Thanks for the hair advice so far! To clarify, I guess I'm technically going darker? But not dark by any means. More than that, just a different 'hue' I guess

I just have really "golden" blonde hair, that will automatically get lighter in the sun (obviously). I don't like the yellow-y look, so I'm thinking about a little more champagne blonde. Not really ash..... I dont know, I plan on taking a picture or two and pointing to it. My hair stylist is great, she'll either make it the right color or tell me it will look stupid!

So I guess I should wait. Jen, you are exactly right about pictures -- that's the reason I wanted to do mine before as well. I already have problems though with hi/low lights not "staying" as well as I feel they should, so I think I'll play it safe.

I am back! We had a great time!!!!

I just realized that Mark and I only took a few pics together and only had a few other him or I. All the other pics are of all his other classmates. So here is what I have.

Denise -- I'm glad that all went well today. I've had gallbladder attacks, and I can understand why Rees has been hesitant to eat.

I had mine removed laparoscopically. Went in early a.m., left the surgery center at around 3, and home resting for a few days. Very few problems -- symptoms that mimic IBS for a few months, and corn bothers me now, but I'll take those any day compared to an hour of a gallbladder attack! If you have any questions, please PM me and I'll be happy to answer.

I hope you get lots of rest (and good meds) and look forward to an update on the Figs on Tuesday.

The concert was great. Hunter's class opened the show and he even did a xylophone solo. The smile on his face was priceless. Nick's class closed the show. They did a junk band number. He brought in an airfilter cover from a car as his piece of junk. They did a marvelous job and got the most applause of any group the whole night. I'll try to post pictures in a minute.

After the concert I had to run to the grocery store to get donuts for night Maple Sugaring project tomorrow. Hunter came with me. He was so talkative and acted interested in shopping and helping me. I showed him how to write a check. He was fascinated and asked 100s of questions about checking accounts on the way home. I am so proud of how mature he is for an 8 year old. It was a priviledge to spend one on one time with him. He really is such a caring boy. I wish Nick were a bit more like him.

UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So I decided not to beg off of Vacation Bible school b/c Julia and Nick really want to go -

so before I left I sent off a list of current volunteers to the volunteer coordinator

She is new to our parish and was recruited to the position - and has never talked with the old Coordinator to find out what she was supposed to be doing - to be honest I am not sure where the breakdown in communication was b/c we also have a new director this year

anyway - the rest of the VBS team has been around for a while and we just know how we all work and what we do and we have not needed to have any meetings

so instead of finding out what she was supposed to be doing - this girl just decided to do what she did at her old parish in the same volunteer position

Our parish is HUGE and very active and getting volunteers is never an issue - so we use the volunteer coordinator to solicit gifts for the volunteers and to make name tags and keep them happy the week of VBS

My job is registration - and we have a form that every VBS student and volunteer must fill out - it is on a first come first served basis b/c the program is so popular - we don't really ever have to turn people down but it is always close

once I get all the registrations - based on the needs and who has volunteered - I assign the volunteers and then pass the info off to the volunteer coordinator

so the other day I find out this girl started soliciting volunteers and assigning them jobs so I sent her an email (she has yet to answer a phone call to her house) explaining to her what I do as registration coordinator and what I need her to do - she shoots me back an email telling me that I am wrong and that she can't believe that we will get enough volunteers without her soliciting them - b/c at her last parish they had one volunteer for every 3 students and that the more volunteers the better and there is no way we can ever reach that ratio doing it the way we always have

last year we had one volunteer for every 1.5 students - and this year we have 113 students registered so far and 72 volunteers!!!

So she sent an email to volunteers today and it went to another girl on our leadership team - telling people to let her know where they want her to assign them and if they want to be on the leadership team (you know the group of 6 people in charge) to just come on to our next meeting!?!?!?!?

The new Director is out of town so there is really no one I can talk with who would be in charge - I just have no idea what to do - can you imagine coming in to a parish and trying to take over like that?

Watch your blood pressure, Kate - she'll learn and everything will work out fine. Perhaps in her other parish, it was hard to get people involved and she had to push it. People who are used to being allowed to take over in one place just naturally assume that they have to take over in the next. Since there's nothing you can do right now, wait for the director to come back and in the meantime vent to all of us!!

Here is a photo that I took before the concert. The cafegymtorium as dh calls it has really poor lighting to photos don't come out in there I did take a video, but haven't had a chance to look at it yet. You can tell from the picture that Nick was not keen on having mom take photos while his friends were standing there watching him Such is Life.

I have to be up early tomorrow so I'm off like a prom dress
