint technique for clouds. Sherman Williams had some pamphlets to explain it.

Deb

ETA: The wall coverings were done for his nursery, but I love them so much and I can put just about anything in there without changing them

Deb, I have an extra Luigi. PM me your address and he's yours.

Colby's room looks great!

Deb -- awesome job on Colby's room! You have done a great job carrying out the Cars theme.

I have a little time this morning to start my trip report. I left home at 4:30 AM and drove 3 hours in the pouring rain to get to the Point Sebago Resort in Casco, ME. I actually think that the rain was helpful on that drive as I had to drive through the White Mountians which could have been a nightmare had it been sunny. It took my family 4 1/2 hours to get there on Saturday afternoon so I was pretty pleased with only a 3 hour drive :teeth: . There was really no other cars on the road for most of the trip and other than a deer and a racoon crossing the road in front of me the drive was uneventful. When I got to the resort it was 7:30 AM and the Welcome Center didn't open until 8 AM. Even though there were plenty of employees in the welcome center they would not help me until 8 AM. (I was already missing the Disney Magic). I ended up walking over to the guard booth and the gentleman there was very helpful. My family had included me on the original registration so I was register, I did not have a sticker for my car though. He decided that since Chris would be leaving later in the day in the same vehicle that I arrived in that I could just go in. So after about 15 minutes of frustration I was reunited with my family. Chris was really happy to see me and the Nick and Hunter gave me hugs. Colby on the other hand was watching cartoons and all I got out of him was a "hi, Mom". I was a little disappointed with his welcome, but he gave me plenty of hugs and kisses later to make up for it. :teeth: We hung out at the camper for a while then brought the kids to there 9 AM activities. Colby was going to Chippy's Camp which is there preschool program. You can check them in for a 3 hour session from 9 AM to Noon and again from 1 PM - 4 PM or you can just bring them for the activity of the hour. He loved Chippy's camp so we dropped him off for the 3 hours. Nick and Hunter went to a free golf clinic which was a 2 hour program. Chris and I walked around the campground and he showed me where all the important places were. We were actually pretty close to all the activities relatively speaking. We did have to walk about a half mile to do anything, but that was not far compared to how far other guests had to walk. Hunter and I were signed up for a parent/child shuffleboard tournament at 11 AM. Since is was a 4 day tournament Chris couldn't participate. My Mom and Nick ended up deciding to play at the last minute. It was fun, but the court was really wet as it was still raining off and on. (Activities go on unless there is lightning). Only 5 teams showed up so instead of a 4 day tournament it turned into a one day. I wish we had known before it started as Chris would have played.
Here are a couple of photos

Hunter and I were eliminated after 2 rounds and Mom and Nick were eliminated after 3 rounds. Hunter got the hang of shuffleboard later in the trip (as you will hear later).

Back with Double Dare in a few.

Deb

Deb - you are so creative! Outstanding job on Colby's room! (I hope he's still sleeping in it!) :goodvibes

After shuffleboard we retrieved Colby from Chippy's and headed for Double Dare.

Each team had 4 family members so Colby was our cheerleader and stood with my Mom and Dad. My db, dsil and their 2 kids were on a second team and there were 2 other families that we didn't know. The first event was to get all four team members from the starting line across the finish line using only 3 little rubber circles to stand on. Some teams would send one person across, moving the dots as they went then they used the dots as frisbees to get them back to the other team members and the next person went. We decided to have Chris put Nick on his shoulders and I put Hunter on mine. Chris moved out to the 3rd dot, me to the second then I would squat down, pick up the first dot and pass it to Chris and he would put it down, move over etc. This was not easy with Hunter on my shoulders and I felt it for days afterwards. We crossed the line second. My brother's team beat us as they borrowed our idea and had much lighter kids to carry. We moved on to the next event. Each team made a line starting at the waters edge. The 4th person held a bucket on his/her head. The first person would fill his sponge with water, run up to the second person, squeeze the water out of his sponge into the next persons who would do the same until the 3rd person would squeeze out his sponge into the bucket.

We got beat by my brother's team and the other team as we were now down to 3 teams. We determined that Hunter shouldn't have been the one in the water as he didn't get the sponge as full as the other teams. This will be important later in the trip. Kevin, Amy, Logan and Summer moved on the finals which was a question round. There were so many Disney question and of course they didn't know the answers. "Who was Simba's evil uncle?" the answered Mufasa. We would have kicked some serious butt in that round. They did however answer enough questions right to win. They made some lucky guesses on the non Disney questions ;)

For each tournament the first prize was "I won" t-shirts. They are lime green and apparently coveted around the campground. I can't tell you how many times we heard how did you win those, I've been coming for 17 years and haven't won one yet....

I know that we went to lunch next. More to come later.

Not quite the same for the kids. At BAB they let you run the machine that stuffs them and you get to choose how much stuff goes in. Then there is also the little heart that you are asked to put in.

FYI: I would be happy to get Pooh's for anyone who would like them. I can even do it on the Premiere day.

Hi Tammi,

I guess it was just a bit of me going a little nuts. :goodvibes :goodvibes I wanted the BAB Mickey and Minnie because they are rare. I wanted to stuff them myself because it was fun. I love BABs. My grandcildren have quite a collection.

The whole build a bear "thing" is to stuff your bear, give it a heart, fluff your bear and print out its birth certificate and register it. They put a ... for want of a better word, a little lowjack tag inside, so if it is ever lost it can be returned to you...

I am a tad over the top with my Mickey maddness. My room is all Mickey. My wall color is the color of Mickey's feet. I have Mickey phones, sleep on Mickey sheets, in my Mickey pajamas. I shower behind a Mickey curtain, toss my trash in a Mickey trash can, drain my dishes in a Mickey drainer, roll my Disney paper towels off a Mickey towel holder.

I have lamps, curtains, watches, picture frames, dishes, silverware, clothes.. you get the idea. I'm obsessed. I brush my teeth with Mickey shaped toothpaste.

I have the red Mickey luggage, I wear Mickey clothes, my laptop goes in its Mickey laptop carrier. I have Mickey prescription eyeglasses.

So you see, for me, I had to have the BAB Mickey and Minnie :smickey: :mickeyjum and because I have a BABW store close to me, I had her send the skins unstuffed, so I could go to workshop and stuff them myself. That was a mistake, because the other kids couldn't buy one there and they were sad.

But the employees at the store got a real kick out of it and made sure to get my numbers so the Florida Mall could register my M&M and send me their birth certificates and all... :dance3: :dance3:

OIC. I didn't know about the birth certificate, etc. I guess it becomes more personal when all that goes into it. Thanks for the explanation.
